I have read quite a few books but this author now and she writes well written, addictive stories and this one was no different! This book was a lovely one to read sat in the sunshine.

The characters were great and I loved their interaction. Julia is a great character, well rounded, grounded and I really enjoyed the plot as it developed. It is a fairly easy read and I was hooked by the story within a few pages and I loved the ending.

Four stars from me – a really enjoyable story that I would definitely recommended!

Julia and Michalis seem to be the perfect couple on the surface, but that image crumbles when she catches him with his mistress. In response she takes herself and her secret, and hightails it out of town. Over a year later her husband turns up supposedly wanting to settle their divorce.

Instead he is determined to take their child, the secret she has been coveting and taking care of by herself. Every instinct she has is telling her to run and hide, if it wasn’t for that pesky physical attraction she has to him. The two of them are drawn to each other like magnets.

The character of Michalis has a whiff of romanticised misogyny, which is perfectly normal in this genre and type of story. Come with me now and do anything I want you to do for thirty days or I will take from you what you love the most. Caveman tactics and blackmail to convince the woman you subconsciously love, but openly despise to ‘help’ her to make the right decision.

The focus of the story is a series of misunderstandings, which lead to a heartbreaking crevice in the relationship of a couple who love and lust for each other, and yet are afraid to admit it.

Chara brings back the passion and whirlwind of emotions of 80’s bodice-rippers, but in a modern day setting. It’s perfect for readers looking for a little romance mixed with titillating sexual attraction, and a tug-of-war of emotions.

This novel sizzles from start to finish and for people who enjoy their romance with a great dollop of sexiness, it will hit the mark. I don't read many books from this genre, but stepped out of my comfort zone and gave it a go, despite its rather clumsy title. It is a fairly short, enjoyable read although the lack of communication between Julia and Michalis did get rather frustrating as they seemed to deliberately misunderstand each other!

The two protagonists are stubborn, proud and volatile which makes for some explosive scenes between them. There were few surprises in the plot as the reader seems to be able to deduce what has happened even if they can't but if you are after an escapist read with some stunning settings, you will enjoy it immensely.

In short: contemporary romance with attitude.
Thanks to the author for a copy of the book

When Julia finds her husband with another woman that is the end no matter how rich or how handsome he is. But Michalis Leonidis a Greek tycoon doesn’t share the same meaning with her. He wants revenge and he is furious. It is not about a billion dollar deal broken or his marriage but he can’t pass through the secret Julia hides from him. So, Michalis gets big vengeance on her.

The story is typical romance there is everything that one good romance book could have two persons in love but they hate each other, one big secret which leads the tale ahead, hot- cold situation and many things which I love.

I like Julia because she knows what she wants. She is an independent woman who doesn’t have only beauty but also has other qualification to be great female.

“Not long ago, she’d owned countless such designer gowns, shoes, jewellery, and had the man- the life- to go with it. A sound gurgled in her throat, and the girl cast her odd look. Julia swallowed and turned away, blinking back the tears pressing against her lids.”

One of the we-are-enemies scenes:

…when he shifted his eyes to her, his tender look became eclipsed…

“Don’t look at me like that,” she’d said between her teeth.

“Like what?”

“Like I’ve committed some great sin.”

He scratched his cheek with the pad odd his thumb. “Conscience nipping at you?”

“No,” she hissed. “ It’s not my conscience that’s guilty, it’s-“

I recommend this novel to everyone who wants easy romantic story especially to read on the beach.

4☆ A Short Paced Drama filled Contemporary Romance

Greek Millionaire, Unruly Wife is a beautifully short read that packs alot in.

This book really does prove that you shouldn't jump to conclusions without facts.
When Julia catches Michalis with another women she assumes he is cheating on her and takes off. Even though they are married.

Michalis needs Julia and rather than asking her for help he uses underhanded tactics to get her to do exactly what he wants.

I didn't particularly like Michalis. I didn't like the way he treats Julia. Using blackmail.
It was clearly obvious they had alot of sexual chemistry between them.
They have a very feisty and argumentative passionate relationship which in a weird way works for them.

I always enjoy Sun's books. I just wish we got more character development as things move so fast in such a short time we miss out on the connection you get with a longer book.
Having said that the plot is good, the characters passionate and the pace wild.

I also just want to mention how gorgeous the Cover is. That Emerald green dress just catches the eye.

If you enjoy short fast paced, passionate, argumentative, drama filled contemporary romances then this will definitely appeal to you.

Please take me to Greece. I want to see the sparkle of Athens and I want to swim in the clear waters of the Aegean Sea. Sun Chara set this romance story in Mykonos and it’s hard not to imagine falling in love or falling in love again, as is the case here, against such a stunning backdrop. I think I fell in love with Mykonos while reading this story.

