The story kept me captivated from beginning to end. The characters were well thought out and the story was so enjoyable. Carmody goes through so much in her life and you can really sense the changes she goes through from the beginning of the story to the end of the story. I wouldn't call this story historical romance. It seems to be a little bit more like historical fiction with a little romance thrown in. The only bad thing I have to say about the story is that when Carmody finally gets her happily ever after we don't get any more to that story. It would have been nice to have a an epilogue to see how Carmody and Mark ended up. I really did love this story though. It's different from anything that I've read recently and I highly recommend it. I received an ARC from net galley for an honest review.
