Completely enjoyable book. Good plot and holds up its position in the series very well. Great beach read or summer traveling choice. I recommend giving it a chance.
The Covert Eyes team, which includes FBI Special Agents Michaela (Mike) Caine and Nicholas Drummond, are called to investigate a devastating sand storm that is rumored to be not a natural event but instead one created by man. From New York to Venice to Rome and to the Bermuda Triangle, Covert Eyes race against time to prevent the devastation of Washington, D.C.
This book is the fourth in the A Brit in the FBI series. It differs a bit from the earlier books in that it combines romantic suspense with science fiction. It is fast-paced and intriguing, though, and will hold the reader's attention. It is an excellent escape from reality.
ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!! Catherine Coulter has done it again with another fantastic book. This book will cause a book hangover because you get so engrossed with the story. This book gives you an adrenaline rush. I highly recommend reading this book.
This 4th book in "A Brit in the FBI' series has a family full of brilliant killers and a computer genius and a historical mystery...makes for a wild ride
I love the Drummond and Caine Team! Their character's fit together so well. The action is good and another solid plot.
While not familiar with J.T. Ellison, Catherine Coulter is one of my all time favorite authors. This was a typical Coulter book, in that it was excellent, and I couldn't put it down! I was unfamiliar with most of the characters here with the exception of my favorite crime fighting duo, Savich and Sherlock. I was so excited to see them in this book, even if only briefly. This book is a bit of a thought provoker. What if? What if someone could control the weather? What if, by doing so, a person could make a fortune? Think of all the wars and conflicts that could be over with a few keystrokes. I honestly loved this story and hope to see more of Nicholas and Mike, as well as the rest of the crew (Grant and Kitsune included!). Highly recommend this book!.
For FBI agents Nicholas Drummond and Michaela Caine, are adjusting to their new roles as head of the FBI’s new Covert Eyes division and setting up their team in their new offices when Nicholas receives a call from the elusive and master thief, the fox, telling him that a job went south and now she needs his and Mike’s help in solving who wants her dead. As Kitsune tells them about a recent weather event that may not be natural, Nicholas and the rest of the covert eyes team race to Italy to see if they can help Kitsune (the fox) and figure out just who wants to kill her and why. But as bullets start to fly, allies that they count on turn to enemies, Nicholas, Mike and the rest of the team find out that obsession can take over not just one person, but a whole family. Now the question is will their first case as a covert eyes team be their last one?
Wow, just wow. These two stellar authors come together to deliver a pulse pounding, wild action packed ride from start to finish in their latest installment in the acclaimed Brit in the FBI series and delivers a high octane ride that will keep the reader glued to the pages till the very end. With twists and turns that you don’t see coming to some intriguing characters that leap off the pages, these two authors give the reader an exciting and engrossing story that hit all my love buttons in all the right ways.
First the story was fast paced and kept my attention even after I had to put it down to go back to work. It was action packed and the few twists left me reeling even as I flipped the pages to see what would happen next. Second, the characters were just amazing. I love how these two authors are able to meld their writing styles together and into a cohesive story that featured intriguing and well written characters that fairly leap off the pages. With each astonishing action scene after another, the authors keep the reader centered on the characters and man, these characters really are in your face and totally entertaining. I love how close Nicholas and Mike have gotten and their connection comes across really well here. Add in their great team members as well as the bad guys who can really chill you to the bone in this book, well you get a sense that if this actually happened in real life, it would be cataclysmic and dangerous to the world.
THE DEVIL’S TRIANGLE keeps the reader highly entertained, eager for more and I absolutely adored finding out more about Nicholas, Mike and everyone else on their team. Add in some scenes with some of Ms. Coulter’s FBI series characters and it adds in depth to the story at the right times. With an action packed story that will blow you away, the reader is taken on a ride of their life as the question is asked: Those who can control the weather, should they rule the world? The answer will be found in this latest in book by two masterful storytellers that will chill you to the bone. Now the question I have to ask these two authors-More please!
This book kind of felt like a soap opera script with the weather machine and the evil twins. However, this is a series I always look forward to reading because of the main characters. This book is not as good as the first two in the series, but I have hopes that the next book will get back on track.
I read the Lost Key, which is the second book in this series and really liked it. I tried to get into the End Game, which is the third book, and didn't finish it. What that told me was I really like a bit of mystery and extensions of history or science beyond what we think we know.
This fourth book in the "A Brit in the FBI" series has all those elements. I had a hard time putting this down. I wanted to see Nicholas and Michaela win the day. There was danger, action and mystery. The twins, Cassandra and Ajax, were scary evil and unbalanced. The quest of the Genesis Group to find the Ark of the Covenant was an obsession that lead to the perpetration of much death and evil. As expected for this genre, there are things that happen for which you must suspend your inclination for disbelief and let the story flow. It is well-written and I really enjoyed it.
The Covert Eyes team is called to help an unlikely source. Kitsune also known as the Fox is an expert thief. She has stolen an artifact from a museum and now the people who hired her want her dead. While hiding from her employers, she overhears a conversation that has her extremely worried. Some has caused a sandstorm that has killed thousand of people. When the team finds this out they know they must investigate.
