This is my first book from this author. It started off promising. It's present day, and the story is told through the eyes of someone who is in a vegetative state with no way to communicate but is aware of what is going on, also known as locked-in syndrome. The the chapters switch back and forth from present day to 3 years ago. The story was slow for me and I really disliked the main character. Therefore the 3 star rating. There's a twist at the end, but the blurb already lets you know that so that defeats the element of surprise.

I have heard good things about the author so I will read try again.

I would like to thank Netgalley, Bookouture and K.L. Slater for an ARC in exchange for and honest review.

This was HANDS down one of the best books I have ever read. It had me guessing the whole time!!! The writer definitely knows how to keep you on the very edge of your seat and then hit you in the face with "what??? She was the one??? " kudos!!!

Overall, this was a good thriller, but the middle was a bit boring and dragged. Once Part 2 hit (about 70 percent into the book), it got really interesting, and I couldn't put it down. I ended up liking some of the twists and thought it made for a good read!

Wow what a rollercoaster of a novel! I absolutely loved this and raced through it to see what happened next. As Toni 's demise unfolded and the bad guys stacked up, I couldn't wait to see if I'd been proved right! I can't wait to read this author's next novel! I hope it's as good!

Oh dear. I much preferred 'Safe With Me ', the first book I read by K L Slater. That was a book that swept me along in its current.

Blink is very different. The premise is great, the execution not so wonderful, and the promotional blurb tells lies.

The journey was okay. It was a reasonable read but I have issues, particularly with the ending, which I can't discuss without giving away vital spoilers. All in all, I was disappointed.

Thank you to Bookouture via Netgalley for providing a digital copy of Blink for review. All opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own.

This book was a page turner, I found myself starting it right before bed and then waking up in the middle of the night because I couldn't sleep only to dive right back into the story. When I finished the story this morning I was torn on my feelings with the book. I felt that there was so many more things that could have been added because I had questions.
Toni is now a single mom of a sweet little girl named Evie, when she moves to a new place it is hard on everyone. We see how Evie isn't wanting to go to her new school but could it be because it is new, or something more. Toni is trying to find a job that way she can start trying to take care of herself and Evie but it seems that she is dealing with a lot. We go back and forth between the present and what lead up to the abduction of Evie. We get to see Toni's point of view, Evie's and the mysteries person who is in the hospital. I thought I had it figured out half way in and I was far from wrong. Though some characters had me thinking something wasn't too right with them.
When Toni finds out who is behind it all it honestly is a big OMG totally didn't see that part coming. I really liked the whole mention of the stroke patient, that was really neat how the author went about with that.
Now the reason I didn't give this book a solid 5 rating like I wanted to is because I felt some things could have been elaborated on.
1. Did the school not ever look into Harriet's classes or after school programs?
2. There could have been some elaboration on the downfall of Toni and her mother. It seemed that when her daughter went missing she had one outburst then nothing else. What about her secret that she has What did her mother think of it all, since she seemed to have a huge issue with how Toni was parenting.
3. The way the ending came about with the scene in Harriet's home, for someone who has military background wouldn't they have heard someone come in? I am sure they would have been in-tune with their surroundings.
Other than that it was a good read, one that I did enjoy.

I really enjoyed this fast paced psychological thriller that had me guessing all the way through. Just when I thought I had it figured out another twist appeared.
It held my attention from the opening line 'You don't know this, but I watch you, I watch you a lot' and I found myself carrying my kindle around with me all day until I finished it.
If you are looking for a can't put it down thriller then look no further.

I had a hard time getting into this book especially in the beginning. I think there are too many characters and the plotline moves back and forth and it makes it hard to follow. Once you get halfway through the plotline does come together and it's not a bad read but it lacks some in the psychological suspense department.

