I've been very particular about YA books lately as I sadly realised that I might have outgrown the genre entirely.
The makeover trope is one of my least favourites and I found the plot was too surface-level. I ended up DNFing at around 36%.
I'm sure it would still be an appealing read for a younger audience and it's my own fault for only picking it up now.
