I love Paige Toon's style, her stories always amaze me and this one seems like it is going to be another winner. The emotion and love she injects since the begining, makes you want to keep reading non-stop. I already bought the whole book and I cannot wait to find out how Bridget's story continues!

Sadly I didn't realise this to be only a chapter sample. as I have read all her other books, I KNOW her writing and wouldn't have needed this, ups. I really really wanted to read this title, so I guess I do have to buy this one too, haha.

When Nicole Dupre dies after having a best seller published her husband feels that the sequel should still be written and so when Bridget a travel blogger is approached she agrees to do this with the help of Nicole's notes as long as she can continue writing her own novel in parallel

The sampler chapter is a great taster for what is to come - I always love Paige Toon's books they are great light hearted fun that always get you caring about the main characters - and the link her with Cornwall and Australia...two of my favourite places in the world

The Last Piece of My Heart, written by Paige Toon, is another "must read" by this author! I completely devoured this book in one sitting...yes, it is that good! Paige Toon is one of those rare authors that you immediately know you are in for a treat whenever you read one of her books!

Bridget is a travel journalist with dreams of writing a book. She writes a well known blog about relationships, specifically her ex-boyfriends, and how she loses pieces of herself after each breakup. However, her dreams of turning her blog into a book don't go as planned because she keeps getting turned down by various publishers. However, Bridget is offered an opportunity that just might help her achieve her dream after all.

Nicole Dupre was a best selling author in the process of writing a sequel to her best seller, The Secret Life of Us, when she died suddenly from a brain aneurysm. Bridget is asked to finish writing the sequel as a ghostwriter. Bridget jumps at the opportunity and goes to Padstow, Cornwall. In order to continue with the sequel, she needs to spend time pouring over Nicole's notes, as well as interviewing Nicole's widow, Charlie Laurence, to find out exactly what Nicole planned for this book.

Charlie Laurence is still completely grief stricken seven months after his wife Nicole suddenly died. He is attempting to hold his life together while taking care of his eight and a half month old daughter, April. Nicole didn't live long enough to see what a huge success her novel became. The novel ended on a cliffhanger, and out of loyalty to his wife and her readers, he gave the okay for a ghostwriter to complete the sequel. His only hope is that Bridget is the right one for the job!

The story that unfolds is beautifully written and is truly a heartwarming read. Bridget is an amazing character, and I loved the similarities between her and the main character in Nicole's book, Kit. Charlie will break your heart because you will feel his grief and his pain, and April will steal your heart. Paige Toon's wonderful storytelling will have you laughing out loud and silently shedding tears, all while wanting to see these characters get the happy ending they all deserve! What starts out as a cautious relationship, slowly develops into a wonderful friendship. I was completely captivated from the start, and couldn't read this story fast enough. I thoroughly loved the journey these characters took me on and enjoyed seeing how the characters evolved as the story progressed. This is a story about life, love, loss, and friendship...but more importantly, it is about the strength to never give up no matter what obstacles life throws at you! I highly recommend this book and promise you will not be disappointed!

Thank you to Simon and Schuster UK and NetGalley for allowing me the opportunity to read and review this book. My views are my own and are in no way influenced by anyone else.

Review: I was so excited to read this novel and once I started it I couldn't put it own. I love how Paige Toon has such a knack for sweeping you off to a new place and leaving all your worries behind. This time we are swept off to Cornwall for a little bit and then to Thailand, what more could we ask for? I still really felt so immersed in Paige Toon's writing, even though I wasn't necessarily somewhere exotic, it just must be the gift that she has!

I loved the fact that this novel features and author, I wonder how much personal experience was put into this? And yet it is also about so much more. It is about learning to love after being hurt, about what constitutes lies and deception and about grief and how people handle that in different ways. And there are so many characters facing all or some of these issues. And yet I never felt at any time like this was an issue driven book. I just loved getting to know Bridget and in turn her getting to know Nicole and Charlie.

This book definitely has a slightly slower pace than some of this author's previous novels, I think perhaps because so much of it takes place in one setting. I loved the family aspect of it too, both Nicole's family and Bridget's family. There were some mo moments that made me laugh and others that made me cry. Of course I wanted to be eating fish an chips during the first section of the novel and then during the latter part of the novel, I was desperate for Pad Thai!

If you are a fan of Paige Toon then obviously you will love this novel. If you are looking for a summer read that you can loose yourself in and escape from the real world then this definitely needs to be added to your collection. The slightly slower pace didn't stop me finishing this one in one day and I am sure that you will absolutely fly through this one, tissues at hand and be left feeling all warm and fuzzy afterwards!

I absolutely adore Paige Toon's books and this book doesn't seem like it will disappoint! I loved Bridget's character in 'The Longest Holiday' and can't wait to read more about her and her life. Will definitely purchasing this book once it has been released!

Paige Toon does it again. Three chapters were just enough to involve the reader and have her become involved. I can't wait until the book is published to find out how it develops.

I enjoyed the chapter snippets, and am excited to read the whole book! I'm reading her other book "Thirteen Weddings", and have enjoyed her others as well. I hope this full book will be released on Netgalley soon. If not, I'll buy it for a good pool read.

Having never a read a book by Paige Toon, I was not sure what to expect. I have read the chapter sampler for her book and I didn't want it to end. I can not wait to get the book and finish off what I have started. Easily a book you can read in one sitting and that's just from reading the first few chapters! The characters draw you in and leave you wanting to know more about them and the scene is set beautifully. I'm already in love with Bridget and can not wait to finish.

"A successful travel journalist, Bridget has ambitions to turn her quirky relationship blog about the missing pieces of her heart into a book. But after a spate of rejections from publishers, she accepts an alternative proposition.

Nicole Dupré died leaving behind a bestselling novel and an incomplete sequel. Tasked with finishing the book, Bridget is thankful to have her foot in the publishing door, even if it means relocating to Cornwall for the summer and answering to Nicole's grieving husband, Charlie..."

I was very lucky to be given the chance to read a few chapters of this book before it is released on the 18th of May

Just by reading the prologue, I knew instantly that this book was something I'd enjoy.

the prologue starts with Bridget being in Australia wondering what will happen when she bumps into her first love Elliot. When all of a sudden they see each other and he invites her to spend the afternoon with him and his friends, after catching up they then go for dinner and thats the end of the prologue

As It was only a sample, it didn't take me long to get me hooked onto the book and then realised I'll have to wait a while to read the full story but personally I loved it. Bridget having to write the rest of the ending to Nicole's sequel made me feel like I was alongside Bridget writing the book and at some points, even made me have some ideas for the book!

I can't wait for it to be released and see what happens after the chapters.
Keep an eye out for a full book review very soon!

So far so good! I have only read the Prologue and the first three chapters but I am left wanting more! I hope Bridget's story continues along the path of being exciting and fun with hint of romance. There is a small chance that the plot of this novel will be predictable but as it is my first time reading a novel by Paige Toon I cannot say fore sure one way or the other. I can say that so far the first three chapters are entertaining, convincing and witty and that Paige Toon's novel has drawn me in. I can't wait to read "The Last Piece of My Heart" in its entirety.

Thank-you also to NetGalley and Simon and Schuster for the opportunity to read a pre-release teaser of the novel.
