#4 in Robert Bryndza's very good Erika Foster series set in London that I have read from the beginning and thoroughly enjoyed. This book sees the dangers of social media as a serial killer stalks young woman using that resource......a killer that we meet before the halfway point of the book and find out some of their backstory which reveals snippets of some of the "why" behind a deranged mind. And there is more forward movement with the Detective Inspector Foster character as she tries to come to grips with both her career and her life.........but the hook is that there is so much more potential that the author has at his disposal not only for Erika but for the entire supporting cast. I very much look forward to continuing with this series.

Thanks to the publisher and Net Galley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Fantastic and thrilling, this is the fourth book in the Detective Erika Foster series, based in South London. The book is fast paced and thrilling with some gruesome murders. Erika needs to get on the case for this one, as at the moment she is not working for the Murder Investigation Team. But with persistence she she get assigned and back to work with her team.
I loved the book, read it in just a few days as it is hard to put down.

Fantastic, thrilling fourth book in the Erika Foster series. Fast paced, thrilling, gruesome murders are going on in South London and Erika is back on the case after some personal problems, she just can't leave things be but once assigned she gets her team on it and gets to work. I loved the references to Ecuador, living not far from Ambato in the center north of the country. It helps if you read the series in order, this way you get to know and understand the main characters. This book also shows the dangers you can face when using social media.
I can highly recommend the series, just go through them in order so that they make more sense.
Robert Bryndza appeared from nowhere with Girl in the Ice a short while back and has created a top notch series.

This is one of my favorite series. Ericka is stepping on toes and pushing hard to get her old job back and maybe find love again. But she is going about it in her usual way of plowing ahead and then asking forgiveness.

On the job, someone is stalking and torturing young women around London and then killing them and dumping the bodies in dumpsters. Ericka has found another victim that matches the MO of this murder and wants in on the case.

Time between killings is getting shorter and while they have a lot of information, the man himself seems to not even exist.

It's always a nail biting, lip biting read with this series! And this latest is no different. Well done, Mr. Brynzda!

This book is coming out in April of 2017 through Bookouture, so check it out! Here

Yet another fantastic read in he Erica Foster series , I love the relationship she has with her close team and I raced through this book , really enjoyed the fact that the killer was using social media to find his victims , almost stalking them first and it's an interesting point of the case , how much information we all put out there with no filters . The only tiny disappointment for me was it wasn't really explained why the killer killed the way he did , it was a very specific way , but that is just a teeny niggle in what was a fantastic book again , please hurry with the next one .... thank you so much for the opportunity to read and review this

Oh my word this book is absolutely brilliant. It's the fourth book in the DI Erika Foster series by the immensely talented Robert Bryndza. 'Last Breath' in my opinion is the best one in the series. The others are all excellent as well but this one just had the slight edge. I was totally engrossed in this book from page one. I didn't want to put it down and just wanted to read it all in one go it's that good. It contains everything a crime thriller should. If I could I'd have given this book more than five stars.

My thanks to Robert Bryndza and Bookouture for the advanced review e copy. My review is entirely my own honest opinion.

Will leave my reviews on Amazon UK and Amazon.com on publication day. Review left on Goodreads

Detective Erika Foster is back in the 4 the book of this series.

A woman's body is found in a dumpster. She has been badly beaten and her femoral artery has been cut. Erika is one of the first detectives on the scene. But it's not her case. As she fights to secure her place on the investigation team, Erika finds a link to another woman who was found in similar circumstances four months earlier. How many more victims will there be before Erika and her team of detectives solve this case?

Wow. For me this has been the best in the series so far. Robert Bryndza has a real gift in writing. From the first few pages I knew I was reading another best seller. This book is well written, gripping, tense and it had me on the edge of my seat on several occasions. The plot line is believable. I highly recommend this book.

I would like to thank NetGalley, Bookouture and the author Robert Bryndza for my ARC in exchange for an honest review.

You know how sometimes you're looking forward to reading a book and then it disappoints you completely. Well, this is definitely and unequivocally not the case with Last Breath by Robert Bryndza.

It is the fourth installment in the Detective Erika Foster series and in my opinion, it is the best one yet.

In this book, the murderer befriends his victims online and then when they arrange to meet up, he kills them in a most violent manner. Detective Erika Foster is not part of the investigation initially and cannot help but get involved and fights to be part of it. She is tough as nails but her heart is in the right place. It's a turbulent read with many twists and turns and it really does keep one on the edge of one's seat. It's a thriller but there are some humorous moments where I found myself chuckling. <spoiler> There was an element of sadness too as I was a little sad at the death of Sparks (I kind of enjoyed the conflict between him and Erika and it made me root for her even more). <end spoiler> Robert Bryndza is a masterful writer and really engages the readers from the first page. I have found that this has been the case with all of his books and I have finished them all in record time.

Erika has grown so much since the first book in the series. I have really taken a liking to her character as she is a no-nonsense type of person and does not let anyone step on her toes. She has also suffered great tragedy but finally seems to be coming to terms with it in this book. Summing up her character in one word, I would say she's 'real'.

