I've been enjoying these British police procedurals that take place in Yorkshire in the 1960's. This is another one that doesn't have a murder as the main crime, someone stole the village Maypole. I'm liking how the author changes the mystery focus since it seems like most of the mysteries I have read lately are all based on murders. I have basically binge read 4 books in the series so far and will definitely be reading the rest of these. If you have Kindle Unlimited many of these are free.

Another great read from Nicholas Rhea, set in rural Yorkshire in the sixties about the village life of the local bobby. I would definitely recommend this book to any one who likes reading about sixties village life in rural Yorkshire. I have reviewed this book on Amazon.co.uk, Amazon.com and Good reads

PC Nick Rhea, the constable of the books, recounting the story of the life of a North Yorkshire. This is one in a series of books that inspired the TV series, Heartbeat. A pleasant, light-hearted read.

A gentle memoir of police work in small village England - this one rubbed me the wrong way a bit, as Mr. Rhea really digs into some stereotypical opinions and ideas about shrill women and the burdens of motherhood. That aside, it's a pleasure to return to Mr. Rhea's prose and his matter-of-fact approach to the vagaries of human nature and crime.
