Conveniently Wed to the Greek is the story of Alex and Adele. Adele once wrote a damaging review of Alex's restaurant and he swore revenge, however when they meet again Alex ends up giving the pregnant Adele a job promoting his new resort.
I really liked this story. Both Adele and Alex were great characters with lots of chemistry, although the romance part takes a little while to get going. I especially liked that both characters, despite being part of your fairly typical Mills and Boon plotline, were well rounded and it felt like you could really root for them and their romance. 4 stars.
Harlequin delivers once again! Marriage of convenience stories are my favorite and this one just really gave me the feels. Recommended!
I'm honestly torn by this book.....I really wanted to enjoy it but I felt the whole way through it was lacking something....the characters felt a bit false and there wasn't enough development for me to really care about them. I finished it, thought it was ok, but I'm not sure I would read anymore from this author
I really, really enjoyed this book. Right from the first page I engaged with the heroine and when the hero appeared nice and early he was interesting from the start too. The author got the background details spelled out in the first chapter meaning that the story could just get running without having to pause for complicated plot reasons. The Greek setting was so well drawn that this would be the perfect book to read when you want to get in the holiday spirit. More from this author please!
CONVENIENTLY WED TO THE GREEK by Kandy Shepherd is a modern, entertaining tale of two adversaries discovering just how much they need each other in ways they could never imagine.
Adele Hudson is a top food blogger in Sydney, but now she finds herself out of a job, divorced from her childhood sweetheart, and giving IVF one last ditch attempt in the hope of achieving her dream of being a mother. But when she bumps into Alex Mikhalis, millionaire extraordinaire, who had threatened her in court a few years ago, Adele wants to avoid him at every turn. But Alex is not the same ruthless businessman that she met before. After a tragedy in his own life blew his world apart, Alex had removed himself from the spotlight, and now with a new venture on the horizon, he could do with a sassy, opinionated, clever right-hand like Adele Hudson. But as they work together, they begin to build a deeper friendship alongside their business, and never mind the sexual attraction that flares between them at every turn. But Alex has shut his heart down to the prospect of love, and Adele is struggling with her own situation. And when another tragedy threatens Alex, is it possible for them to enter a marriage of convenience and then walk away from each other at the end?
CONVENIENTLY WED TO THE GREEK by Kandy Shepherd is a sharp, enjoyable romance that is the perfect read for a sunny afternoon. Adele is a strong character who knows what she wants, and Alex is a reformed character who is desperate to right the wrongs of his past, as together they struggle with their feelings. Overall an easy, charming read.
Okay, I take it, that everyone who buys a book with a pink cover and a blurb like this one, expects something sweet, romantic - and sappy. You know the kind of book where you sigh and that are easy to read and you know exactly what is supposed to happen?
Right, that's exactly what you get here. And it is well written and convincing, you just know that Alex and Adele are meant for each other and that everything will turn out alright.
There were some twists that I hadn't expected and it made for an entertaining read with a swoon-worthy tycoon, who rather down-to-earth due to his horrible experiences and sweet, charming Dell who has lost everything and still smiles and makes Alex fall for her.
I enjoyed reading how they slowly realized how they felt about each other and, yep, there was a very big greek family involved as well. Nice, loving, a bit pushy and all in all a family that you might dream of. Alright, sometimes, when you don't want people to interfere in your lives, it might be rather nightmares but, well, sometimes they are really just nice and sweet. Even if they give you those aforementioned nightmares and try to play matchmaker.
If you expect an easy read that makes you swoon and smile - this is your book!
