This book is rich in detail, it also tackles the shell shock/cowardice spectre that haunts the history of WW1 however, this book had so much potential but it goes nowhere, nothing is resolved, if I'm going to read a book about a highly emotive subject at least make it worth my while! While I can see the author has done his research well and understood the material, he has failed to translate that into good fiction! It's really a wasted opportunity to highlight a sad and shocking area of our history through the means of fiction! I'm quite disappointed!
