Loved it. I enjoyed the characters and the storyline. One to re read. I look forward to reading more

This is one of my favourite books and I recommend it to people all the time. It’s so well written and a great insight into a neurodiverse mind. I’ll keep revisiting this one!

I'm something of a cynic, so in response its ubiquity I resolved not to read it. But curiosity won over. Still, I resolved not to like it. It didn't work out the way, though - I loved it. Loved the character, her story, and the slow skilful way it was revealed. The book - in my opinion - deserves all the success it's enjoyed.

Unfortunately I could not finish this book, as I found the subject matter and presentation of the character brought up uncomfortable emotions for me. I am conscious this is a personal preference though and not a reflection on the quality of the writing.

After initially thinking that Eleanor was quite an unlikeable character, it was so interesting to discover all the things in her past that made her seem that way.
Following Eleanor on her journey out of isolation and to a better understanding of herself was like watching a flower open - this book is very much worth the hype!

Honestly, this was a very uncomfortable read for me that I couldn’t finish. I have a complex relationship with my mother, and found this book very triggering.

The many acclaim this book has got tells you all you need to know! Simply beautiful and fantastically written! Loved it

I no longer have an interest in reviewing this title but would like to thank the publisher and author for the opportunity, it is now far past the publication and archive date. I have awarded 3 stars to keep this review neutral.

The unique lead character of this novel was such a fresh voice - funny, intractable, different. Although the book touches on issues of mental health, alcoholism and trauma, there is such a lightness of touch, sense of humour and slick plotting that it carries it off deftly and with warmth. Highly uplifting and a deserving phenomenon.

Probably one of my all time favourite books. So good that it started off a new genre - that of the quirky, socially-outcast heroine. I can't identify why the book is so gripping, but it most definitely is! Hilarious, heart-breaking, entertaining, compelling - an absolute cracker of a book.

Absolutely loved the book and the main character was so quirky and original. It had a great cast of characters and the plot was interesting and kept me glued to the novel.
Highly recommend

Quirky narrative, which was incredibly touching. Honeyman draws you completely into Eleanor's world, and... I absolutely was NOT expecting that ending!

This book wasn’t my usual genre but I thoroughly enjoyed it. The characters are well crafted and the story develops beautifully.

Compelling. Unique. Devastating.
Eleanor Oliphant was an extremely loved debut novel and that’s no surprise. It is a total game changer. It’s a conversation starter, for sure!
Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine navigates the bleak life of Eleanor - a quirky, unique and utterly memorable. It is so compelling and you’ll be hooked from the very beginning. There are some really uncomfortable moments in this too, especially towards the end which is truly devastating.
Overall, this is definitely one to not be missed! If you love a hopeful read then I recommend you check this out.
This is a truly brilliant debut and I will definitely be picking up the next one from Gayle Honeyman. A masterpiece.

While I didn't feel like this book was worth the hype, this portrayal of a platonic relationship between a neurodiverse woman and a stranger is heart-warming.
A wonderful read.
With thanks to NetGalley and the publisher.

There was much to enjoy here, but I found I couldn't connect with it. I'd read more from this author in the future though.

A very enjoyable read with interesting characters and a story that kept you wanting to just keep on reading.

I received this book a long time ago and a while after the publishing date. Therefore I will not be giving feedback as not only would it no longer be relevant, but also I didn't get round to reading it. My thanks to the published for the opportunity, as always this is much appreciated.

I’ve been wanting to read this book for so long. So many people have raved about how good it is. Although I did enjoy it, I didn’t think it was worth all the hype. It was well written and I enjoyed the characters (well, obviously not ‘Mummy’) but I think I was expecting more.

This book is amazing. I absolutely LOVED it. Eleanor is one of my all time favourite literary characters! It and she are genius!
