I've only read the feature novella 'Paris for One' so far and have to say I really enjoyed the story.

Nell is all booked for a long weekend in Paris with her boyfriend, when he doesn't turn up to catch the Eurostar she believes he will meet her in Paris. Nell is a girl that likes to balance things in her mind, this stops her doing lots in life. This weekend in Paris turns into a fun one and with the interest of a Frenchman proves one that Nell won't forget. I read this story in one sitting and loved watching Nell discover fun and adventure.

I'll admit, I sniffed a little at this when I found that nothing here was brand new, but it would take Ms Moyes' family or agent to have read and heard everything in these pages. Two stories are long enough to have been stand-alone e-books, but the rest are fresh from magazines where you need a strong narrative zip, or from radio broadcast, a medium that needs a chatty approach and instant connection with the story and its characters. Both zip and connection are here in practically every story, so even if this is a little light and frothy, it's perfectly acceptable for my annual dose of chicklit. Warm-hearted, and generally getting the balance right (only sometimes does the female character turn out to be a bit too whingey and unlikeable), it's definitely sprightly and just what the reader of this material should be seeking. If anything, though, the title story is the weakest – overlong, too obvious, and poorly edited – does the girl have a book to read in the hotel or not?!

While this was a pleasant read, I was disappointed. I expected more substance from this author but found that the short stories were of a similar calibre to those found in Summer Special women's magazines; no twists in the tales! They were straightforward easy to read tales rather than short stories to make you think or to challenge the reader.

Unfortunately, I don't think this one was for me. But, if you're a fan of cute, fleeting little short stories then you might very well LOVE this. But, for me, the stories weren't fleshed out enough - which is hard to do in such a short amount of pages - and all of the characters and stories mashed together. But, if you're looking for something easy and to pass time - this could just be for you!

I loved this wonderful collection of short stories by Jojo Moyes. Great for the times when you want something quick and easy to read, but still full of the heart and beautiful characterisation we've come to expect from this amazing author. There's something for everyone here and I highly recommend it to anyone who has loved Jojo's previous work. An easy 5 stars.

as good as ever ,Jo Jo never fails to please and amuse. Good bed-time reading, usually with her books I'm reading into the early hours ,with short stories I managed to put the book down earlier!

I'm a huge JoJo Moyes fan so was excited to get my hands on this book. I'm not usually one for short stories, infact this is probably only the 2nd collection of short stories I've ever read, but it was great to dip in and out of. My favourite was definitely Paris for One, although Honeymoon in Paris was a very close second. As usual JoJo Moyes manages to transport you seemlessly into another time and place and you find yourself warming to the characters she creates.

A wonderful collection of short stories that made me feel good and put a smile on my face. Jojo Moyes really knows how to add the sparkle to real characters in normal situations without being cringey. This is a collection that I'll definitely be returning to again and again in the future.
Thanks so much to NetGalley and Penguin UK-Michael Joseph for my advanced digital copy.

Jojo Moyes never disappoints and in this book she has done it yet again.
Not a great fan of short stories I thought I would be bored but I was riveted and couldn't put it down.

Paris for One is a collection of novella/short stories written by JoJo Moyes. As usual, JoJo's characterisation is good, and running through the book is a theme of lessons learned, relationships & re-evaluation. Gentle, yet clever and often thought provoking.

Although not in the same league as the full length novels as you don't really form the same level of relationships with the characters, fans of JoJo's books will undoubtedly enjoy this collection, although some stories definitely stand head and shoulders above others. I wasn't particularly taken with 'Holdups', or 'Thirteen days with John C', but I loved 'Margot' and 'The Christmas List' and thought that 'Between the Tweets' was very clever. From other reviews I've read, people differ greatly in their choice of favourite, so it's very much down to the reader preference. It's worth reading them all just to see which one stands out for you.

For me it was 'Honeymoon in Paris'. It's a good few years since I've read 'The Girl You Left Behind' and I absolutely loved it, so It was lovely to catch up with Eduardo and Sophie spend a few days in their new marriage and the timeslip theme with a modern couple is really clever.
Nell, the protagonist in the titular novella reminded me a lot of Louisa from 'Be Before You' so if you liked that, you'll probably like her too.

