A well written book about American history in Texas, Alabama and Mississippi from their beginnings until around 1830. Each chapter has a different topic such s law, travel or transport. The book has a good index and notes which help the reader in their understanding of the different characters. I enjoyed this delve into social history of pioneers from a different time. Many thanks to Net Galley for my copy. It was a very interesting read. I reviewed on Goodreads and Amazon.