This was a great book for me. I read roughly 100 - 150 books a year and so far this is right up there high on that list. Recommend for anyone. Also plan to get hooked on this author

Thank you for the opportunity to preview BLINK. At first I found this book difficult to get into, but I gave it a chance, and I am glad I did. This book is wriiten in several voices - Toni, Mother and Widow of a small child - Evie, Toni's 5 year old daughter - The Teacher, a older woman who takes a strange interest in Evie - "The Patient", a woman who is stuck in bed and cannot communicate but is very much alive,-The Nurse, a woman at the hospital who recognizes the woman in the bed. Who is the woman in the bed who very much wants to tell someone her story but can only Blink.

Toni is recently widowed as her husband has been killed in Afganistan. She has a little "pill" problem and things are starting to get out of control. Toni loves her daughter but is struggling to make a life for the two of them, She can't seem to get things right. She is losing things, sleeping while Evie is up, and unable to move on in her life. Her mother reminds her of her shortcomings, and Toni starts to think she is going crazy.

The story line goes back and forth with each character over a 3 year timeline. Evie has been taken and no one knows what has happened to her - is she alive or not. The voices of the characters tell their story and the hairs on the back of your neck will standup - Who took Evie? There is a long list of suspects to choose from.
Fast paced with a surprise ending. Liked this book alot and look forward to Slater's next thriller.

This is one of those books that as soon as you begin reading you know that you will not be able to put it down until the very end. Lots of suspense and twists to keep you engaged. Well worth the read.

This book blew me away, I literally could not put it down especially towards the end. Toni is a single parent to Evie after her husband dies in Afghanistan. She struggles to keep going, taking sedatives to help her through the day. So she is not sure what is real and what she has dreamt. Then her daughter goes missing. So the story flashes backwards and forwards and is told from a few different viewpoints. The characters are so good and you keep thinking to yourself yep that's her, she is the one who did it. Then it moves on to someone else. The end was not what I was expecting. The locked in syndrome that was described was very informative and sounds awful. This is the second book I have read by the author and I really want to read her next one! My new favourite!

Thank you to Bookouture via Netgalley for providing me with a copy of this physiological thriller.

Oh my god, I was not expecting that conclusion - wow.

I was hooked from "You don’t know this, but I watch you."

This story is a freakishly twisted tail of what leads up to Evies disappearance.

I don't want to say anymore about the plot as I don't want to spoil it for other readers. But I will say well done to K L Slater for giving us such a fantastic physiological thriller that has certainly kept me gripped right to the end.

I am looking forward to reading other books written by yourself.

I enjoyed this book but didn't like how it just ended with Evie. I would have liked more of a reunion between mother and daughter! But overall I enjoyed the story!
Thank you for allowing me to read your book!

Blink had just about everything that I could wish for in a
psychological suspense thriller. This has been on my shelf for awhile now and I can't believe that I waited so long to read it. It has brilliantly gripping suspense. I couldn't put it down. It was like a roller coaster ride. Some of those twists just made my jaw drop.

When Toni's life has fallen apart she tries to rebuild it. She has lost her husband and tries so hard to get over it. Nothing seems to go right for her. Her daughter disappears without a trace.

This book kept me guessing all the way through about who was in the coma and who had taken Evie and who could you trust.

Its one of those stories that switches between the present and three years earlier. I usually don't care for books that does this but this one was fantastic.

I thought the characterization was done very well. I could just vision every character. I felt so sorry for Toni in the beginning but then changed how I felt because she became very negligent. There were so many times I felt like slapping Harriet. I found Harriet Watson the domineering teaching assistant who tries to pass herself off as Evie's teacher particularly sinister. Byrony was greedy and just cared about herself and didn't care whose shoes she stepped on. I thought most of the characters were pretty evil, and the next door neighbor was just too creepy.
I really adored Evie.

The ending was a burst of surprise. The twists just kept on coming. This was an awesome psychological thriller. I am looking forward to reading Safe With Me by this author..

I want to thank NetGalley, the publisher and the author for the copy of this book in exchange for a honest review.

This is a brilliant, outstanding thriller. The writing and storyline are superb. It's definitely worth reading. I am not going to give away the plot, it's straightforward enough. However there is a huge twist. I read this book in one day.