It is a story of reconnecting with a past love. It’s a story about swallowing pride. It’s a story about forgiving. Julia is a former model who exchanged the fast paced life for domestic bliss with the love of her life. Perhaps she’s just a bit too quick to make harsh and incorrect assumptions. There’s not much in her past to make her believe the best of people. Her inability to trust anyone, even the man she supposedly loves, is something she must overcome to find happiness, or at least peace.

While we get a fair picture of Julia, Michalis is less well-developed. He comes across as cold, arrogant and entirely too fixated on revenge. His alpha male characterisation is intense. It would have been lovely to see more depth and development in his character.

The pacing of this book is good. The story moves forward and the flashbacks used are to the point and serve to push the overall story forward.

I do wish there were more scenes or conversations involving their daughter. Michalis claims to need his daughter in his life so much that he even blackmails and threatens Julia. Yet, he very promptly puts a nanny in place and whisks a reluctant Julia off on a getaway.

Overall, the story is a bit predictable but still a fun and romantic read.

I am a huge fan of Sun Chara’s books. Her books are fun, escapist and sexy romances full of glitz, glamour, gorgeous heroes and feisty heroines and Greek Millionaire, Unruly Wife is certainly no exception. Packed with emotion, heat and heart, find your nearest sun lounger, pour yourself a glass of something chilled and sparkling, switch your phone off and indulge in this terrific romantic read!

Greek millionaire Michalis Leonadis is not used to being thwarted. A man who always gets what he wants and who is not used to opposition of any kind, Michalis is a man dedicated to his business. He is a man who works hard and plays even harder and he is a man who does not suffer fools gladly. He never forgives and he certainly never forgets. When his bride bolts after the first sign of trouble, he cannot help but be annoyed. However, that is nothing compared to the avalanche of rage he feels when she ends up costing him a billion dollar deal. Michalis is absolutely furious and he is out for revenge. Nobody jeopardizes his business and lives to tell the tale. He is not going to allow this incident to be swept under the carpet and be forgotten about. Michalis has vengeance on his mind and he is a man who always achieves his goals. He will make Julia pay for ruining everything – especially when he discovers that she has also kept a very big secret from him!

Former model Julia Armstrong had given up everything for Michalis! She had truly believed that her marriage to the Greek millionaire was forever and had thought that she was going to be spending the rest of her life with him – until she caught him with another woman! Crushed and betrayed, Julia couldn’t believe that Michalis would betray her like that, so she walked out on their marriage and vowed never to clap eyes on her Greek husband ever again. So she was flabbergasted when he sauntered back into her life seeking retribution. Michalis wants a divorce – but only if she relinquishes the one thing she loves and prizes more than anything else in the world: her daughter. Her child is simply not part of the deal. But there is another bargaining chip remaining: Julia herself!

Michalis knows that he should refuse Julia’s ridiculous and risible proposition. But resisting his unwilling wife is easier said than done. Will it be second chance lucky for Michalis and Julia or are there simply too many obstacles standing in their way?

Greek Millionaire, Unruly Wife is the perfect summer read! Indulgent, passionate, heartwarming and deliciously decadent, Greek Millionaire, Unruly Wife is a fabulous tale of big business, second chances and starting over that sparkles with witty repartee, red-hot romance, searing drama and powerful emotion. With a fabulous Alpha hero, a gorgeous heroine and plenty of twists and turns, Greek Millionaire, Unruly Wife is another winner by Sun Chara!

You know the saying, ‘I’ll try anything once’? Well, that doesn’t apply to me because there is no way I am ever going to do a sky dive or cuddle up to a tarantula. However, when it comes to books it is true, I’ll give anything a go and, as I’ve said before, my aim on the blog this year has been to push myself out of my comfort zone and try some novels that I would not usually choose.

This is another of those books. This is a genre that I haven’t really picked up since my friends and I passed around illicit copies of Jackie Collins and Shirley Conran novels in school with the saucy pages dog-eared (do you remember the goldfish scene in Lace? We were scandalised!). Anybody who enjoys this raunchy style of contemporary women’s fiction is going to love this novel.

The two main characters in this book, Julia and Michalis are everything you would expect – attractive, glamorous, strong-willed and passionate. They seemed to be made for each other and marry after a whirlwind romance but are driven apart by his errant behaviour. When they part, Julia is nursing a huge secret that causes Michalis to track her down twelve months later, purportedly for revenge, but all is not what it seems and the love story for these two may not be over.

