Likeable characters, nice simple plot, not very accurate on veterinary facts, light entertainment but in spite of the cliffhanger not really riveting enough to make me buy another instalment.

Thank you to Ebury publishing for my copy of this book via Netgalley. This is the third book in the series which carries on straight where the 2nd book left off. For only 80 pages there is a lot that happens in this little book.

Sam is settling in to life in Hope Green. She has a job at the vets not just as a receptionist but a chance to learn how to be an actual vet which is of course her dream job. We also learn a little more about Joe and why he acts like he does.

With visits from friends and family there is a lot happening in this book but it keeps true to itself with its theme of animals and their ability to help us humans to not only heal but to live again when life gets tough. Sheila packs a punch wit this book that is short and sweet read that will leave you craving more.

The story ends on a massive cliffhanger so make sure you have part 4 ready.

I read this serialised book all in one go in the end and I really enjoyed this light hearted read. Is great for fans of Cathy Woodman and Cathy Bramley. I am looking forward to further instalments set in Hope Green in the future in order to see the developments of some of the characters in this series.

A really 'feel good' storyline. It was an easy going read and seemed to help slow my pace to the rhythm of country-life. I found I had finished Part 3 before I was ready to let go!. I find I am waiting impatiently for Part 4.

I really enjoyed part three! I have no idea how it all ends as I have missed part four, but I cannot wait to read the whole book as one, from start to finish. I have gotten such a homely, cosy feel from the storyline already. Even though there are situations within the book that don't require full on gasps or shock, the powerful characters and complex relationships gives that intense feeling without being too heavy. I am in love with this book at part three, I think I am going to be head over heels once I re-read it and review it as one! Thanks so much!

I've just read another great part in Sheila Norton's contemporary story about Sam, the vets receptionist, who wants to become a vet herself.

The Vets At Hope Green is available as a full novel in paperback on 1st June 2017, according to Goodreads.

Spoilers below (especially if you haven't read parts 1 and 2)...

In Part 3, we see Sam realising just what she needs to make her baby's life as good as it can be. At the start of Part 3, Sam is at the hospital waiting for her scan to make sure her baby is alright. David, her dog walking friend is with her. We see her meet up with an old friend from London, who may or may not be keeping things from her, form a more steady relationship with her boss, Joe, who opens up a little more about his past. Sam meets Ruby, Joe's daughter who she befriends immediately, and there's a dramatic ending with a cliffhanger...I can't wait to read the final part. That review will be coming really soon.

5 Stars! I really enjoyed this part of Sam's story. I loved the banter between Sam and Joe the most as I really ship them. I hope I'm not let down in the final part...

Part three of this series is just as good as the first two!

Sam is now living in Hope Green with her Nana and her pregnancy is coming along. This chapter focuses more on Sam's relationships with some of the villagers David, Izzy and Joe her boss in particular. Sheila's writing is superb and you feel like you are on the journey with Sam. Wonderful cosy story. Can't wait for the next chapter!

yes yes yes yes yes! I say YES to this book, to the series of "the Vets at Hope Green". "Too Close to Home" is the third part of the series and as the first and the second book, I loved the third book. The more you go into the series, the better it become. I really like the first book, I loved the second book and I absolutely ADORE the third book. Also what I like about this series is that each book is around 100 pages, so it really fast to read each one of them. It's nice to be able to read a quick (but lovely) read in between two bigger books. I have the 4th book in the series in by TBR, I can't wait to read it! I recommend this series to any woman!!!!!

I'm still enjoying following Sam's story and the pace of the plot means that my interest is held well.

I did feel there were a couple of cringey moments (pub lunch anyone?) but I suppose these are necessary for further developments ahead.

The characters are still mostly great, although Claire's change seems a bit surprising and a little hard to believe. The building relationship between Sam and Ruby is a good one and will lead to further revelations about Sam's past I'm sure.

Once again there was a cliffhanger ending so I'm now left waiting a few days until the final instalment is published and my pre-order gets delivered to my Kindle. I almost don't want to start another book in case I don't finish it in time to start Part 4 immediately!

Review: Firstly, Happy publication day Sheila. I have well and truly loved this series. I must admit the wait from part two to part three was agonising. It was the cliffhanger of all cliffhangers or so I thought at the time. I loved getting back acquainted with Sam and my worries and concerns for her were calmed at the beginning of this part. I still think there's loads more to Joe and I really loved experiencing his softer side. I don't want to say to much but the cancer addition to the storyline was a shocker and I know plenty of people who have beaten it once but were unlucky second time around. I'm not gunna lie this made me think as this is what happened with my Nan who I was extremely close to and happens days after friends have been effected from cancer. 
I love Ruby she's such a character and I hope there is lots more with her and Sam as I think this friendship could help Sam close a door on the past (which we haven't heard a great deal about).
Earlier in this post I said that the end of part two was the cliffhanger of all cliffhangers well this morning I was proved wrong. I knew that Sheila would have a big one as the next part is the final instalment in this beautiful story of hope, friendship, love, family and new beginnings. But I wasn't expecting what I read and I will be hanging on awaiting that final part with bated breath.

