Riders of the Pony Express by Gordon Landsborough was first published by Hamilton and Company Ltd. in 1952. This edition was published in 2017 by Endeavour Press – Pioneer Press. I received a free electronic copy of this historical novel on March 2, 2017 from Netgalley, the author, and Pioneer Press in exchange for an honest review. Thank you all, for sharing your hard work with me.
This novel begins in May of 1860, and ends with the battle for Virginia City later that same year, and covers both details of the Pony Express and the attempt made by the Pony Express parent company, Russell, Majors and Waddell to compete for the freight market in California. The details are well covered as is the environment of the north-western country and the recently formed towns the drovers and Express riders had to traverse. A good, fast read with enough true history to make it truly interesting.

A bit dated but still plenty of action between the cattle stampedes,Indian raids and classic Western action. Fabulous scenery description, I felt as though I was out on the frontier with all the action! Plenty of action to keep your interest in reading.
