Synopsis - Emma finds herself waking up in a hospital although she cannot see properly and doesn't really remember how she ended up in the hospital. The last thing Emma remembered was she was running away from someone. As Emma lies in the hospital with no recollection of her memories, she couldn't help but think how she ended up in the hospital and whether she should trust people or not...

Good points - I actually liked the plot of the story. The retrograde amnesia part coupled with the temporary blindness and not remembering your own name or how you ended up in the hospital is actually a great premise for a psychological thriller. The one that I also liked most in this book is the greatest twist revealed at the end, which was completely unexpected.

Bad points - I have read Leslie Wolfe's books before but unfortunately, I didn't get to enjoy this book as much as I thought I should. For example, the author has written in complete Emma's POV yet while reading, you can't differentiate which is present day and which is past before the "accident" because it was all written in one chapter. As such, I didn't like the writing much because of this because as a reader it confused me and it took me sometime to realize that I was reading the past and not the present or vice versa. While what grabbed my attention was the second part of the book, the first part of the book was slow paced and I nearly got bored with the first part as it wasn't fast paced like I expected it to be.

Overall verdict - This was for sure is not her best book. I have read Leslie Wolfe's books where I have read in one go. It took a lot of time for me to get into the story and the timelines in this book was very confusing. However, despite the negative points, the premise and plot of the story itself was unique but I wished the author had executed it well which would have indeed made this book more compelling to read. Overall this book is worth 3.5 starts.

Many thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for the ARC. The review is based on my honest opinion only.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC. This one is a twisty mystery of where is Emma and how she pieces together what has happened to her. It was a little slow for me, but when the ending approached, the pace picked up. It was a good read, and I will look for more by this author.

I liked this ok. As a thriller it fell a little flat but I think this would be great for thriller newbies.

It took me a little while to get into this book. It was a little confusing and a little creepy. You do want to keep reading it so you can figure out what's going on. The ending will surprise you.

I really enjoy the Kay Sharpe series by Leslie Wolfe, hope she is writing more, and I liked If I Go Missing. So I was pleased to receive an advanced copy of her latest stand alone book The Hospital.

I had a hard time with this one. it seem to DRAG for the first 60% of the book, then WHAM!
Emma has been attacked and when she wakes up, she can hardly remember what happened and she can't see.
When she starts to piece it together, and me as the reader I was slow to catch on as well. I found it a little unbelievable that all her visitors were able to continue the charade. I did not guess who the stalker was, but was also not surprised when he was revealed.

I do enjoy this writers work and look forward to the next book.
Thanks to NetGalley for the advanced copy

So tense! Wow, now I can breathe normally.

This book was so intense, jaw dropping, full of surprises and twists that kept me turning the pages so fast! This was my third book by Leslie and I know I will be reading more from her!

I loved the writing style, the plot, I didn’t have any idea where the story was going, even tried to guess a few times, and the big surprise at the end?!

It had me on the edge of my seat the entire time, I couldn’t put it down!

You will love to get to know the main character Emma, her trauma, her emotions, her memories, her strength and beliefs.

You need to read this book!
I definitely recommend.

Thank you so much NetGalley, Leslie Wolfe and Bookouture for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The Hospital by Leslie Wolfe is a completely shocking psychological thriller with a breathtaking and unexpected twist.
This storyline is absolutely original. I never come across anything like this book, not even similar! It's so refreshing to get something completely original!

In the first half of the book, you are just wondering where all this is going and the second part comes in with twists and turns and it feels like a wild ride!

When Emma wakes up in the hospital she doesn't have a memory of what happened but she knows, someone was trying to kiII her. Now she is stressed that whoever tried it will return to finish the job.
She can't see and she can't move her body so she can't protect herself. All she can do is rely on Dr Sokolowski and nurses who look after her. Bit by bit her memory is returning. Will she remember who attacked her?

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for this copy!

What a thrilling story with lots of twists to keep you guessing. I highly enjoyed this book, the writing was very good and I really enjoyed the story line.
We follow Emma, who wakes up, unsure of where she is, with hardly any memories of before but also struggling to create new memories. She is told that she is in hospital, she was found on her driveway in a puddle of blood with a nasty bang to the back of her head, she is told that her eyesight has been effected so it's best if they keep the gauze covering her eyes, she is told that her memories will come back. What if some or all of that is a lie?
I will be recommending this book to thriller lovers and unreliable narrator vibe lovers.

This book had me gripped from the very first page. So many twists and turns. I had a feeling half way through who her stalker was but did not know anything more than that til everything came to a head.

I absolutely loved this book and a definite recommend

When Emma wakes up in the hospital, she doesn't remember much. All she is sure of is that someone tried to kill her, although she doesn't know who. As she tries to piece together her memories, she realizes that the information she is receiving from friends and family doesn't quite add up. A gripping thriller that will keep you guessing until the end.

“The hospital” follows our FMC Emma who wakes up in a hospital. She doesn’t remember what happened or why she’s there. She’s informed she has a case of amnesia along with being unable to move or see.

This book definitely has creepy claustrophobic vibes, being trapped without having vital information needed to keep yourself safe.

There’s a lot of suspicious characters who can’t be trusted, ex partners, jealous girlfriends, people who she can’t remember at all.

The mystery and the unknown definitely keep you reading. There are parts that felt a little predictable but overall I enjoyed this read!

Thank you Netgalley and Bookouture for the ARC.

This book had me gripped from the very first sentence! This book has all the elements you would expect from a psychological thriller and all the twists and turns you would expect from a mystery. And what a mystery it was. I thought I had the book figured out pretty early on, but once again I was completely wrong.

I have read a couple books by this author, but this may have the best one yet!

Thanks to #NetGalley and #Bookouture for the book #TheHospital by #LeslieWolfe. Emma remembers being attacked, someone trying to kill me. Now I wake up in the hospital and I can’t see one move. Why can’t I remember anything? Who tried to kill me. Am I really in a hospital? This books shows you what some people are capable of. I could not put this down.

I really enjoyed the psychological thriller element going on through this story, it had all the elements that I was expecting and enjoyed from the concept. The characters were realistic and worked with what I wanted from the genre. Leslie Wolfe has a great writing style and left me wanting to read more.

This book is quite .. interesting. The premise is good, however it didn't really suck me in the way I thought it would have.
Emma Duncan wakes up in a hospital after being brutally attacked. She is suffering from brain damage, making it difficult to recall much of anything as well as move. Her vision has also been damaged, leaving her partially blinded, albeit temporarily. As Emma starts to receive visitors, her memories slowly start coming back. She begins to piece things together and remembers what really happens.
This book was a unique one, for sure! The premise is great, however it wasn't the easiest read for me. Majority of the book seemed slow and repetitive. It doesn't really pick up until the end, and although it was shocking, it wasn't my favorite as far as psychological thrillers go.

Thank you NetGalley, Bookouture, and Leslie Wolfe for this ARC!
