Never Out of Sight gripped me from the first few pages, it was well written, had me hooked and I had to keep on reading to find out what would happen.
Zoe who is 16 years old has gone missing but is this to do with the family secrets or lies or is something else going on? Loved the twists that I did not see coming.

Thanks to netgalley for the opportunity to have read this book. It is the second book by Ms Stone I've read, and she just gets better. The book kept me guessing from beginning to end, and I couldn't wait to see how it ended up! Recommended.

"Never out of Sight" started of rather well and was really suspenseful, but the ending was a little to exaggerated for my taste. The writing is decent enough and sucks you in but none of the characters is likable which makes it a little difficult to get invested in their fates.

I really enjoyed the book, it has everything I love in a novel from start to finish. I can’t wait to read what the author has planned next!

This psychological thriller is full of twists and has a shocking ending that I didn't see coming. This author also addresses the issue of post-partum depression that is finally being acknowledged as a disease that affects a large portion of women each year. I would recommend this as a quick read psychological thriller that can be read in one sitting.

Zoe is missing and mum Freya knows it's all her fault. Not only has she taken her eye off the ball, neglected her family and been seduced by one of her graduate students, but she has done the unthinkable - used a night when her husband is away to spend the time with her young lover abondoning her daughter to her own devices. She hasn't even realised Zoe is missing initially and is finding it hard to explain why without giving away her secret.

The story is full of secrets, lies and bad choices and the ultimate question - how well we can ever know someone else? What does Freya really know about her lover, or her husband who seems to have secrets of his own, or even her daughter, Zoe?

If you like them twist with red herrings galore, this is the thriller for you!

Normally I write my reviews as soon as I have finished the book. Mostly so my views are fresh and I dont forget that I have to do it.
For various reasons this month I have not been able to do any of the reviews of the books I have read. I suppose I could of written them by hand but thats just hard work isnt it?

I have read S for Stranger by the same author and from memory recalled that I liked it, However looking back at the review It seems that I wasn't as enamoured as I thought. So I re-read it and have to admit that I was being extremely unfair in my review and maybe if I had time to think about it before jumping in and writing the first thing on my mind my reviews wouldn't be so shotgun.

Ignoring my earlier review and after re-reading S for Stranger I can safely say that I am a fan of Louise Stone. She has a great knack for writing characters that are emotionally flawed and not really likeable and at times utterly frustrating in the decisions they make or the conclusions they dont come to when they really should.

Freya really had me conflicted. She got everything wrong and assumed so much it ruined her life. As much as I tried I just couldn't dislike her mainly because the image of her I had in my head was of Masterchef winner Jane Devonshire and she is so lovely isnt she?

The story was an exciting one that could of gone many ways, I was pulled in a few directions before the climax of the book made it clear what was going on. The ending was exciting and well thought out, which for me is a bonus, as I have a big problem with poor endings.

Overall a good book that I highly recommend.

What a page turner! Gripping from start to finish, with realistic well drawn characters. I'll be looking out for more books from this author.
Many thanks to Netgalley for the ARC.

Never out of sight is a book full of secrets and mystery & more twists and turns than you can imagine.

Did I love this book- hell yeah!

It kept me guessing till the very very end and still I had no clue!!
I was on the edge of my seat the whole time trying to guess the mystery and then Bang... another secret.. another twist...the further from the truth I got!
This was a page turner I couldn't put down.

Zoe is a 16year old girl who has suddenly gone missing.

Her mum Freya and Dad Stephen are not getting on.
They have their own dark secrets and those secrets, neither parent want them coming out.
What isn't a secret is how much hate Stephen has for Freya because she had post natal depression when she had Zoe and he cannot forgive Freya.
Freya feels unloved and unwanted by her family.
Stephen makes sure Zoe gets everything she ever wants.... so why has she gone missing??

As everyone knows secrets have a way of revealing themselves.
We are quick to learn Zoe isn't quiet the innocent teen we come to believe she might be.
Freya blames Zoe's best friend Keira for leading Zoe astray.
But is it Keira or Zoe that is doing the influencing?

I'm afraid I can't give any more of the story away as I really don't want to spoil it, and boy is it a shocker!

For me Stephen annoyed me. He blamed Freya for literally everything! But he was never around just like Freya. But yet because he bought Zoe's love he thought that was acceptable. He was a bully emotionally.

Freya came across weak at times. I wanted to scream at her and shake her..... to stop hiding secrets tell the truth. Surely getting her daughter back should of been paramount.
When she eventually did do something it was too late in my eyes.

I liked Detective Carter. He never judged Freya and he seemed to support her. He was kind but firm and had a way of getting Freya to open up and still he knew when to back off and when to take charge.

