It took a while for me to get into this but when I did it gripped me. Each of the characters have complex personalities making you unsure of who to believe. Some surprising twists which I didn't see coming. Overall an enjoyable read and glad to have found the author.

I finished this ages ago, just noticed I haven't submitted anything, Thanks to Netgalley for the chance to read this book. Actually bought my own copy, However, this is one of those times I think a movie would be better than the book, so it would be cool if there was one,

I enjoyed this book but really can not understand the hype it has created. I don't think I will be recommending this to anyone because I honestly think I will forget it very soon. Sorry.

I apologise for not having reviewewed this book, but it came at a particularly difficult time in my life and I'll confess that I forgot all about it.

Surprisingly for this author I just couldn’t not get into the pace of this title and ended up with the book unfinished half way through. The book jumps from present day back to the past which in this case can be confusing. I’ve read a number of other titles from the author which have been better for me. There is a lot of detail in the story and usually that would be good. Just not this time, . Thank you for the chance to read it though.

HE SAID/SHE SAID by ERIN KELLY is a slow-building, dark, and twisted psychological thriller that is cleverly formatted into parts that conforms to the five stages of a total eclipse of the sun. With each phase of the eclipse more details are revealed to us.

I had heard raving reviews about this book so I was looking forward to reading it, unfortunately I think I am in the minority who couldn't see what the fuss was about. It was slow, drawn out and it took ages to finally reveal what the actual incident was. I didn't warm to any of the characters and found them all to be a bit self obsessed. With a good book, I can't put them down - with this it was a struggle to pick it up and it took me a while to finish it. The author made a big deals about some events which in the end was just a massive anti climax. Lots of waffle about eclipses and weather which was just to fill up the pages and totally irrelevant. Got a bit better in the second half but hardly gripping. I won't be reading any more of this author.

Many thanks to Netgalley for the advance preview.

Oooooo what an interesting read and who to believe? Yes it might be a little slow for some people but I enjoyed the twisty ride and the outcome. Highly recommended.

I am grateful to Netgalley for providing a free copy of this ebook for me to read but all opinions are my own.

I get excited when an author finds an original way to tell a story. The various voices and shifting timeline od He Said/She Said certainly succeed in creating an original and exciting piece of storytelling.

Although I wanted to romp through the pages on my Kindle as fast as I could I found that if I took the time to stop and reflect at the end of a chapter before rushing headlong into the next then all sorts of subtle nuances came to the fore which helped me to understand the characters better and see how they had developed and changed over the years.

The idea of truth-telling and whose interpretation of events is more truthful is explored throughout the book. Can it ever be better to lie in order to serve a greater truth or should the truth be sacrosanct and the consequences be dealt with later on? How do we even know what the real truth is anyway?

These questions are cleverly and subtly explored throughout the book.

Everybody has a different version of the truth Their own unique interpretation of events that lead to unimagined consequences.

I have to admit the twist at the end caught me totally by surprise. It was not what I was expecting but once I had caught my breath and reflected on the journey taken by Laura, Kit and Beth it was the obvious outcome.

All the strands of time and all the different perspectives wove together to make the perfect ending to this clever and unusual story that had me gripped from beginning to end.

This book is not my usual subject matter however from the first page I was hooked, I found it difficult to put down and the storyline really pulled me in. I did find the differing timelines confusing and had to check the date of the story that was being referred to often, however as I got through the book and the story unfolded it became clear how important this was to the story. I loved that the ending wasn't what I expected and have recommended this book to friends since.

After reading countless so called thrillers which all end up a bit ridiculous this was a relief. A proper thriller with a proper story that kept me reading into the night.

I am currently developing a section of the school library that will present a diverse and eclectic range of contemporary crime and thriller novels. This genre has been so popular in terms of what is being borrowed, but I feel like the young people are sticking to 'what they know' in terms of titles or writers that they've already heard of or have seen their parents reading. My mission is to include more novels like this one and improve the range and diversity of fiction that they can choose from in order to expand their reading horizons. I absolutely loved this book. It kept me gripped from the very first page and without giving away any spoilers, was a dark, intense and satisfying journey that dealt with important issues in a thought provoking way. I think that the young people will love its distinctive voice as well as be gripped by the story and intrigued to follow it to its tense conclusion. I recommend this book to anyone who is looking for intelligent, credible writing with a strong hook that won't let you go. Treat yourself to He Said/She Said

Wanted to read this as I am a fan of Erin Kelly. Started a bit slow and the jumping about the different time line was a little confusing.
The nub of the book is about lies and the consequences . Little ones to start with that just get bigger .
I didn't find this book as satisfying but still a good read ,a worthwhile holiday book .

He Said/She Said is an intriguing and well written thriller, I really enjoyed it and will be recommending it. The twists were certainly unexpected, and although some plot points seem to have been abandoned slightly it was a satisfying read, I will search out Erin Kelly in the future.

This is a fantastic thriller. It's fast-paced, suspenseful and packed with twists and turns. Gender relations form a profound undercurrent that gives this book the edge over genre crime fiction.

I really enjoyed this and it's further proof of Kelly's excellent writing.

'He Said, She Said' by Erin Kelly will have you exploring the issues of trust and perspective like you never have before. Three characters come together, Kit, Laura and Beth, but who is telling the truth? What is the real story?
1999, Cornwall, and Kit and Laura attend one of the many eclipses they spend their time chasing around the world. Kit is there first; Laura joins him later. They are young, they are carefree and they are having fun...until they meet Beth. The first time Laura catches sight of Beth she is lying face down in the dirt, her clothes pushed aside, the man on top caught in the middle of a rape. But is he? So the story truly begins as the story goes to court, and the secrets begins to unravel from their tightly wrapped and fiercely guarded roll of lies!
So many different perspectives, so many different points of view to one story! Erin Kelly keeps her readers firmly where she wants them until she is ready for the big reveal, which I really didn't see coming!
I thoroughly enjoyed 'He Said/She Said' and give it four stars.

He Said/She Said seems like a pretty basic thriller at first, but Erin Kelly's storytelling keeps you hooked. If you read thrillers, or even watch crime-type shows on television, you've seen this story before, and you have a feeling what will happen. At least you think you have. But Kelly never rests on plot-as-usual; she stretches everything to the limit, so just as some of the things you expect to happen do, the next second you're shocked by what else unfolds.

The book may get a little more melodramatic than it needs to at times, and because certain aspects of the story take a while to unfold, I found myself confused by the behavior of some of the characters. But this was a really well-written book

This was a slow burner full of twists and turns set against a backdrop of solar eclipses. In the end you don't know who to believe in this story spread over a series of years.

A challenging subject matter - but the tautness of the plot hooks the reader right in. At first, I didn't warm to the characters but as my relationship with the characters grew so did my empathy with the protagonists. Even the illustrations at the start of chapters grew in significance, again in proportion to my appreciation for the book.

As various time frames are used throughout the reader is never left confused or bewildered. This is because the book envelopes your consciousness and stays with you. I didn't start off particularly liking the story but by the end I loved it and that's because of some of the challenges presented. A fine novel, not sure I'd recommend it as a holiday read but I recommend it for any other time
