Too light and chicklitty for me, but younger readers may love it.

After reading a number of Sarah Morgans previous titles I am always sceptical as to how she can top her last book, but wow she has done it with this one. I absolutely loved Holiday in the Hamptons, I wanted to be there with Fliss, in fact I wanted to be Fliss!!
The characters, the location and the story line were memorable which I personally find rare these days. Corny as it sounds I did not want to put this book down as I was desperate to know more about Fliss and Harriet's troubled upbringing, and Fliss's past relationship woes.
Amazing, 5 stars, would recommend and read again!

A great, feel-good summer read. I loved the twists and turns of Fliss, Seth, Manhatten and the Hamptons!

Holiday in the Hamptons was another great book by Sarah Morgan. Although this book was the third book in the New York, Actually series this book can be read as a stand alone. This book is all about Fliss and her ex husband Seth whom she hadn't seen in 10 years. Throughout the story we find out the reasons for their separation and for Fliss she can't escape the past forever or can she?
A fab read by Sarah which once again hooked me in and I struggled to put it down I was hooked from the first few pages. Well deserved 5 stars for this great book.

Just what you need when it's supposed to be summer but it's actually raining. When summer is just around the corner...Off to the Hamptons we go - and what should be a retreat and a getaway imagine how you would feel if your ex turned up? It's the wit and charm of Sarah Morgan that weaves a serious story with emotional impact with a story of hope and starting over. It became more emotional as I read and was quite sad in parts! But the backdrop of the Hamptons shines with promise and hope and I could imagine myself there in the sun, walking along the white sandy beaches just wondering who in this glitzy life style might just have the same or worse problems that you or I. The story seemed more emotional because of the setting but Sarah's wit and sparkle brings it nicely together.

This book focuses on one of the younger sisters of a character we meet in New York Actually (another of Sarah Morgan's books) and tells us her story. After a brief marriage when she was 18 Fliss moved to New York with her twin sister where she has been living and working for the last ten years. When her ex-husband Seth turns up Fliss, not wanting to confront her past, goes to visit her grandmother in the Hamptons where the family used to holiday. Unknown the Fliss however this is now where Seth lives.

The family relationships and friendships are enjoyable throughout the novel as is the humour. Sarah Morgan’s writing style is very easy to read and follow and every moment is put together well. I especially liked how we were given the past relationship piece by piece alongside the current story. The descriptions were perfect and transported you to the settings she was describing. This was a well written romance with touching as well as humorous moments.

Overall this is a solid enjoyable summer read.

Holiday in the Hamptons is the latest instalment in the From Manhattan With Love series by Sarah Morgan, with the focus this time being on Fliss. If you have been following the series then you will know from the previous novel - New York, Actually - that Fliss has suddenly been made aware that her ex-husband, Seth, is currently working in the city as a vet.

The beginning of Holiday In The Hamptons gives a little background history so can totally be read as a stand alone novel, however I personally feel that you would benefit reading in order.
Fliss starts with some comical avoidance moments as she really can't face seeing Seth, although she says it is from the way they broke up, as I reader I suspected that it was more due to the fact that there where lingering feelings lurking around.
When Fliss' Grandmother rings informing Fliss who is pretending to be Harriet, to inform them that she has had a fall and needs some care for a few weeks, Fliss begs Harry to let her go believing that this is just the escape from Seth she needs...

Only what she doesn't know is that Seth working in Manhattan was a temporary measure and he has already returned to his home in the Hamptons.

What follows is some more great comical moments as Fliss tries to portray the image that she is Harriet, along with a bumpy ride of discovery and truths about events in the past which are to know shape her future. Holiday In The Hamptons is a real roller coaster of emotions for both Fliss and Seth, and just when you think things are on the right path, something happens which puts barriers straight back up.

Holiday In the Hamptons is a wonderful story about love and discovery. Yes, there are lies and deciept but these are done through fear and panic and it was a joy to read and see Fliss go through the emotions and challenges of opening up not only to her Grandmother and Seth but to Harriet too where we see a slightly different side to Harry so I can't wait to read her story later in the year.

I found Seth a really good character - although nursing his own heartbreak he was patient and understanding with Fliss yet determined and strong too.
I loved Grams and her friends - they could do their own series alone but provided light relief to the darker plots of Fliss' past.

Another fab read from Sarah Morgan on what has been a wonderfully romantic series thus far.

Such a lovely story, a most worthy edition to the series. Fliss is mortified when she discovers that her ex-husband is working at the vetinerary practice her company uses for any problems with their dogs. When an opportunity occurs she flees to spend a few weeks in the Hamptons, taking care of her grandmother who is shaken up after a nasty fall. The first person she bumps into is her ex-husband Seth, who had only been helping out at the practice in Manhattan; and to both him and her grandmother she pretends to be her identical twin sister Harriet, a ruse that fools neither of them. The reasons for her panic gradually unfold through the book, and it is a well written account of how family can build you, or destroy you. Food for thought indeed!
Sarah writes emotion so well, and in this story there is just about every emotion you can think of. A really worthwhile story to read. I am looking forward to Harriet's story immensely.

“Long story. Come to think of it, everything in my life is a long story. I don’t seem to manage the short, simple version. Forget novellas, I’m War and Peace meets Game of Thrones, without the dragons and dead people.”

ARC received from: Netgalley

Rating: 4.5*

Trope: Reconciliation Romance

Chemistry: Simmering

One-Sentence Summary: Broken hearts learn to heal at the beach

Review: Ahhh this was everything I hoped it would be ever since we first met Fliss in New York, Actually.