For me the ending... hmm it was a shocker as I truly didn't see it coming.

Did I like it??

I'm not sure to be honest. The twist was good the outcome was a little poor.
It was left in a good place as even now I'm curious of the result of what happened.
However it has been left so that Louise can continue writing if she chose to.

I for one don't believe the outcome I want to know what happened next!

I absolutely loved this book it took me on a journey of secrets and how those secrets can break a family.
It was cleverly written and had me guessing at every chapter.

I loved Louise's style of writing. She was able to draw me in. Get my brain juices flowing then drop me a twist and I was back to guessing.

Highly recommend this book if you love thrillers with an air of mystery and suspense. That will keep you guessing right into the night.

This book was a non-stop thrill ride with twists and turns all over the place! The characters were complex and very well developed. The relationship dynamics were interesting and well defined. The ending is a shocker, that you don't see coming!

I like how Stone took all the separate, abstract "brush strokes" of the main character Freya's life and blended them so artistically to form one cohesive literary picture. I would definitely, and most eagerly, read another book by Stone.

A decent enough thriller that kept me reading. I don't need to like the characters in order to enjoy a book but I really didn't like one character! The mother was something else! I think all 3--the mother, father, and daughter--were fucked up. I was curious to see how it all played out in the end & I really wasn't disappointed. It didn't pack a punch but it left me satisfied.

Never Out of Sight gripped me because I felt that this could happen to anyone.

Freya is a woman approaching 50 who is searching for the woman she once was. When she finds a way to do just that, she does not realise how much that affects her life and those in it.
Now her daughter is missing.

As the narrative advances, we watch Freya unravel as she realises she doesn't really know her own daughter. I was torn between feeling sorry for her and judging her for being so focused on herself and all the self-wallowing, until I reached that conclusion that it really could happen to everyone. If you don't pay attention, life just goes by, and those who you take for granted may not be there one day and then it is too late to say you love them.

Therefore, this was thought-provoking and heartbreaking. I did feel however that the book got a bit repetitive. Things kept being said over and over as if it was the first time, like when Freya talks about her own parents not showing her love, for instance. When that happened I felt the book dragged on a bit and became uninterested.

It was still very exciting for the most part, though, and even if I had somewhat anticipated what had happened and a couple of things felt off-character, there were still plenty of surprises towards the chilling end. This was a thrilling read and I recommend it.

It's not often that I will read a book, intensely dislike all of the characters and yet still continue to read it, in fact I couldn't put it down and found myself yelling at them even though they weren't listening to me, I needed to know how it ended and it had me glued to my seat until the last page where I had to stop myself from throwing my kindle across the room!

I highly, highly recommend this book, please get a hold of it and read it, tell me if you feel the same as me about it or if I'm crazy.

The story line was interesting although I didn't really like any of the characters but perhaps that was intended. The end was certainly a surprise and overall it left me satisfied. I would read other books by the author after reading this one.

I decided to read and review this because I need to try and broaden my horizons with crime books. It's rare I choose a novel like this (apart from Stephen King's thrillers of course) due to them quite often making me terribly bored!
I thought it was well written and I'm glad to say that it didn't feel like an amateur writer, but unfortunately it felt like an amateur writer of crime. Unique crime anyway. This is exactly the reason I don't read stuff like this. The story line was boring and typical of crime thrillers and it wasn't different or exciting. It started to get a little more interesting when I was halfway through and the ending was interesting (although predictable), but it still felt like a typical crime book. Nothing majorly gripping.
By the time I was 70% in, I was getting irritated with the 'to-ing and fro-ing' with the story, because one minute you were about to learn something new then it went back to nothing interesting happening.
Even the big reveal at about 90% was dull.
Well written but it wasn't exactly a 'chilling psychological thriller' like the cover claims.

This was a gripping thriller I didn't like Freya very much and think this may have taken the edge off the book slightly for me, I certainly didn't like her husband either, and I didn't feel emotionally attached to the characters I wish I had felt more involved.Having said that I still wanted to find out what was going on and was invested in the story. It was a twisty ride and well worth a read. Thanks to netgalley and the publishers for an ARC in return for an honest review.

Never out of sight by louise Stone is a horror and mystery and thriller read.
A daughter’s secret. A mother’s betrayal.
Every mother knows never to let their child out of their sight. But Freya has been distracted recently, and now her teenage daughter, Zoe, is missing.
Freya knows that the only way to bring Zoe back is to tell the truth, but when your whole life is built on secrets and lies, the truth could destroy everything.
Surely there’s no harm in telling just one more little white lie?
Wow. OMG. Wow. Absolutely fantastic read with brilliant characters. And omg I didn't see that coming. Highly recommended. 5*. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book from netgalley.
