Great story by David Hegarty as always. Well plotted, with characters that jump off the page!! A must read, highly recommended.
It's hard to find an original thriller these days that doesn't focus on tired and overused ideas, but this one was great!
In the beginning I worried that this was going to be a little slow, it didn't take off for me right away until after the second chapter, but once it got going, it had me flying through the pages. I liked the premise of the book from the start, and as the pieces began to fall into place and I began guessing (wrongly for the most part) what was going to happen next, I realised what a great book I was holding.
If you like your thrillers to be packed with action and love the kind of books where you never know who you can trust, then this will do nicely for you. The characters in this story are very lifelike and kept me feeling on edge, worrying what would happen to them--at times I forgot that I was reading a book, getting so involved in what was going on with them.
When you are looking for a book that can take you away from reality, keep this one in mind.

I loved Short Storm. This book gives a sense of place and tension that keeps the reader gripped. The characters had real depth and I found myself really caring about them and their issues, especially Eileen. What I loved was that the story took place over little more than 24 hours but within that, so much happens, you feel like you need to catch your breath sometimes. The dialogue is tight and the imagery is superb. I would have liked to hear more from the Priest - Father Tom, as I felt that there was more of a story here and it would really have added to what is already excellent. The situation described by the author is believable and I loved the human relationships which felt very real. A great read and I highly recommend this book.
