A bit scattered and I'm unsure of it's purpose but if you want a shit load of randomness this is the book for you.
I tried to read this, but couldn't get past the first chapter. The tone was off for me.
A cheeky and at times, funny (at times rather long winded), collection of insightful essays. It was hard to tell if the author was attempting sarcasm in certain parts, or if the whole work was meant to be completely serious. I think I would have appreciated this more had I shared a nationality with the author or at least followed British politics.
Twenty-six temper tantrums but mildly amusing at times.
Author David Fletcher expounds on 26 areas, literally from A to Z. He chooses his facts selectively in order to prove his points, which are generally on the libertarian side. Even when I agreed with what he writes, I also recognize that he uses extreme examples to prove his point, for example when discussing cultural appropriation. If you agree with Fletcher's views you will probably enjoy the book, but if you don't, you will find his discussions are more like temper tantrums. He does have a good sense of humor and his writing, whether you agree with him or not, can be witty and sarcastic.
Disclosure: I received a complimentary copy of this book via Netgalley for review purposes.