This book reminded me of serials I used to enjoy is weekly magazines many years ago/ Despite technology etc it still feels more like that era .

Sam is a city worker yearning for the country and seizes the opportunity to visit her granny as often as she can, Circumstances conspire for her to move in with the old lady. She too is like something from a long ago type of old lady, yet she doesn't know the first hing about caring for pets it would seem, however Sam is on hand to educate her. But isn't so savvy she can tell when someone falls in love with her etc.
There are lots of sensible messages like get your pet micro-chipped and beware of lethal pollen from lilies if a cat is likely to be in contact with it.
It's quite a pleasant story with a very annoying central character.

as good as 1 and 2, roll on number 4. the characters remain as well described and easy to identify with, a little more information coming out in each book.

Once again I loved returning to Hope Green and continuing with Sam's story. We start with the cliffhanger at the end of Part 2 which leaves Sam emotionally exhausted. However, her life doesn't quite return to some semblance of normality as a visit from her best friend back in London leaves her with an unpleasant feeling.

Sam's split personality boss starts to slowly open up with her about his home life after Sam inadvertently upsets his daughter, Ruby. Ruby loves horses and she has a little pony whom she's keen to show Sam all about inviting Sam to the stables. Visiting the stables brings up visions of a traumatic event in Sam's past and we are left wondering what truly happened.

With friendships blossoming and others strained life in the idyllic village is a welcome distraction for Sam. However, Sam's life is thrown off balance again with a new worry close to home.

This story by Sheila Norton has lovingly wrapped itself around my heart. It's a wonderfully warm cosy read about real life with it's high and low points. The glorious picturesque setting of Hope Green sounds like the perfect tonic for any of life's bumps in the road. I'm looking forward to the fourth and final part in this lovely series.

"Too Close to Home" is the third and last but one part in "The Vets at Green Hope" series. It starts exactly where we left, seeing Sam at hospital with a miscarriage scare. This part feels and seems much shorter to the previous two ones, the chapters are shorter and there are only six of them, as far as I can remember, so it is really a very, very quick read - but sometimes it's just what you need.

So this time there is a lot happening on the pages, guys, really. There was not a single minute without something happening, let it be with Sam, or Joe or even with Joe's sweet daughter, with friends visiting and falling out, with parents visiting and missed cats bringing surprises. It was packed to the brims but it was written in such a way that I've never felt overwhelmed or tired, and those events were realistic and relatable. We also learn much more about the very moody Joe in this part and I must admit that as much as I sympathize with him, this man is bringing me to my limits - he's exceptionally rude, and if all of us were so rude when having problems than our lives would be really miserable. Also Sam annoyed me a little this time with her occasionally childish behaviour and with everything bringing tears to her eyes - I know, hormones, but still, give us a break, girl. But again, the villagers and the village are brought to life, and there is more about the vet practice itself, and I enjoyed it very much.

This short story ends - of course - with a cliffhanger and I am already looking forward to the last part of the series. I am only afraid that it's going to end not in the way I'd like it to end re: the romance but let's wait and see.

Part Three continues where Part Two ended. We find out what happens between Sam and David, and whether Sam's unborn baby is doing well. However, things are still the same between Sam and Joe Bradley, until she unintentionally upsets Joe's daughter, Ruby. From this point on, Sam realises that there are more things happening in Joe Bradley's life than he allows anyone else to know.

Part Three did not disappoint. Sam was as strong willed as ever, and I like her relationship with Izzie. I personally think that Claire and Adam are better off out of Sam's life, despite the fact that Adam is the father of her child. I thought the scene in the pub was a bit odd and it ended rather abruptly, and I am looking forward to seeing why Joe stormed off like he did. Part Three ended on a huge cliffhanger, and I need to find out what happens in the final part of this series!

When I was looking in NetGalley for something to read I was immediately drawn to the delightful book covers of this series but it was the words that drew me. Yes this is one book split into four but then Sheila Norton is well known as a short story writer so I was happy to live with having to wait a while for each part because I knew I was going to get a good story written by an 'old hand at words'. I loved the interplay with grumpy Joe and his new receptionist and am eagerly waiting the next and final in the series. The serialisation of this book, which is due to be published as a full length paperback in June 2017, means this is the third of four parts and continues on from the emotive cliffhanger ending of the second part - then ends on another cliffhanger! Reviewing this without revealing events from the earlier parts is difficult, but I’ll endeavour to do so! Sam is now living with her Gran and working for Joe, the local vet. There are huge revelations about Joe and his family in this part and I admit to not liking some of Sam’s reactions to those revelations - she came over more selfish and less considerate in this respect IMHO.

The village and villagers are brought to life in the story - it feels like you could just pop out to visit them, like old friends. David, the dog-walker, is still being attentive and supportive whilst her so-called ‘friend’ from London, Claire, comes to visit (read it to find out why I defined her like that!). There’s plenty of angst and turmoil packed into this relatively short story and that ending has me waiting with eager anticipation for the final, fourth, part of this novel!
