Absolutely brilliant and chilling.
Chris Mooney never fails to deliver with an excellent tale, intricately woven within pages full of thrills and breathtaking detail.
For fans of the crime thriller genre this is an author and title more than deserving of a 5 Star rating.
Highly recommended.

An excellent turn-about trap thriller. I would recommend Chris Mooney's books to fans of PJ Tracy and Jeffrey Deaver.

Every pretty thing by Chris Mooney is a great thriller, my biggest problem was I wished I had started from three beginning of the series. I had no trouble getting into the book and the characters are all well rounded. I liked Darby as a character specially.
A book that was full of twists and turns, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Looking forward to getting the first few on the series. Thanks to NetGalley and Penguin Books.

Darby hunts serial killers, She's the only survivor of a man who has been murdering for years. Now FBI SA Jackson Cooper thinks he's found him in Montana and asks her to assist,. When she gets there, though, Cooper is missing, That's ad news in more ways than one but Darby pulls it together and digs in. It's a twisty fast paced read which will keep you guessing. This is fine as a standalone, although readers of the series will probably see more nuance to the characters than I did.

Darby McCormack is back and she means business. When her friend Cooper goes missing she involves herself in his case and will do anything in her power to get him back. This involves working the case where He disappeared because of his investigations into another case. Things just aren’t what they seem.

I have read some of Chris’s books before and Darby is an amazing character and I look forward to the next one. Thank you to netgalley and the publishers for this arc in exchange for my honest review.

This is the seventh book in the Darby McCormick Series but unfortunately I've not had chance to read the others in the series! They are now on my to be read list which is growing faster than i can read!
I really wish i had read the others first to get the best out of this book as i went in blind, not knowing Darby at all.
But saying that it still made a fantastic serial killer stand alone book so don't be put off if you haven't read the others.
I will now be adding Chris Mooney to my "Authors to look out for" list!!
Looking forward to reading more of his work

I LOVED this! I’ve recentky had a baby and lost my interest for reading. I saw this from Chris Mooney and remembered how much I loved Darby and the rest of the series and Netgalley kindly gave me a advanced copy. I finished quickly and now I’m sad that it’s over, it was brilliantly written, exciting, shocking and full of emotion too! And now I NEED to know what happens next!

Sympathische Charaktere mit Ecken und Kanten. Neben der fortlaufenden Rahmenhandlung entwickelt sich eine schlüssige und spannende Geschichte.

Nothing made sense, not the story, not the crimes, not the method, not the criminal or anything else - and certainly not the climax or the ending (there was no need for the black-attired British-accented fiancee' in the end!!!!! I mean, seriously! Give the poor people a break!), but it's very very readable, hard-to-put-down, something new happening at every page (which adds to the whole 'doesn't make sense part' but I didn't mind it). It's good.

Every Pretty Thing is the first book I have read by Chris Mooney but will be reading the other books in the series from the start due to how much I enjoyed this one. This is the seventh book in the Darby McCormick series so I am looking forward to reading the first six. I feel this is going to be another great series that I eagerly await. I will add that this book can definitely read as a standalone without being confusing to the reader but as always it's probably best when you read a series from the beginning. It is not essential however.

The story is fast-paced and enthralling. It pulls you in and you just keep reading page after page. I was hooked from the beginning and will have you on the edge of your seat, the action starts right away. A gripping psychological thriller that is exciting and engaging and a title that anyone interested in the genre will undoubtedly enjoy.

There are lots of twists and turns throughout the book and intriguing characters and although some of the storylines can sometimes be a little unbelievable and far fetched but it doesn't take away from the plot in my mind, it is still a fantastic read. Darby is a feisty, gritty and determined character which adds a lot to the book. She does appear to have very bad luck though as murder seems to follow her around!

A highly recommended read for thriller lovers. It has received praise from some well known well loved crime writers such as Lee Child, Michael Connolly, Harlan Coben, Karin Slaughter and Tess Gerritsen. Lee Child touts him as ' One of the best thriller writers working today'. High praise indeed!

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an impartial review. I would like to thank Penguin UK - Michael Joseph/Chris Mooney and NetGalley for providing my copy.

Every Pretty Thing by Chris Mooney a surprising and stirring four-star read. This is the seventh book in the Darby McCormick series, but you don’t have to have read them all before I haven’t and I enjoyed this one, I am planning on buying it for my mum as she loves this type of thing and put me onto this author. Darby McCormick has the worst luck ever, she always comes across the worst thing possible, the only thing is its part of her job as she kinda an expert on Serial Killers. This story is gripping and will keep you hooked, you will have your heart racing along with Darby’s when she gets herself in some situations, that I can’t spoiler you with. If you are looking for a gripping psychological drama then this is the story for you.

Chris Mooney has done it again, this being the 7th in the Darby McCormick series and it just keep getting better.
Darby is called in by FBI Agent Jackson Cooper, he needs help with another case. The action starts pretty much straight away, Coop goes missing, Darby kicks some ass and goes on the hunt for Agent Cooper.
Darby is a brilliant strong fiery female lead, she has the worst luck ever as murder and crime seem to follow her around.
While all the Darby McCormick series are a little far fetched at times, they still make for a brilliant read. This book can be read as a standalone however I feel you benefit more from knowing the relationship between Darby and Cooper. As long as you get they are on off more times than a light switch them you will be just fine starting with this book.

Chris Mooney continues to enthrall readers with this series Darby McCormack is a fantastic character who keeps you on the edge of your seat.
When her friend Jackson Cooper goes missing Darby involves herself with the FBI to try and track him down. The FBI try to keep her off the track as to why Cooper was in Montana to begin with and what their hidden agenda really involves.
With lots of twists and turns and interesting characters you will want to keep reading. One final twist which I didn't see coming had me engrossed to the last page.

This is the first book that I have read by Chris Mooney, what an awesome find. I read a lot and to still find a book that can surprise me is a great gift. The determination and grit that Darby shows throughout this book in awe inspiring. She believes that justice above everything is what will help her stop evil, but will she meet her match this time. This book is full of suspense and it leaves you needing to read more, will this show evil wins? The dynamic characters written in this book make this a must read. Thank you NetGalley and Chris Mooney for allowing me to read this book and write a honest review.

I really enjoyed reading this book. It is an extremely fast paced thriller that shocked me at multiple times, especially at Noel's death as I really liked him as a character. It genuinely surprised me as I thought it was just going to be your basic detective catches murderer novel, but Mooney provides the narrative with an extremely creepy and sinister twist that left me incapable of putting the book down until I finished. I enjoyed Darby's character, with her inner strength and sassy attitude making her an interesting character to read about. One thing I would have liked is more of an explanation as to how and why this community of what I took to be religious radicals came to coincide with "The Red Ryder", and I think more of a back story with that would've helped the book. However, the ending is very good and the little twist at the end definitely shocked me and left me feeling gutted for Darby. A must read for any thriller readers out there.

Thank you to Netgalley, the publishers and Chris Mooney for the ARC of this book.

I am an avid Darby McCormick fan and, as ever, could not put this down.

Her long-time friend Jackson Cooper has gone missing whilst out on assignment for the FBI and it's up to Darby to find him. Will she be in time? Will they finally get it on?!

This book has lots of twists and turns and creepy villains that will keep you up long into the night.

Chris can't write fast enough for. Write faster please!!
