After reading the book Queen Victoria, Her Life and Reign, the curiosity on this so popular monarch increases considerably. It is a very detailed description of the English kingdom of the late nineteenth century, bringing forth many interesting topics. An excellent gift for all Victorian history enthusiasts. It's a very long book, but it's worth it both in time and in information.

This was a good read. I've read quite a bit on Victoria so for me there was not too much information that I hadn't already heard or come across. For someone who hasn't read too much into Queen Victoria this would be a good read to pick up.

I enjoyed learning more about Victoria, though this was written during her lifetime and is very bias towards her.
The book contains lots of information that is not necessary, causing me to skim read a lot of the book and it could easily have been edited out. The author (because of when it was written) expects the audience to have a lot of knowledge on who's who, this could have been solved by adding footnotes or paragraphs explaining who people are. A family tree also would have been useful.

Book received from NetGalley.

This was an entertaining book, the best I can say about it is it was written by someone who lived during the reign of Queen Victoria and didn't have to rely on written records to describe the Queen to the reader. That being said, it's another book about Queen Victoria, she's interesting but how many books do we actually need on this one monarch, especially when it's mostly rehashing things we already know. I enjoyed the fact that the author used quoted correspondence between Queen Victoria, her family, and the peers of the realm when possible to make her see more real and less of an unreachable figurehead. For that reason as well as the fact it was written by someone who lived during her reign are the reasons I gave it 3 stars.

It was a comprehensive read. However, the information was a little bit outdated. Still, a good book for its historical value.

After having read the book Victoria, I was curious to find out more about this popular Monarch and I was very happy when I got a copy of this book through NetGalley in exchange for a review, which I am happy to provide. It really goes into great detail about the Queens Reign, her beloved husband and her children, which is something I knew very little about, though at times all the titles were a bit confusing, I found it a very interesting read that kept me up late into the night. This would make a great gift for any history buff and it made me more curious to find out more about the Royal and the tired-less work they do. It is a pretty long book but well worth your time.