This book can be read as a standalone novel although there are references to past cases and characters. I would advise one to read the other 3 books first as it gives one better insight into the characters. It is an absolutely fabulous series and I cannot wait for the next book.

As a final note, we are always warned about the dangers of meeting up with strangers from social media. I love that Robert Bryndza has tackled this topic. I know this is just a fictional story, but it makes one realize how dangerous and scary it is to just meet up with someone from social media. Well done for getting this very message across Robert Bryndza.

Thank you to Netgalley and Bookouture for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book.

Okay let me begin with.. I LOVE this series. Seriously, Robert Bryndza/ Erika Foster - I'm a big fan. Robert can do no wrong.

You'd think by book 4 in the Detective Erika Foster series, that it would start to get a little stale, maybe a bit boring reading about the same Detective, but let me tell you now, this might just be the best one yet. I'm just mad I read it so quick because now it's over!

Last Breath starts with a young woman's body being found in a dumpster, battered and bruised almost beyond recognition. Erika Foster has had many ups and downs over the series and fights to get her spot on the investigative team to solve this murder. Little does she know that this is just the beginning and there will be almost a cat and mouse game to find the killer.

Robert's descriptions of everything, including the killer made me shudder and everytime a character felt sickened by a scene, so did I, that's how descriptive and fantastic a writer he is.

Cannot wait for the next one.

Detective Erika Foster and her team, Moss and Peterson, investigate the deaths of badly beaten girls
left in a garbage dumpster. We get both sides of the story, that of Erika and her team and that of Darryl Bradley, the killer, so we know the who done it but there's still lots of suspense in the chase. This story is fast paced with a lot of action, tension, and strong believable characters with their personalities continuing to evolve in this the 4th book of the series.
Dr Isaacs advise to Erika was spot on. I liked that she took it to heart and is trying to soften up.
The subject of online safety and the need for caution is a true reflection of todays society. I believe readers will have second thoughts of what they post after reading this novel.
I loved Last Breath as I did the first 3 in the series and I recommend all 4 as a must read.

This series just continues to get better. Erika Foster is slowly starting to develop a relationship with her working detective Petersen. I like this development. It makes Erika more human . She continues to take her work seriously and will stop at nothing to find this crazed social media killer. Moss is another likeable, genuine character who has a sense of humour. Lots going on in this book. Love the short but intense chapters. There is always some Oh No moments at the end. Great fast paced read .

Erika Foster is one of the first people to discover the dead body in a dumpster. Unfortunately she is not on the task force for this murder investigation. Her first task is to work her way onto the investigation which she manages in a very dramatic manner. She then has to work out who the killer is and why he is targeting these women.

Exactly what we have come to expect in the Erika Foster series- a well written, well plotted story with well developed characters. Love this series!!

A strange thing happens when I begin a Robert Bryndza novel - two small voices vie for my attention. The first is insisting I have other more pressings things to attend to, and the second is demanding that I carry on reading regardless. No prizes for guessing which one wins!

Detective Erika Foster is back in the Murder Investigation Team, but she's not there without a fight, she's had to grovel to get her place back on the team, and she's eager to get on with the latest case.

A young woman is discovered brutally murdered in a dumpster, this beautiful girl has been tortured, and has numerous cuts and broken bones. Some of the cuts had started to heal before she was killed, suggesting that she'd been held for some days before her death.

The killer is connecting with young attractive women via social media. His fake profile suggests that he's handsome, successful, and funny, but he's like a spider with a fly - simply waiting in the shadows for the right time to pounce!

With Detective Erika Foster on the case we know we're in safe hands, this lady will stop at nothing to bring the bad guys to justice, and she quickly discovers a link to a murder committed a few months earlier. She still manages to upset her superiors in a way that no one else would dare, but it's always with the sole intention of solving a case, and if that means she ruffles a few feathers then so be it.

Robert Bryndza has set the bar high yet again. This is a phenomenal read, there's action from page one, and basically it never stops! It's the kind of story that makes your heart race, and left me in danger of hyperventilating. It moves along at such a pace, it's exciting, scary, and something that won't be easily forgotten. We have such a well developed character too in Erika Foster. She's as abrasive as ever, but I think we got to see a slightly softer side to her this time around.

A great storyline, well written, totally gripping. Gosh, what else can I say? It's brilliant!

I became a fan of Robert Bryndza's detective series right after I read the first book The Girl In The Ice last year and I have been looking forward to another Erika Foster adventure ever since I finished the third book. Last Breath was on my list of most anticipated releases this year: I literally requested a copy the minute it appeared on Netgalley and put all my other reads on hold. It looks like Erika Foster came back stronger than ever! Last Breath is without doubt my new favorite novel of the series... And not just because of the excellent plot and disturbingly creepy killer. I also really liked the interaction between Erika and the other main characters in this one and it is great to see her character evolve over time. The case had me hooked right from the start and the plot and plot twists had me on the edge of my seat the whole time. I literally couldn't put Last Breath down until the final page! In short, this fourth Erika Foster book is fast-paced, full of twists, well written, has an interesting plot, disturbing killer and just the right amount of creepy; what more to ask? I’m already looking forward to book five and this one hasn’t even been published yet.