Seth and Fliss gave me all the FEELS and the build-up and UST between them was borderline overwhelming. I don’t want to ruin anyone’s enjoyment of their story so that’s all I’m going to say about their relationship for now.

Other things I loved was the beach setting and the relationships between Fliss and Grandma and Fliss and Harriet (hope we get to enjoy more of that in the next book) – I love the contrast between Fliss the impulsive feisty one and Harriet the quiet reliable one. I thought it was a nice idea bringing back Chase/Matilda from the novella that started the whole series and cameo appearances from the three heroines from the first trilogy in the series.

If all that wasn’t enough to win me over then the abundance of cute dogs sure did.

I am looking forward to Harriet’s story but can’t help but feel that the series has peaked with this book as writing reconciliation romances definitely seems to be Morgan’s forte.

The perfect escape, 5 stars 🌟 :

Holiday in the Hamptons is exactly as the title suggests with beautifully written scenes which make you feel as if you are there at the beach and as always with Ms Morgan's books a love of dogs is a strong theme throughout.

Our flawed heroine, Fliss has spent her whole life believing her father, that she wasn't good enough and that she'd fail but with her grandmother's help she begins to see herself and the past more sensitively. As she begins to see herself through the eyes of first her grandmother then her twin sister and reconnects with her first and only love Seth who patiently shows Fliss how to overcome the past, they tentatively make a fresh start together until a phone call from Seth's sister rocks Fliss' confidence and she flees again, can Fliss and Seth finally clear the air and get over all the past hurt to move forward together?

Ms Morgan writes such wonderful three dimensional characters that you find yourself willing them on and I particularly loved the update of past characters in the book, which encouraged me to look back at Ms Morgan's back catalogue to see if Matilda and Chase have their own story as the short synopsis we are given in this story certainly wet my appetite for more, for anyone interested you can find Chase and Matilda's story in Midnight at Tiffany's, my next read!

In addition I hope Harriet, Fliss’ twin will be being getting her own story soon, as in my mind when she ran back to the Hamptons it was not only for her concern for her sister but also because there is a dog loving man she is trying to outrun!

I thoroughly enjoyed Holiday in the Hamptons and felt it was interesting to see how Fliss’ character developed once this misconception she was the bad twin was corrected, even if those feelings never go away entirely.

Fyi I received my copy from NetGalley however, this does not influence my opinions.

Holiday in the Hamptons is a light hearted romance centred around Felicity, with her identiacal twin Harriet playing a second part, not to mention her ex husband Seth.
The twins have a history of emotional abuse stemming from their father which has left both of them vulnerable in different ways. Fliss is defensive and has always felt a need to protect Harriet, the quieter one of the two.
Fliss and her twin have a successful dogwalking business in the city . All is going well until Fliss realises that her ex husband Seth is working in as a veterinary surgeon nearby. Not realising that he was only acting as a locum, she panics and runs off to look after her grandmother in the Hamptons. Seth appears out of the blue, and panicking even more, she pretends to be her twin sister, which of course does not fool him for a moment.
Eventually the truth comes out .
The story is nice but a little predictable. Fliss gradually gets over her distrust of people including herself whom she has always seen as 'Bad Fliss' There is, of course, a happy ending!
Amazon is not taking reviews as yet. Thanks to Netgalley for a preview copy of the book.

Holiday in the Hamptons (From Manhattan with Love #5)
Sarah Morgan
Book Review: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Holiday in the Hamptons is a second chance romance novel. Felicity wants to escape her ex-husband. She hasn't seen him in 10 years, but her feelings are still raw, and when he invades her town she decides a trip to her Grandmothers is the perfect opportunity. Little does she know Seth's stay was temporary and she just set off in his direction. This book is about finding the place you were always meant to be. Time doesn't heal all wounds. A place in one's heart can be forever.

Holiday in the Hamptons offers friendship, love, a little laughter and the complexity of family.

This book can be read as a standalone story. I have not read the previous stories and this one made perfect sense.

4 stars out of 5.

The story of a couple separated by a life changing incident and how Fliss due to an awful childhood found it impossible to communicate.

Brought together years later can the couple break through barriers to get the life they started ten years before.

Very enjoyable book. Giving an insight as to how a cruel and bullying parent can affect a child throughout their whole life and right into adulthood.. It was interesting to see how Fliss progressed and was able to find love.

Absolutely loved this book. Read it literally in one sitting. I would love to read about the next stage in Fliss and Seth's lives. I'm hoping there will be a second book.
It was a lovely gentle read and as I have been struggling with anxiety over the last few months this book definitely got my reading mojo back. Thank you Sarah Morgan. 😍

There are twins - Harriet and Fliss - who are identical, but not to those who really know them. They have a very controlling father with anger issues and a placating mother. Fliss is constantly being told by her father that she is useless and worthless . Fighting against that viewpoint and protecting Harriet from her father and other bullies has dominated Fliss's life and behaviour. Harriet constantly retreats from conflict and is very quiet and nervous, often stammering when confronted.
Both twins flourish in the Hamptons as children each summer, as they stay with their maternal grandmother in her cottage. The father is rarely there and the sea and sand and familial warmth are safe havens for them both.
But Fliss’s headstrong behaviour lands her in an early marriage and divorce to Seth, their brother’s best friend.
And it the theme of safe haven that pervades the story. A quiet place, serene, with emotional warmth.
