Pleasant story that daughter enjoyed over a couple of bedtimes.
Not as exciting an adventure tale as previous books we have enjoyed from this author but still an enjoyable read overall

Amelie loves dogs. She has only had her puppy, Monty for a few months when her family take in her grandad’s dog Daisy as he has to go into a care home. Amelie promises her Grandad they will look after the his old dachshund. But Daisy is unhappy and afraid in her new home. Monty can't understand why there is another dog in his house. And with Amelie making such a fuss over the new arrival, he soon feels unwanted and afraid that he is no longer wanted.

I received a copy of this from Netgalley for an honest review. This story is really well written for it's target audience. I began by reading it to my five year old daughter but she soon took over as she wanted to read it herself and really enjoyed it, and in fact it was the first time she had the confidence to read a 'big' book to herself. My friends eight year old also found out I had it and when she realised I had a Holly Webb book that was not even in the shops yet she practically mugged me for my tablet - she absolutely loved it and earned much kudos amongst her pet mad friends. This is definitely a little girls book, and would be a fantastic gift for any animal loving girl