There is a lot to appeal to lovers of this genre in the book. Beautiful people, jetset lifestyle, gorgeous and exotic settings and passion so steamy it is practically curling the pages. There were some aspects of the story I found a little frustrating, particularly the fact that all the angst could have been sorted out quite easily with a simple conversation. However, there are two very stubborn, proud and independent people so I guess it is not very surprising that neither is willing to show weakness to the other by admitting their true feelings.

There were some aspects of the book that made me a bit uncomfortable; the way he blackmails her into spending time with him and is very forceful, but I know this is a popular trope in the genre and this type of ultra-dominant make lead is attractive to many women. To be fair, Julia is feisty and can hold her own and I didn’t feel the tone crossed the line into being abusive. I guess it is just not my particular fantasy but if the idea of being swept off your feet by a rich and powerful man floats your dream mega-yacht, I am sure Michalis will have you swooning.

This book is a quick and pacy read, perfect for anyone who wants a steamy story of glamour and passion to keep them company on their sun lounger, and I really love the title. Unruly is the perfect way to be!

This book was very reminiscent of those old-school stereo typical romances... The entire book was built on the premise of A huge misunderstanding.... a misunderstanding that could have been avoided IF these characters actually talk to one another.... does this sound familiar? A lot like an American soap opera where characters are stomping around seeking revenge for things that never even happened.... very over-the-top, yet entertaining for entertainment’s sake....

It’s hard to pack much character development into such a small book... yet, you could feel the chemistry between Mike and Julia, even if it showed itself in anger most of the time... A rich millionaire who cannot believe he was dumped... a beautiful wife who feels scorned... very cliché however I found it comforting...

Recommend when you’re in the mood for an Old school romance❤️

*** many thanks to the author and Rachel at Rachel’s Random Resources for my copy of this book ***

I will admit right here and now that I am a sucker for a Harlequin-esque romance as I cut my teeth on all those Harlequin Presents books back in the day! So when I read the blurb for this one I was totally reminded of those good oldies and couldn't resist giving it a try.

It really does read like one of those Harlequins as we meet the characters after all the drama has happened and like any good Greek millionaire husband scorned (so he believed) he wants his revenge on the woman who left him. And like any woman who believed her too-good-to-be-true husband and romance has been shattered by cheating she is not going to give in too easily to his demands.

Likes: Great chemistry between the characters, lots of high drama, misunderstandings that could be easily fixed if they would only get off their high horses and admit their feelings, OTT settings and proclamations.

Dislikes: Maybe the length of the story - too much of a good thing and all that. For me it felt like the story dragged on for too many pages. There was also maybe a bit too much cheesiness. A few of the descriptions were maybe too OTT... Also as well as on the good side it rates on the bad - they could have easily wrapped things up sooner if they had just talked!!

An entertaining read that maybe won't be for everyone but if you liked the old school Harlequin's then this will be right up your alley (like mine!)

Greek Millionaire, Unruly Wife is a cheesy, old fashioned story with a familiar trope: miscommunication, or actually, no communication, leads to heartbreak. Julia thinks her husband, Greek billionaire, Michalis, has cheated on her, so she leaves him and heads to Paris, where she gives birth to their daughter and revives her old modeling career.

A year later, Michalis sees her and demands a month of her time to be spent in his bed, or he'll take custody of their daughter. Blackmailing is also a familiar trope, and a pretty mean one, at that. Of course, Julia still loves Michalis and is attracted to him, so of course she falls back into bed with him, even though she hates him, too. And Michalis hates her, too, but he wants revenge upon his wife and he takes it. If these two had spent a few minutes talking, none of all this cheesy drama would have happened, and they would have still be happily married. But, no, they didn't communicate, didn't explain, hence the heartbreak all around. Ugh.

And before I end this review, I have to say that the title of this story is one of the worst I've ever seen. Not only is it clunky, but come on, Unruly Wife?!? What is this, the 1950s where a wife has to be a good little woman and never act out?! Whatever.

