My favourite horror genre is slasher so I was immediately drawn to this book and it kept me hooked, great slasher overall.

I love a good slasher movie and this provided me everything I love in those but on a page, it was so nostalgic. I really enjoyed it and read it really quickly in one sitting

I am not sure if author Wil Forbis would agree with me, but 'The Mirror Man' had the comfortable feel of one of those masked killer horror movies where there are a selection of expendables, a fiendish murderer, and plenty of twists and turns along the way. That is meant as a genuine compliment.
The body count starts rising in the small town of St. Anne, with each death coming via one of those wonderfully elaborate methods that can only exist in the horror genre. As the police and Forbis' potential final girl Mason struggle to piece together who is behind these serial killings the threats and danger ramp up quickly.
This one reads fast and delivers an extremely satisfying conclusion - which isn't always the case in this sort of story.
Trippy genre violence. A sadistic masked killer. In other words: fun stuff!

This was a good read, especially when your in between books and don’t know what to go for. I hadn't read too many good slasher books lately but this was a good one. It was good fun to read, easy plot to fall into and characters that fit into the teen slasher genre. This had everything a slasher needs; an anonymous killer in a mask, gruesome death scenes, and of course, the final girl.
Thank you to publisher and to NetGalley.

Contradictory, ill-researched, and frustrating, I pushed myself to get through this and skimmed most of the ending which felt superfluous and didn't seem to have any bearing on the story.

Thanks to.BooksGoSocial and Net galley for letting me have this ARC.
haven't read a thriller/slasher that's really gripped me in a while!
This book had fantastic twists and turns, constantly kept you guessing who did it!
the last 20% of the book my head was whirrling with what was going on!
If you want a fast paced, no nonsense slasher this is the book for you!

The gory details and slasher descriptions were well done, and the story flowed smoothly overall. While the beginning was a bit slow-paced, it picked up momentum and kept me reading once things got going.
That said, the plot felt a little far-fetched at times, and the characters came across as quite immature. The writing style occasionally made me roll my eyes, and I didn’t feel fully engaged throughout.
I’d recommend this one to young adult horror-thriller readers looking for something entertaining and quick to get through.
Thank you to NetGalley, the author, and the publisher for a free e-ARC of this book

I love to read horror books and enjoyed reading The Mirror Man. I liked the overall plot and some of the writing was fantastic. I feel the author was imaginative and there were some ideas I thought were interesting. I was surprised by the twist at the end. It was relaxing for me to read and I plan to buy it when it has been published.
Thank you Netgalley and Wil Forbis for letting me read this copy early!

I enjoyed this slasher book more than I would have thought! The storyline of the book is very intriguing. I found that the book moved quickly and had me at the edge of my seat. I’m a huge fan of the multiple perspectives, it not only made the story move quickly, but you are able to see another perspective. Definitely worth reading!

Wow! This was: bad! I was genuinely so exited and almost immediately my excitement was extinguished. I figured out who the Mirror Man was literally within the first 10% of the book and subsequently every other "twist" almost as soon as they were introduced. On top of that, the wiring was just… bad. It felt like a teenager who wants people to think they're smart and sophisticated and therefore uses a vocabulary they think makes them sound mature but it's just… awkward. The idea was cool (though definitely not unique) and I feel like it would make a good Criminal Minds episode, but this book just did NOT work for me, unfortunately.

This book was Gory, chilling and spooky. I never could have guessed which way the story was heading!
Some of the dialog is a bit cheesy, but otherwise very descriptive. "He pushed the Spinning blade centimeters from her cheek." "It's excellent for cutting off noses, and you should be pleased to know that it's solar powered. I'm very concerned about the environment."
The main character. Mason, seemed like quite the bada**. She was very smart.
I also, very much enjoyed the different perspectives of the kills!
Thank you to Netgalley and to the author for giving me the opportunity to read "The Mirror Man".

This book was a little gory, but a good amount of creepy. I didn't like the dialogue of the character it just didn't sound quite right. It was a short fast read and the plot was great so I was able to stay engaged.

1.5 stars for the interesting kills, otherwise I had a really hard time with this book. The dialogue was SO cheesy. Who talks like that? Also, it felt like it was trying to be progressive but was almost offensive...SO many stereotypes. I also just didn't buy any of the characters. They felt very one dimensional and the main character sure wasn't acting as if all of her friends had been killed and she had almost been killed TWICE.

This book was chilling. Not a lot of things really spook me, but this one did, and I'm still jumpy, even hours after finishing it. So spooky!

I had such a hard time putting this story down! It’s a brutal, graphic, insane slasher story with a great lineup of diverse characters.
“He pushed the spinning blade centimeters from her cheek. “It’s excellent for cutting off noses. And you’ll be pleased to know it’s solar powered. I’m very concerned about the environment.””
Mason was an awesome FMC, she seemed like she had a pretty solid head on her shoulders and didn’t want to lose it to the killer. I really liked the multiple perspectives throughout that gave insight into the murders and investigation.
I couldn’t be sure which direction the tale was heading and there were definitely a few red herrings that got me for sure!
Thank you to NetGalley, the author, and BooksGoSocial for a copy.

This had all the ingredients for an amazing story, the slasher villain, a killing spree, a masked murderer, but I just couldn’t deal with the dialogue. It was so cringey and unrealistic. People don’t talk like the way these characters did, and honestly it was hard not to roll my eyes and keep going. I liked the surprise toward the end where the murderer was actually someone Mason thought was dead (always a good plot twist), but other than that this book felt very young and I wasn’t a fan. It tried to be like Scream, but I just found it too juvenile to indulge in. I can definitely see people liking this book because of how much it resembles slasher films, but I just wasn’t a fan at all.

I think I am learning I heavily prefer horror when it is under 200 pages and shorter, as I am a very impatient reader. This story starts off intense, and then begins to slow a bit, and I was wanting it to stay in the intensity zone. Because of that, I am putting this one down for now. I am not getting sweaty palms from this and it is a bit long for my taste.
Thank you for the opportunity to provide honest feedback voluntarily. I received a free eARC of this book.

Great read for teenager/young adult. The connection between Dr Titus and the main plot was in my opinion unnecessary. I’d forgotten all about him and got a little confused when he reappeared in the epilogue! I did enjoy it though.

Definitely gives a Hostel meets Saw meets Scream. I enjoyed reading this, however it was predictable. The plot twist did make me second guessing myself but overall and motive was weak. I could definitely see this turned into a tv series and I would tune in every Friday. I like how the author connected the beginning to the end. Overall, I would recommend!

I saw one part of the twist coming but not the other, so I really liked this book. It was like a slasher movie, really intense and a quick read. I'm going to read more books by Wil Forbis for sure.