I would like to thank NetGalley, Bookouture, and Robert Bryndza for the advanced digital copy in exchange for an honest review. Detective Erika Foster and her team, Moss and Peterson, investigate the death of a young woman who was found tossed into a dumpster after being savagely beaten with her femoral artery lacerated. While probing for information, Erika uncovers a similar case and begins to piece together the likelihood of a serial killer. With another girl gone missing and time running out, she must push herself and her colleagues to connect the few clues with the hopes of saving this young woman's life. While Bryndza continues his character development, we encounter a more vulnerable Erika and it appears that her future looks promising and filled with some new and exciting endeavors. I will be eagerly awaiting the next installment.

Another absolutely gripping book by the extremely talented Robert Bryndza.

The 4th book with the very excellent Erica, Peterson and the team leads us in the hunt for what appears to be an extremely cruel, yet clever killer. During dinner together, Petersen receives a call from work, notifying him that a body has been found in a dumpster and he is needed at the crime scene. As his boss is delayed because of the falling snow, Erica insists on coming with him to help secure the scene, not leaving Petersen any room to argue, despite her no longer working in the department.

At the scene Erica is soon face to face with her nemesis, Superintendent Sparks who wastes no time in throwing around the insults. This doesn't sway Erica though in her dogged pursuit to catch the killer. She hates her job on the Project's Team and is desperate to be back on the Murder Investigation Team and has applied for a transfer, even if it means working for a man she despises.

Meanwhile, we are introduced to the killer, who is already online, creating a new profile, looking for his next "date"

To go further into the story would be difficult without giving away some major spoilers. However, this should come with a fresh pair of pj's and a blanket, because once you pick it up, you won't be able to move until you reach the end.

It seems such a long time since I began reading the Erica Foster series but I'm so glad I discovered them. I can honestly say this has reached the giddy heights of my Top 5 series of all time.

This book is so bloody brilliant!!!! At one point I was so caught up in it, I missed my mouth and poured hot tea down the front of myself. It is non-stop action and suspense and Erika Foster kicks bums.

I would like to thank Netgalley and Bookouture for an advance copy of Last Breath, the fourth police procedural to feature DCI Erika Foster.

Erika is unhappy in her current job, working on projects so when colleague with benefits, James Peterson, is called out to a murder scene she doesn't hesitate in insisting on helping him. Despite being sent away from the crime scene where a battered young woman has been found in dumpster Erika can't help investigating herself and soon finds a similar murder from a few months earlier. Due to some unfortunate circumstances she soon finds herself leading the investigation.

I thoroughly enjoyed Last Breath. It is a maturer but no less gripping novel than its predecessors, due to its warts and all investigation and deeper characterisation. The investigation is extremely well done as it covers police politics, personalities and the sheer frustration of not being able to move forward (that being very well done as you feel it strongly as you read).

Erika Foster is becoming a very well drawn character. She's always been dedicated, outspoken and impulsive but in Last Breath we begin to see her doubts and worries. She is guilty about moving on from her dead husband with James but we start to see the shoots of a willingness to try for happiness (yeah!). She starts to question her interactions with other people as realises she may sometimes be out of line and actually manages an apology or two! She is still overly dedicated to her job and desire to make a difference but she is becoming more human and even more likeable.

The reader knows who the killer is almost from the start. I'm not normally a big fan of this approach but it works well in this novel. The sheer banality of his life is in sharp contrast to his narcissism as the novel progresses. It's fascinating.

Last Breath is an excellent read so I have no hesitation in recommending it.

Hard to believe we're already up to the fourth book in this series and Erika Foster is back with a bang!

Stuck in a boring office job and drowning in administrative paperwork, she's determined to get back to where she belongs : the murder investigative team. So when the body of a young woman is found in a dumpster, she immediately grabs the opportunity to attend the scene.

This is another page turner and quite a quick read. Or maybe that was me, swiping the pages like a mad woman as the action built up. Erika's going through some changes, showing more emotions and vulnerability. A side to her we've not seen too much of. (Maybe she's pregnant? ;-) ) It's always a good thing to see more character development along the way. Don't fret, she hasn't changed that much. She's still fiery, outspoken and impulsive.

The reader knows pretty early on who the killer is but that didn't bother me at all. I thought it was quite fascinating to see how their mind works and how they try to keep up the pretence of living a normal life while Erika and her team are desperately trying to figure out who they're chasing before they strike again.

Sometimes you start to build up expectations and worry you may be feeling left disappointed. It happens quite a bit in series. Not just in books, but tv show seasons too. (I'm looking at you "Lost".) But not in this case, as Robert Bryndza is amazingly consistent.

Last Breath is an excellent addition to this series and quite possibly the best one so far. Bring on the next one!
