ELIZABETH MCGREGOR's novels are always thrilling. "You Belong to Me" is a story that keeps your nerves frayed and your eyes wide open throughout every page. I love the cover and the story of all of her novels!

It is rare that I dislike a book completely from the first page. You Belong To Me is disturbing in every way, but not the good way - meaning, that it is not disturbing because of its subject matter only, but it is also because of its disorienting writing style, its incomprehensible characters, and a choppy plot, that made me wish I never picked up the book in the first place.

I made it two-thirds through the novel, and then I simply could no longer manage to read the rest.

This book is basically about a family of unhinged characters who all have secrets that bind them, the story revolves around Cecily who is infatuated with her brother and has a weird relationship with her stepfather. Faith, an artist, ends up being dragged into their crazy world when Cecily decides she wants what Faith has, her house. An easy read, but not much of a page turner.

Faith's husband Guy leaves her for someone else, so she ups sticks and moves to a ramshackle house in Dorset where she meets Adam. She also comes into contact with the rather unpleasant Joz. This book seemed familiar and it turns out that it isn't a new book at all but came out 22 years ago which explains the lack of modern gadgets etc and the rather dated feel to it. However it would be a ok for a holiday read.

Faith Collins discovers she is pregnant not long after her divorce is finalized. She is surprised by the news and is anxious to leave her heartbreak behind and start a new life. She buys a house in a state of disrepair on an island,. Eventually, a famous interior designer, Cecily Joscelyne (known as Joz), commissions Faith to provide a set of paintings for one of her clients. Joz, trying to avoid a complete breakdown, comes to believe that if she moves to the same island as Faith that everything will turn around for her. Unfortunately, she wants Faith's house and will do anything to get it.

I was drawn in by this story and couldn't wait to find out what really happened. I didn't really like the description about animal cruelty. I would probably read more books by this author.

You belong to me by Elizabeth McGregor.
This was a good read with good characters.
When Faith Collins discovers that she is pregnant shortly after her divorce, the news comes as a surprise. Desperate to start a new life and escape her heartbreak, Faith, an artist by profession, buys a rundown house on an island off the coast of Dorset. And when Faith is approached by Cecily Joscelyne, a famous interior designer, to provide a set of paintings for a client, it seems that her life is finally getting back on track. But Cecily, or Joz as she is known, is secretly battling her own demons: mentally abused by her stepfather, Randolf, and hopelessly besotted by her brother, Thomas, she is close to a complete breakdown.Joz believes that if she can just find a retreat on the island that she and Thomas used to imagine as children, everything will be perfect. But there is one thing standing in the way of her plan: Faith Collins. For Faith’s house is the sanctuary Joz longs for – and one that she will do anything to get. With Joz prepared to go to extreme lengths to get what she wants, will Faith escape unscathed? This was dark and twisted. But I loved it. 5*. Netgalley and Endeavour press.

This is a psychological thriller with horror.
It had lots of twists and turns and kept me reading to find out what happened.

A very good thriller with fantastically twisted characters. My only criticism is that the book feels rather dated - I did notice that it was first published in the mid 90's, and unfortunately this reflects in the relevance of the story.

You Belong to Me was a great book that I enjoyed. I struggled to get into it in the beginning but glad I stuck with it.
Another great book by Elizabeth McGregor.

Unfortunately this novel failed to keep my interest. The dialogue was so choppy and the switching between characters so quickly makes it a hard read and not at all interesting. I had hoped the characters would be it's redeeming quality but unfortunately that was not the case, painful and terrible characters.

I wasn't sure I was going to like this book at first. I struggled to get into it for the first couple of chapters but boy is it worth it once you do get going. There is so much going on in this book murder, abuse, cheating affairs to name just a few. Faith discovers she's pregnant by her cheating husband just as he leaves her for his rich mistress. Deciding to start a fresh she buys herself a house down in Dorset away from the hustle and bustle of London. Faith can't believe her luckthat a famous interior designer commissions her to do some paintings for her and thinks her luck is finally changing. Joz the interior designer decides the house Faith bought is just right for her and nothing is going to stand in her way of her dream home for her and her brother Thomas. I don't want to give any spoilers so I will just say read it for yourself you won't be disappointed

This book was thrillingly twisted! A must for fans of psychological dramas, and obsession gone mad! Couldn't put it down and read into the small hours.

I started this book, but I am afraid that after a chapter I could no longer stomach the character of the main person. When she was relating the tale of the dog she had rescued i am afraid I had had enough.

Cecily and her family are pure nut jobs and poor Faith comes in contact with Cecily who from then on is obsessed with taking Faith's house away from her. That pretty much sums up this very long winded story. It was not for me.

This book had a lot of twists and turns, which kept it interesting! It was a good thriller! I was afraid that this book was going to be a cross between Single white female and Fatal Attraction, but it was not. This book created its own characters and drew you into the story within the first few pages. Thank you NetGalley for an opportunity to read this book and provide and honest review.

I loved this book, my only complaint is that It took awhile to really get into it, around the 20%, but once this book started getting exciting I couldnt put it down. I love the weird family stuff that goes on. I loved how crazy Cecily was and that whole ending and how all of their lives are tied together. It was a a great book, that I am glad I stuck with and finished.

This is one of those psychological thrillers with an added dash of horror level suspense that will have you gripping the book and flipping pages as your attention is captured by an intense storyline. Beware you may find yourself staying up late into the night trying to get from one cover to the next without stopping; if you do, you won’t be disappointed. It’s definitely one of the more unique thrillers on the market.

The creepy, skin tingling factor is set on high as you’re taken through a story that will yank you through twists and turns you never saw coming. It’s not overly fast paced but what she lacks for in pep is more than made up in character development with a complex group of people who are richly described and given realistic storylines.

Fair warning, the book opens with a bit of a rough start and a character it’s hard to care about, in fact she irritated me to the point I wanted to pay for her therapy myself. Something horrific is also done to a living entity and I’m just going to leave it at that; one of the character’s is channeling their inner sociopath so let’s just say it was pretty rough reading for a bit.
