The Painted doll Affair by Angus Macvicar is a mystery and thriller and general fiction (adult) read.
Freelance journalist and private investigator Bruce McLintock and his wife Mary Jo have been married a mere three weeks when news of a journalistic scoop suddenly arrives to clear their honeymoon hangover.
There’s something on the grapevine about a killing. Big time and political.
And all those who make a noise of it tend to meet a savage and brutal end…
Accompanied by their underground eye, former petty crook Scliffy Gallagher, McLintock and Mary Jo head out to the west coast of Scotland to follow up on the elusive clues they have been given.
This was a slow but good read. I enjoyed the story and I liked the characters. 4*. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book from netgalley.
