I wasn't sure what to expect out of this book. What I found was quite interesting, especially given the present times in the world. The essays discuss the kind of moral/ethics that are needed to provide a good kind of stability in an uncertain and changing world. As can be expected from the source of the essays, the basis is found in Christian principles. But several of the essays also show how many of the principles can also be found in other religions and philosophies.
While the essays are founded in the British context, and in the Benedictine tradition, the messages they convey are applicable around the world. While the focus is on public servants, both elected officials and career civil servants, the principles and philosophies are universal to all walks of life.