This is a nice collection of stories from a great author. Perfect for dipping into on a hot beach somewhere, or on a train on a rainy day.

The story set in Paris evoked all the senses. You really feel you go on a journey with the character. It is brilliant the character changes her own life to get her happy ever after. Loved that the character found her confidence. Real feel good stories for women. Some stories made me laugh, others made me think and there were even those with a good twist to them. One of my favourites was the Twitter story and the poor woman who got hoisted by her own petard. A great collection, superbly written with a fantastic atmosphere and characters I could laugh and cry with.

Some interesting short stories. Loved that it was from different point of views, and of course, Paris is included in at least 2 of the stories. Highly recommend it for those that would like a quick read!

In fairness to the author this is the first time for a long time that I have read short stories. JoJo Moyes is a good author but the short stories did not make me sing for joy. The short stories are well written and in a very short time the author has managed to bring together a story, often with a twist or unexpected ending. Each story was well developed and could not be faulted but I just wonder how much more these could have appealed had they been just a tad on the longer side. The people described are people that often the reader can relate to which shows a very good technique to get this across to the reader. If you like short stories then this book is certainly for you.

Paris for One is the opening story in this collection of short stories. It was originally released in 2015 but is here with other short reads.
I thoroughly enjoyed Paris for One. It grabbed me from page one and I really liked, and related to Nell and her predicaments. It was funny and exciting, I was rooting for Nell all the way.
Nell is scared of her own shadow but decides to book a short break in Paris with her boyfriend, whose life has been full of adventure. Unfortunately he bails at the very last minute and Nell finds herself alone in Paris. What to do now? She decides to prove everyone who thinks she is boring wrong.
I loved the way this story took me on the adventure with Nell, how she found a version of herself she had never known existed and how her character grew along with the story.
However, I didn’t really enjoy the other stories in the collection; they were okay and readable but they didn’t grab me like Paris For One did, which was a shame. Overall it’s probably worth getting for the first story and the others you might just love.

Whilst I appreciate that when you get an ARC it may not be edited, i still find it difficult to read books with so many errors - mainly the fact that there were lots of missing letters (mainly f - so traffic became tra ic). Of the stories I enjoyed the two novellas and one of the short stories. The rest were ok and one I couldn't even remember any of it.

Paris for One **** - Nell is excited for her romantic weekend away; however just as she's getting ready to board the Eurostar, she gets a text from her boyfriend cancelling. Nell who never does anything risky decides to throw caution to the wind and goes to Paris anyway. In doing so she finds herself along the way. I really liked this, however I didn't like what her friends did when they found out what the boyfriend had done. If one of my friends had been stood up in such away, I would be the one on the next flight to Paris to find her!

Between the tweets **** - A PR stunt that goes horribly wrong for one married couple. I really liked this one, I didn't expect the story to go the way it did.
Love in the afternoon *** - A husband arranges a romantic getaway for his wife, however she just can't get in the right mood as the trip was unexpected. This one felt quite realistic as some surprises just throw you off making it difficult to enjoy.
A bird in the hand * - I genuinely could not remember what this story was about.
Crocodile Shoes *** - at the gym and someone takes our bag in error but leaves you theirs, in it you find a pair of shoes you'd never normally wear; however you have no choice as yours are in your bag. It turns out these shoes transform your life by getting your career and marriage back on track. A nice quirky short story.
Holdups *** - a robbery turns to romance. This was a very strange story and just unexpected.
Honeymoon in Paris **** - this story is about tow different couples and their relationship. I really enjoyed this one and how the stories were linked.
Last years coat *** - a woman in need of a new coat but no money to buy one. This story is again realistic as people are struggling to make ends meet and have to make that difficult decision on what's more important. Overall a good story with a nice ending.
Thirteen days with John C *** - another unhappy housewife who finds a phone and John C who's having an affair with the owner of phone. Miranda decided to brighten up her own life by replying to John. In the end she realises where she belongs. This was an ok story but quite amusing.
Margot *** - this one made me chuckle, I think we all need a Margot in our lives.
The Christmas list *** - a miserable housewife, chasing down presents from her husbands shopping list. She jumps in a taxi and the ride changes her life forever. This was another enjoyable read.

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
