Great story full of twists and turns, I just loved the mystery element. I didn't guess correctly, which is always fun because I try and put a lot of thought into my predictions. I loved the writing style by this author. I think this might have been my first book by her so I'm checking out other releases by her right now! Loved this one.
Despite the 'psychological thriller' tag, this book is unexpectedly funny and Hannah almost gets to the point of deconstructing the genre which - let's face it - is becoming outworn and ever more desperate to pull off yet another twist.
The story takes its time to get where it's going and we're almost 25% in before things really take off: before that we have lots of holiday-spa porn (and this is the perfect book to read while lounging by a pool, cocktail on hand), as well as the introduction of some laugh-out-loud American characters that poke fun at cultural stereotypes. The ending is just - my, like Agatha Christie updated!
This is very different from Hannah's more emotionally-vexed Culver Valley series, but that had kind of written itself to a standstill. So it's nice to see Hannah come back with something different, funny, clever and purely entertaining. Definitely one to pack into your suitcase come summer holidays.
