Helpful in part for someone who needs to understand a little more about Islamic finance. There are parts that don't make a lot of sense without further research (mainly terms used) but I'd expect that and I would use this more as a general reference book should I need to work with a client who required me to have a greater understanding of Islamic Finance.

I picked this book for review because I was keen on learning more about the different aspects of financial services especially their products. The book did provide the rationale and the philosophy behind Islamic Finance early on in the book which I appreciated. However, I found the book to be more of a class text (complete with the practice questions) which was not expected. The authors focused more on the various contracts in Islamic Finance and their multiple applications in Shariah compliant service provision. They delve into detail in about how to design services channels based on current debates. This book would a good fit for someone with experience in conventional banking and would like some insight on how Islamic financial services are run. or just part of an Islamic Finance 101 class.
