First book I have read by this author and it won’t be my last. So beautifully written and descriptive.

A truly fascinating insight into life after loss from a child's perspective and one I enjoyed. Great descriptions of the Scottish locals and landscape and the wildness of the Island of Seal.

Doing a clean-up of NetGalley and any long-lingering non-feedback titles! Apologies for never getting to read this; don't even think I downloaded it in time. Thanks though!

Not my normal genre, but I did enjoy reading this book. I wanted to read it because of the location in which most of the drama is set, and that did not disappoint me - the write created a brilliant and atmospheric location which I loved. The romance angle was fine - there were enough action and twists to keep my attention, and the main character was likeable - always a necessity for any novel when you have to care what happened to them. All in all, a comfortable, light read which I enjoyed.

Unfortunately, I read this book back in 2017 but completely forgot to upload a review on here, so can't remember exactly what I was going to say about it!

Daniela Sacerdoti has written an amazing book that is easy to read and almost impossible to put down.
The story is a mix of ghostly creepiness and psychological action with a dose of love that transcends all. Great characters and scenery paint the story and drag you along to the ending that will leave you between shock and love.

Grab this book for a single sitting as you wont want to put it down.

A book that reflects on the fall out on a child from a fractured relationship.
Ava simply stops speaking for three days when her father abruptly leaves. When she starts speaking again her mother, Anna, is devastated when she asks for her other mother and seems to have memories that she shouldn’t have. Anna is determined to discover what is wrong with Ava and travels to Seal Island in the hope of an explanation. The book has a super natural side which requires a leap of faith to believe. It’s a sweet feel good story.

This book is not what I expected.

From the blurb I was waiting for a paranormal, psychological, creepy story about past lives! But this was more of a chick flick. I did like the mix of having the (almost) paranormal element, but the whole 'love at first sight' etc side of a book, just isn't for me. I like action and crime!

This was a good book, and the sort I can see plenty of women reading by the pool on holiday, but it weren't for me.

This is the first book I have read by this author, but I really liked her style of writing and the picture she painted.

Anna, the main character of the story has split from her partner and father of her daughter, Ava. Although Toby wasn't much of a father Ava takes the split to heart and is so distressed that she doesn't speak for three days. When she does speak she asks Anna "where's my mummy?" Anna puts this down to the distress that Ava feels over the loss of her father but when she is asked into Ava's school she discovers that Ava has painted many pictures of a place called Seal which she calls home even though she has never been there.
Determined to discover what is going on Anna travels to the remote Hebredian island of Seal.
The story is told from several people's perspectives and we find the connection between Ava and a family on the island.
This is a great read and even if, like me, you have to suspend belief with some aspects of the story it's a page - turner.

I love Daniela Sacerdoti and this book was fab with little references to Glen Avich which features in her other books. I would highly recommend it and can't wait to see what Daniela writes next.
