This book reminded me of serials I used to enjoy is weekly magazines many years ago/ Despite technology etc it still feels more like that era .

Sam is a city worker yearning for the country and seizes the opportunity to visit her granny as often as she can, Circumstances conspire for her to move in with the old lady. She too is like something from a long ago type of old lady, yet she doesn't know the first hing about caring for pets it would seem, however Sam is on hand to educate her. But isn't so savvy she can tell when someone falls in love with her etc.
There are lots of sensible messages like get your pet micro-chipped and beware of lethal pollen from lilies if a cat is likely to be in contact with it.
It's quite a pleasant story with a very annoying central character.

We catch up with Sam in this fourth instalment of the book. We see what happened to Nana from the cliffhanger at the end of the last book. We see that Sam is coping well with her pregnancy but David still wants to be more than friends, how Joe is coping with his wife’s illness and what has happened between Sam and the baby’s father.

This was an easy story, I liked the way that Sam and Joe brought the piglets into the world and then Joe did the same for Sam and her baby. A nice satisfactory conclusion to this story.

I've read the other three books in the series, and although it hasn't been my favourite series, I was intrigued to see where life took Sam. The last book ended on a cliff hanger, and when we catch up with Sam in the final part of the series, we get to see what happened. I think there will be more coherency to the series once it is published in one book, rather than parts. Definitely a light hearted read and perfect for fans of chick lit.

It was just a bit predictable for me, and I can't say I was entirely comfortable with the ending. Without giving away anything, a major part of the storyline just seemed a bit quick to me.

After the cliff-hanger of an ending to part three of ‘The Vets at Hope Green’, life has at last returned to normal for Sam. Her Nana is recuperating at home and Sam is enjoying working as a receptionist at the local veterinary practice. She is looking forward to the birth of her baby, but none-the-less feeling apprehensive about embarking on her life as a single mother. She loves the animals and enjoys her job, but feels that Joe doesn’t appreciate her worth in his practice, although she remains very close to his young daughter, even watching her compete at a local gymkhana.
One of the problems is that she is no longer occasionally helping Joe with his consultations and surgeries as he is very concerned about his practice insurance not covering an unqualified nurse/receptionist in the case of a malpractice case. But one night Joe is called out to an emergency farrowing where two baby piglets are struggling to be born naturally and without intervention. Really concerned about the welfare of the unborn piglets Joe is forced to break his own rules and take Sam out into the cold winter night to assist him as he cannot contact his other qualified veterinary nurses. What an adventure it turns out to be. Sam has more adventures and surprises in the rest of the novel for you to look forward to!
I’m quite sad that the novel is complete. I have enjoyed reading all about Sam’s new life with all of its changes and ups and downs. I have particularly liked the heart warming animal stories and reading about her new friendships. In the end her dreams of an idyllic country life have come true. She is now living with her Nana in Dorset instead of living the busy life she had in London, working in the city and living close by. If you love a healthy mix of rural stories, romance and veterinary stories, you will certainly like this novel.

What a sweet story this was.

The cliff hanger from the last part, with Nana Peggy, was resolved a bit too quickly. I'm glad it wasn't too serious, but I would have liked more depth to the situation, rather than the slight breezing over event. To be honest there were more pressing concerns for me with our main character, Sam, that I was eager to see carried out, so I was excited to get to that... As bad as that sounds, haha!

Sam has really developed over these books. From the last 2 books we started to get some hints at some troubling flashbacks of when she was a child and she always seemed to have them when she was around Ruby (who is so adorable!). The reasons behind her panic attacks were so traumatic and I felt so bad for her! It gave me a bit of explanation as to why she was behaving so strangely at times and it expressed that well. I'm really glad it was Joe she shared the story with.

I don't like how Joe has acted for the majority of the novels but he had his reasons, which to a degree doesn't excuse his behaviour... But nevertheless, I really liked how his personality grew and his relationship with animals and his daughter was beautiful.

David annoyed me because he seemed so weak but at the same time I really wanted something good to happen to him, romantically.

Nana was the same as ever and I loved it. She wasn't in it as much as I'd have liked but her advice was never far away.

I did not at all like the minor come back from Claire. I really didn't care for her excuses and apologies and I must admit, I'm a bit bitter at her and Sam's rekindled friendship.

We didn't have a lot of village community this time round as it was mainly focused on some urgent situations with Sam, which I was happy with, but did miss the village spirit. I would have liked to have seen more of it in the Christmas time- I bet it would have been beautiful!

I got some more information added to my knowledge inventory! I didn't know lilies are poisonous to cats so that was a horrid shock! Oh and there was one point at the pig farm which I was predicting in terms of plot but it all happened so fast that it still shocked me and I was once again left with empathy (and anxiety, of sense) for Sam.

Woah, I feel like so much has happened in this final part and it was great. Another quick read. I just love that despite all the hardships and the perfect example of how life isn't always easy, Sam got what she sort after, and in my opinion, what she deserved. It was a fantastic ending to a beautifully sweet story and I've loved every minute of it. This whole book left me positively beaming and I was so happy to have been wholeheartedly engrossed in the world of Little Sam. A very highly recommended novel/series.

I have been lucky enough to have read all 4 parts of this book pre-release. Part 3 was left on a cliff-hanger and I thought I would have to wait until it was released before I was able to finish the story, but luckily Part 4 was given to me in exchange for an honest review!

In this instalment we find out how Joe copes after a devastating loss. We also find out if Sam manages to stick at the job as the vet’s receptionist – a job that she obviously loves, but gets harder with Joe’s ever increasing bad moods. Can Sam make her dream of becoming a vet a reality, or is being a mother going to put a stop to that?

This was a lovely end to a lovely story. The characters are lovely (yes, even Grumpy Joe the Vet) and you can’t help but fall in love with them all. There is a new addition to the village as well when Sam’s baby is born, but things are never easy and the birth is definitely one to remember. There are tears of sadness and tears of joy. It was a shame the story ended (although I’m hoping there will be a second book….please!!). I’ve really enjoyed reading this story, and would definitely recommend this book, although I would have preferred to have read it in one sitting, as opposed to 4 different parts! It was a sweet, easy, heart-warming read that whisked you away from reality just for a little while! What more could you want!

The Vets at Hope Green Part Four is the final instalment in Sheila Norton's serialised novel.

With Sam's pregnancy advancing she is still juggling working as a receptionist for Joe in his vets surgery, living with her grandmother and trying to ward off the romantic advances of her friend David. After attending a call at a local farm with Joe, she helps to deliver 9 piglets and begins to wonder if she'll be able to cope once her baby is born.

The ending of this book is lovely and heartwarming. I've really enjoyed this series and the main characters, Sam, Joe and of course Nana are ones that really stay with you. I can definitely recommend the full length version of this book.

I was lucky enough to read the advanced review copies of the 3 parts of The Vets at Hope Green that came before this part and I loved them all. What went through my mind while I was reading this was that I was happy to be reading it but that I didn't want it to end. Part 4 was just as good as the other parts of the book and kept me hooked until the last word on last page. Sheila Norton is a marvelous storyteller and The Vets at Hope Green and its characters, plot and storyline will stay with me forever. It is now one of my favorite books and one I encourage you to read if you like stories about building a new life, romance family drama and characters many people will identify with. Wow! What an end to beautiful book! I fell in love with the characters in the book and the village and just enjoyed every part of this.

So many bombshells happened throughout the book and it kept me in suspense as to what was going to happen next for the characters.
