This is book 2 of Simon Gale series.
Even though I haven't read book 1 I'm really enjoying this book. I love Simon's character. I also love Flake and Alan. I was surprised with who the killer was. I had no idea and I was wrong about who I thought it was. There was a few typos but I did enjoy it. 5*. Thanks netgalley and endeavour press.

Written in 1956,it has all the elements of a classic British mystery. A village (Ferncross),an eccentric amateur sleuth, upper middle class villagers and a mysterious derelict manor house where death happens rather to often whenever a light appears in one of the rooms.
This village definitely has some murky secrets...I must say that the end was somewhat of a suprise (but a good one! )
Especially recommended for fans of British murder mysteries.

This book was truely intriguing and i really like how well this book was thought out and written definitely will be reading more books by this author.