Michalis said he would take the model. Julia had cost Michalis a marriage and a billion dollars in a Tokyo deal gone wrong. Julia had shredded Michalis’s heart cost him his pride,. Applause broke out for Julia it splintered Michalis’s thoughts and spiked his fury…. His passion for revenge. Her untimely exit had rocked Michalis’s sphere and his bank account . Julia had nearly bankrupted him. Michalis had put everything on hold to search for Julia and to clean up the legal mess his uncle ‘s amour had created when she’d charmed -scammed the old guy into signing away half the Leonadis fortune. The fortune Michalis had slaved over years to amass. When he found out Julia was living it up in Paris., he had shut her out and scrambled out to save his business and stay afloat he would waste no more time on her. Michalis liked everything simple and Julia was anything but simple. He likes to keep his focus razor sharp, his mind alert his instinct in play and a quantum leap over his competition. This had helped Michalis years ago when he had taken over his uncle's run down tourist boat rentals in Athens and built it into a mega international shipping line Michalis had given Julia the world and at the first sign of rough waters she had run she’d jumped ship and created a tidal wave of confusion. In three months Julia’s creams had soured in her fantastic marriage to the Greek millionaire fractured but Julia hadn’t left empty handed. If Chach hadn’t been on this fashion show she would not have been able to make rent. At twenty eight and had been away from the fashion circuit for a year and model opportunities were few and far between . What was Michalis doing here after a year of silence. Michalis the man who she once loved and now hated. What did he want and know Julia had come home one day and found Michalis fresh from a shower than a woman appeared in a skinny negligee. Julia said “ you’ve been caught”. Julia never got to tell Michalis she was pregnant and since she had left she had a daughter and named her Amy. Julia met Michalis and she reminded herself she couldn’t let him see that he still affected her , too dangerous for Julia’s mind , emotions, and world. She remain immune to his charm, his magnetism, and his potent sexuality. Michalis wants Julia and Amy to come to Athens for one month and he could get to know his daughter but he can also use Julia for his needs. Julia had been abandoned as a child and she would never do that to her own child. Amy was now three months old. Then Michalis takes Julia on the yacht for the weekend. They got caught in a storm , damage was done to the boat and they had to swim to Mermaids Grotto. There was a hole in the yacht now. They did make it to the grotto.
I enjoyed this story. It was a very good read. It did drag a little for me, but not enough to really get in the way. I love how Julia loved Amy and wasn’t going to let Michalis take their daughter from her no matter what she had to do. I was also happy it was proven to Julia Michalis did not cheat on her. Julia’s fear of abandonment had colored her thinking. I was happy for Julia and Michalis they deserved to be happy and a family with Amy and the past to be put behind them. I love the characters and the ins and outs of this story and I recommend.

'Greek Millionaire, Unruly Wife' by Sun Chara is the story of Michalis and Julia.
Julia up and left Michalis after she caught him with what she thought was another women. Now a year later she Michalis has found her and wants her back for a few months...which he blackmails her to do so. Julia goes forward with being with him but only agrees for One month. Michalis is angry with Julia for leaving him and also causing him a great loss of money.
So Julia and Michalis are both l living with a misunderstanding of each other.
This was a really great 'mental break' read for me and so I had to read it to the end in one sitting!

***ARC received in exchange of an honest opinion***

Hm, I admit I didn't expect this book to be a mastepiece of literature when I saw it on Netgalley. I was expecting it to be a cliché, but I have a weak spot for CEO romances.

This one was beyond cliché, though, it was very cheesy. And although I like the writing style of starting a story in the present with characters that already have a history, reading this book I felt like I missed a previous book. Things that happened to thr main characters in the past were mentioned, but there wasn't more to them and they weren't really explained.

To me it felt incomplete and sloppy. And even though I do like CEO romances, I need them o be less cheesy for me to enjoy them, even if it's just for entertainment. They don't need to be complicated or over the top, or masterpieces, but I need a more "complete" and "full-circle" story.

To be honest I can't say I enjoyed this book. It was readable but only just. I wanted to shake the female character quite a few times. The plot was very much whirlwind courtship, then misunderstanding, with husband out to get even after discovering her secret. A tad sexist as well. Lots of passion and deep thinking but also lots of childishness. Other may like this type of genre but felt it was too rushed and the characters could have been given more substance.

Lovely romantic romance book. If you like quick reads with lots of passion in the pages you can't go wrong with this book. Enjoy!

This novel opens up with the major action already over. Greek millionaire (who knew there were any left in Greece with the state of their economy?) coming after his wife who left him when she saw him with another woman. In the interim since she fled, she had a baby and now he wants them both back, or at least his daughter. She’s a model in Paris and he shows up and forces her to go spend time in the Greek islands with him.

For a man who is so eager to get his daughter back, he doesn’t spend much if any time with the baby. And it turns out that everything between them could have been resolved with about 30 seconds of honest conversation instead of silent resentment. I always find that so irritating. If he knows that she misunderstood something perfectly innocent, why not open up his millionaire mouth and tell her so? Why wait a year to go after her?

Add in some very unlikely coincidences in her family background and more unnecessary misunderstandings and I just found myself wanting to slap both main characters and tell them to sit down and actually talk to each other.

I was given a free ARC of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
