A sibling relationship is said to be one of the most meaningful of all and this book demonstrates the pull of a sisters love ...... and loyalty and trust. Not all things are as them seem though.
This book explores the past and present relationships of the two sister who were estranged for many years and I was never quite sure where the book would take me. It kept me guessing until the end.
I got a little confused at times with the jumping around but on the whole, thoroughly enjoyable
"Little Sister" by Isabel Ashdown. I was first drawn to this debut Psychological Thriller by its cover. I loved the eerie dark skies above the bright beach huts, where the two young sisters stood huddled together.
This book depicts just how tense and incredibly strong sisters relationships can be. There was a dark undertone running through this fantastic book, you never quite know who is telling the truth, who to trust or who to like.
The characters were depicted so well that I could fully understand why they each acted like they did. There were times when I wish I could have taken the characters to one side and advised them as I would to my own friends.
A solid and most enjoyable read, I look forward to reading more from this author in the near future.
Wasn't sure about this book when I first started but a few chapters in I was hooked. The twists and turns made me very unsure of the way things were going which compelled me to read to the end. So glad I was given this opportunity to read this book, thoroughly recommended.
Little Sister kept me guessing and I loved the clever way the author dropped in tiny snippets about the history between the two sisters as the story unfolded. The stakes are high as a baby girl has disappeared and I was desperate for the family as days and days go by with no progress in the investigation. But this book is so much more than a great story, full of suspense. Isabel Ashdown is a skilled author with a wonderful way with words that makes her characters absolutely real and totally believable. Even those who only made cameo appearances were brilliantly sketched. The descriptions of the relationship between the sisters when they were younger were brilliant. I was really drawn into this story. I hated putting the book down and couldn’t wait to get back to it. I even snuck in some daytime reading, desperate to see what would happen next. It’s well worth a read.
