I received a copy of Never Die in January in exchange for an honest review.
Never Die in January started out as a promising police procedural thriller. Regrettably, it failed to deliver. The characters were numerous and while I could sort them out, they were undeveloped, one-dimensional, without any appeal; I did not connect with any of these bland characters. Furthermore, some of the characters didn't promote the storyline but were "fillers", without any meaningful purpose for propelling the plot along. I like a complex novel, but the several subplots in the storyline became confusing rather than complex. This was due, in part, to the poor transitioning between one scene to another. The interactions of the characters were flat and did not develop any suspense. The premise of the storyline was interesting, but due to the aforementioned, I became disinterested. There are numerous spelling and grammatical errors, which contributed to my confusion in reading.Howevee, I was reading an advanced copy, so the lack of editing may be corrected in the final edition.
