This seemed to be a very old fashioned science fiction story.
The characters felt very wooden and the story just did not read well.
Not for me.

The premise was good, the execution was poor. I know space travel is supposed to be slow, but in this book it is snail slow. There is no depth to the characters. And nothing to really like or for that matter dislike. The captain seems to me to be very ignorant about the working of his ship. And don't get me started on how they navigate. I just could not lose myself in this book, it was a slog to read.
