This is a multiple character view point with a fresh perspective - that of a human and a dog. It is a mid grade novel that is suitable for all ages. As a runner, I enjoyed the narrative during the endurance race, and it is clear how remarkable Gobi is. This story would make a lovely movie.
OMG this story is awesome, brilliant and so heart wrenching it will have you in tears of both joy and sadness.
This story is about Dion who runs in an endurance race through the Gobi desert. Here a little dog he named Gobi joined him on the run voluntarily and stayed with him throughout the race. He decides he is going to bring Gobi from China to live with him in Scotland.
So we begin the journey of bring Gobi home. However, it doesn't quite go as smoothly as they thought. The book takes you on the journey of Dion and Gobi and the relationship they established.
I can't recommend this enough. If you love dogs and need an uplifting story with twists and turns but a happy ending then give this a go. Enjoy!

A delightful read about the incredible relationship between a long distance runner and a delightful little stray dog.who was absolutely determined to win his heart. Dion was not impressed when the little dog ran beside him during a race in the Gobi Desert, he saw her as a nuisance and tried to ignore her. But Gobi (named by Dion after the desert they ran in) had other ideas. The true story follows the journey to get Gobi back to the UK but it was not without problems. An inspiring and compelling read, I wanted to hug Gobi so badly
