A beautiful 'grown up' magical fairy tale that is so artistically written you become immersed in the characters and story line as if you are part of it. A story that develops and will not only have you turning the pages as fast as possible but hoping it doesn't end either. Everything you could want in one stunning novel.

I have read a novel previously by this author and really enjoyed it so I had high hopes for this one. I wasn't disappointed. I found it to be an ideal holiday read. The story was captivating and beautiful. It really left me thinking about love and loss for quite a while after. I usually avoid books that feature paranormal elements but put my disbelief aside and was surprised to find that I really got caught up in the storyline.
The setting of Seal Island was described so vividly I could really picture in my mind what it was like there.
I would recommend to friends that they pop a copy of this book in their holiday suitcase.

This is a lovely book in a picturesque setting with well written characters. Anna was left by her partner and abandoned with her young daughter. This results in her daughter having an episode where she speaks of another family and place she wants to go to...the results are explored in the book. It is easy reading and enjoyable

Lovely front cover but sadly I really struggled to get into this one.

This book was almost chilling. Unusual storyline but I very much enjoyed the link between present and past and the feeling of deja vu it produced. Would definitely recommend this as a good read

Brilliant holiday read.

I took this book away for a long weekend. It would be a perfect holiday read.

It tells the story of Anna, who is married to Toby. When things start to get tough Toby decides abruptly that he is leaving. This sends Ava, their daughter, into silence.

When she eventually speaks again, its to ask for her other mother, the mother who gave birth to her.

A beautiful story about love and loss and what it is to love a child regardless.

Heartwarmingly beautiful.

A well written romance with a difference. A young girl dreaming of a past life draws her mother to a small Scottish island. Totally predictable from fairly early on but well formed interesting characters, enough to keep you reading. Not my normal read, but enjoyable none the less

A book good to read on a lazy Sunday afternoon . I loved seal island particularly because as a child I went there often therefore it brought back so many wonderful memories . A book well written but , although the touch of supernatural was interwoven well , I found this a touch off putting . All in all I enjoyed this book . 3.5 star read with my thanks to netgalley and publisher for my arc

When Anna’s marriage breaks down her young daughter Ava is so badly affected she stops talking. When she starts talking again she recalls times with her “other mother” and an island where she used to watch dolphins. In order to help her daughter, Anna finds the Hebridean island of Seal and takes her there but Ava’s “memories” multiply. On the island Anna encounters Sorren who blames himself for the death of his sister Isla when they were teenagers – a girl who resembled Ava. This book is beautifully written – very elemental with evocative descriptions of the sea and sky and kept me turning the pages.

Possibly because I have only recently read another book really similar to this one, I found this story a little predictable. I think had I not read the previous book I might have enjoyed it more, it may have kept me guessing a little. I thought that the writing was a bit Mills & Boon at times when writing of the blossoming relationship between Anna and Soreen but also had in my mind that Anna was older than I later found out in the book so maybe it was a true interpretation of her feelings and emotions. Is this book aimed at a younger audience I wonder? ( I'm in my 40s and found it all a bit emotionally immature) . Having said all that I read it to the end and wanted to pick it up each day to read a bit more. It's an easy read with a reasonable tale to be told. The ending would be better in a movie I think as the part where the little girl comes through in the child didn't translate well.

I wanted to love this book as the premise was intriguing when I first saw it. Unfortunately it very quickly changed into something else which was very predictable.

Saying that the story is written well, the characterisation is good, and there are a few twists on the way. It was a decent read, but one where I found myself skipping a lot as I wanted to get to the end.

This is simply my opinion though.

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for providing a copy.

Daniela Sacerdoti is an author I've been meaning to read for some time, so I was delighted when I discovered that Keep Me Safe is set on the mystical Scottish Hebridean island of Seal. From the outset I was intrigued by the hook of the novel. Why does Anna's daughter, Ava, wake up from a traumatic event asking for her other mother? The reader is kept guessing until Anna and Ava arrive on Seal, where the mystery slowly begins to unfurl. This is a moving novel exploring the impact of family break-up on both Anna and Ava, but Sacerdoti's inspired magical elements, stop the story from ever becoming grim. We find ourselves rooting for the pair as they find friendship,

Interesting and unusual story exploring the existence of spirits and the sight. Fantastic descriptions of the remote Scottish highlands.

This was a new genre to read for me. I usually read crime thriller but the blurb captured my interest and I'm glad I gave it a try. Romance and some supernatural, past life mixed together and that made for an interesting, light read. What do you do when your child starts talking about a past life with an other mother? Very sensitive and well written answers Daniela Sacerdoti this question.
I chose to read this book and all opinions in this review are my own and completely unbiased. Thank you, NetGalley and Headline!