A fast paced read with lots of adventure and some James Bond like action. The characters are interesting and they make a great team.
Catherine Coulter and J.T. Ellison collaboration of a fast moving mystery thriller is a spine-tingler grabbing readers from the first page and throughout the storyline of THE DEVIL’S TRIANGLE. Coulter and Ellison create an incredible adventure for the two protagonists, FBI Agents Nicholas Drummond and Michaela (Mike) Caine. This unique team of agents and their hand-picked support team have been given the task to pursue cases dealing with exceptional circumstances. Their storyline begins with the return of Kitsune alias the Fox stealing an artifact dating back to the time of Moses. Instead of fulfilling the payment agreement for stealing the artifact, the people attempt to kill Kitsune at the point of delivery and then kidnap her husband. The storyline’s momentum increase and adds to the intrigue and suspense with the introduction of support characters and subplots that keep readers on the edge of their seats the danger increases for the team. The Nicholas and Mike’s FBI team and Kitsune travel to Turkey and then to Venice in pursuit of those responsible for the attempts on Kitsune's life and the kidnapping of her husband. Readers’ shadow Nicholas and Mike as their investigation uncover details that don’t seem to be possible. They find out more about capabilities of the patriarch of the family of evil antagonists. THE DEVIL’S TRIANGLE delivers, action, murder, out of this world computer technology, romance, humor, and justice for the good guys. Coulter and Ellison bring their story to life as Nicholas, Mike and Kitsune join forces to overcome the antagonists’ plans to destroy cities and kill thousands. The suspense, thrills, and romance keep the story alive heartwarming ending. THE DEVIL’S TRIANGLE is a book readers will have a hard time putting it down. It is must read.
This is a gripping tale with an intriguing storyline. It's fast paced thrilling story captures the imagination and keeps you turning the pages. The characters are fascinating, their interactions are sometimes very amusing.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from Netgalley. This is my honest opinion of it.
I bailed on this one. I did not finish. I enjoy Catherine Coulter but this book was not up to her standards. Characters were not relatable and the conversations, UGH!!! Made me roll my eyes many times. I gave it a good old college try. I did not bail till I was half way through the book. And usually when I get that far I can finish. This was just so poorly written and completely inane. I just couldn't do it.
The Devil's Triangle continues the FBI adventures of Nick and Michaela, first introduced in The Final Cut. Though the book can stand alone, there are numerous references to previous plot lines and many characters are carried over from earlier stories, so it is probably best to read in order.
Nick and Mike, with their team of FBI investigators, set out to both investigate a kidnapping as well as figure out a plan to destroy much of civilization by engineering and manipulating weather. The story is both preposterous and plausible, at the same time! Coulter and Ellison do a good job of introducing situations that are realistic, such as computer hacking and unfortunately, murder. They also created a world where highly intelligent and physically capable people are faced with life altering circumstances and typically come out unscathed. I had to go with the idea that much of what was written is fantasy, because if it were to be true, it would be overwhelming.
If you are a fan of the FBI series or the FBI and the Brit series, then I think this latest entry will keep you engaged.
Loved this book. It's the fourth in the Brit in the FBI series, but can be read as a standalone. Religious relics, weather control, Tesla, and psychopathic twins all add up to a rip-roaring good read.
Gallery Books and NetGalley provided me with an electronic copy of The Devil's Triangle. This is my honest opinion of the book.
The Devil's Triangle is part of A Brit in the FBI thriller series by veteran authors Catherine Coulter and J.T. Ellison. FBI special agents Nicholas Drummond and Michaela Caine head the Covert Eyes team, a handpicked group of agents responsible for tackling crime internationally. When a world renowned thief calls in to ask for help, spinning a tale about manmade disasters with global implications, the team heads to Venice in search of the truth. Encountering a threat to global security was expected, but they never thought that they would be facing that of biblical proportions. With the clock ticking, will the team be able to stop the threat in time?
If Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders and Indiana Jones had a baby, the progeny would be The Devil's Triangle. The book did border on too repetitive for my taste, as some of the almost 500 pages could have been deleted without affecting the plot. The slower pace also had a negative impact on my enjoyment of the book, as I found it difficult to engage with the characters and their stories. I do not think that The Devil's Triangle and I were a perfect match, but readers who enjoy police procedural thrillers with an international twist may like this book.
I have been reading Catherine Coulter forever and have loved some of her books and only liked others. This was an only liked. I enjoy the characters Of Nicholas Drummond and Micheala Caine, but the story line of this one was a little to farfetched for my tastes. I'm sure I'll read the next installment, but I hope it is a little more believable.
I was curious how this collaboration of authors would turn out. It's an entertaining book though somewhat frantic in the action and premise. Definitely have to have a 'willing suspension of disbelief' when reading this book.
I kept picturing the two authors throwing out ideas fast and furious. Evil twins? Yeah, that always works. Let's throw in some tunnels and chases and gunfights! How about some archeology? If the reader doesn't care for one aspect of the book, never fear - another is just around the corner.
A fun book. Just don't expect reality.
An edge of your seat book. Never seen the curves that were coming until they were right there. Both authors make a dynamic team.
