The beginning of this book was good but I found the ending and the who done it to be rather preposterous. Cara is a teenager who finds the body of her dead boyfriend in his family's pool house. It looks to be suicide but was it really? I found the characters of Cara and her friend Ryan to be likeable. Cara had a few girlfriends who were horrible and unlikable. The idea of the who done it being a scarred psychologically dysfunctional young woman who is actually Cara's sister (whom she knew nothing 0f) and is running around killing off everyone she meets was too preposterous.

I only had one problem with this book so I’m going to get it out of the way so I can focus on all the gooey goodness. It’s written from the first person perspective which works for the vast majority of this story BUT there are 2 characters Katlyn Duncan uses this writing style on as she writes certain chapters from one character’s viewpoint then other chapters from the second character. The second character is the “big bad” who doesn’t get revealed until the end so there were a few times I got confused as to which character was speaking then wondered if Duncan was trying to set up for some kind of split personality thing. Once I knew who the second character was I went back and reread some of those chapters in their viewpoint and it made much more sense.
I really loved this book. I was completely glued from page one and didn’t want to put it down except when I had to deal with “real life” distracting me. There were so many twists, turns and red herrings I really didn’t figure out the big bad and all my guesses proved wrong.
Duncan is a brilliant writer whose style just flows and grabs your attention. There was so much mystery surrounding her characters I was invested in finding out the truth. The ending, although it wrapped up with a perfect conclusion, still left just enough room that if Duncan wanted she could create a sequel.

If you want a book that will leave you guessing until almost the very end, this is the story for you. Cara’s boyfriend is dead and all the evidence points to her as his killer. But that’s ridiculous, Cara would never harm anyone, let alone her boyfriend. with everyone accusing her of murder, Cara’s carefully constructed life begins to come apart at the seams. Things are so confusing, that she begins to wonder if she really is guilty. So is Cara a killer, or is she being gaslighted by someone who wants her to think she is? A mind-bending thriller

Wow!!
Speechless.
Gripping. Thrilling. On the edge of your seat exciting.
I absolutely loved it.
An extraordinary who-dunnit with lots of unexpected twists and turns that take you on an compelling roller coaster of a ride.
Katlyn Duncan is a new to me author and going into this novel I wasn't quite sure what to expect from her but I was thrilled to discover how brilliant her style of writing is. Her words flowed smoothly and reads at a steady pace with enough mystery and suspense to keep you transfixed and finding out the juicy details. It makes for very compulsive reading, I couldn't put it down.
Beware though As You Lay Sleeping leaves you with an ending that hints are more and I for one hope we get just that.
Secrets are ready to be spilled, are you ready?
