The ASD and Me Picture Book is an excellent resource. It contains clear, age-appropriate language and simple illustrations explain strengths and challenges to individuals who have autism. Worksheets and activities help children pick what they are good at and what they would like to work on. Although this book is created with children who have autism in mind, it would work very well with individuals of all ages (insert story about my job). This is a book every parent of a child with autism, therapist, social worker, special education teacher, and autism support provider needs on their bookshelf.

PLEASE NOTE: I received a free ARC of this book to review. I was not compensated in any way for my review.

I am the parent of an autistic tween, I have searched for books to help explain his differences and help him realize his strengths. This book is exactly what I have been looking for. It is explained very simply without talking down to you, there are worksheets and visual cues. I cannot wait to purchase this in a physical copy to use it with my son.

This is a really useful book with great ideas for families, teachers, therapists and individuals with ASD. I love the way the wide range of topics are introduced and explained, as well as activities and games which provide the opportunity for addressing the concepts and skills in a practical and interactive manner. Some of the pictures may be a little abstract for some children, but with support this can be overcome. As a Speech Pathologist, I will certainly be using this resource with some of my older, more able students with a diagnosis of ASD. In fact, I think that this resource can be used with all students, not only those who are on the Autism Spectrum. Thanks to Jessica Kingsley Publishers and Netgalley for the ARC.

I'd hoped this book would be something that kids with ASD might like, but... while the information is solid, it's boring. You have to snag kids attention, especially kids with ASD.

The ASD And Me Picture Book is a wonderful tool for higher functioning kids and adults on the spectrum. It helps people understand more about themselves, why they have the quirks and challenges they do, and how to overcome or embrace them.
I plan to purchase this book for my own 8 year old daughter, who hasn't been officially diagnosed with ASD, but has many traits.
I highly recommend this book to parents, teachers and caregivers.

This is a great resource for children with ASD and their families. My son was recently diagnosed with ASD, and I believe this book would be very helpful for him. I look forward to getting a hard copy for him when it is released.

This is the first time I have read a book for children on the Autism spectrum and I was amazed, excited, and thankful that authors are broadening the scope of the books they write. All people should have access to information and reading and the author has use simple icons to consolidate the information so it is user friendly to those on the spectrum.

Overall I found the book to be positive and encouraging the reader to assess their unique qualities. I really like that the book doesn't point out people's differences but highlights that everyone is good at different things. On the other hand it highlights that sometimes people find some tasks hard and call these challenges rather than pointing out their differences. I also thought a strength of the book was the worksheets, getting the reader scale their strengths then working through these step by step.

The book is bright in colour, and set out simply, easy to follow. The addition of other suggested reading is helpful for those who are not sure what to read next and are user friendly.

I am so pleased I got to read this book and get an insight into everybody having strengths and challenges.

This book would be a great resource to use with autistic children. It has a very visual format with lots of helpful explanation. It would be a great introduction to some age appropriate vocabulary like "strengths vs. challenges" and "insight" and had some great strategies on developing your challenges. I also really loved the games and reproducible worksheets at the back of the book. It would be great to use 1-on-1 at home or in a small group setting for elementary special educators.

I like this book, and I don't like this book. This book was written to be used with children on the spectrum to learn their strengths and weaknesses. And I think it can be great for that. I don’t fully understand how this lays out as I am not, nor do I work with anyone on the spectrum. As an outside observer I think this could be a very good book. Things I don’t like all have to do with layout. I don't like all the reference that say “go to the worksheet on this page.” I think the work sheets should be next to the page they are intended to go with. Plus there is more explanations in back such as what do the graphics mean, how do the walk lines work, etc. I think these should flow with the book instead of being an appendix. But as I said, this subject is not my field of expertise. I would carry the book in my library if that helps.

I first heard about this book on Facebook in an Autism Group I am a part of, and I thought it would be worth checking out. I am very glad I did!

This is a fairly simple approach to Autism Spectrum Disorder. It has the reader focus on their strengths and weaknesses, which are called challenges in the book. It has the reader identify both, rate how good they are at each one, and gives tips on facing a challenge and what to do when you get frustrated with the challenge. I can see both my husband and my autistic son benefiting from this book! I would highly recommend it!
