This story was not for me. Apologies.
I thought I would greatly enjoy it, but the world, and the character didn't hold my attention. It probably didn't help that it's part of a series I haven't read before.

I really enjoy reading this book! There are no characters I don't like, which is always a plus. Sure, there are moments where I wasn't comfortable with some characters but at the end, everything was okay. The world-building is amazing!! I always love fantasy books with great world-building and this is definitely one of them.

Probably the fact that I hadn't read the previous books helps in the fact that I never managed to get into this one. Action was slow, the characters didn't catch my eye and I didn't got invested into the book.

I'm really sad to say that this book did not work for me. I've loved most of the other books in the trilogy, unfortunately I didn't enjoy this one as much. The pacing was all over the place, while the plot was slow and to be honest kind of dull at times. I was also not a fan of the shifting perspectives - I find it can be quite jarring. It might have been the wrong time to read it though as I did feel I was in a bit of a reading slump so that may have affected my overall enjoyment.

Another episode in the Green Rider series and well up to standard. I hope, however, that Ms Britain has an end in sight and will not just string the series out indefinately.

ARC provided by Netgalley in exchange for an honest review

I'll admit that while I did enjoy Mirror Sight I also didb't know what to make of it. It did feel as if we were jerked out of the main series arc. (and then Cade! *sob*) But Karighan is back and as wounded and broken down from her experiences as she us, the Green Rider leaps at the chance of taking another job. I won't say I like Karighan being in pain but I do like the fact that Britton's characters actually have to recover from trauma rather than the nasty occurences getting swept under a rug as we progress through the books. It's a difficult balancing act between realistic character development and boring your reader by harping on too long and the author does it well. Firebrand, for those who didn't warm to mirror sight, is the book you were waiting for. Grandmother is on the move again and there are new perils, new creatures snd new battles to fight, as well as tantalusing hints for book 7. More please.
