Great story about finding love in your later years of your life, whether it will last forever or just one summer.

Really enjoyed this story, which was well written, and evidently really well researched given the background for Damir.

I wasn't too keen on the rather selfish grown up daughters, but could understand why they were behaving like they were,

This is just a really sweet story that I wish I had read when I wasn't feeling very ill, and thus may have enjoyed even more.

Thank you to Orion and Netgalley for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

This book was so refreshing to read a perfect holiday read
It is refreshing to read a love story about more mature love and also that following divorce in later life that one is not resigned to a love less existence
Great book.

Caro has not really got over her husband Chris leaving after their daughters have grown up and although it is now two years she doesn't think that she is interested in romance. Her best friend has tried to set her up with a man who has been widowed but it is going nowhere fast.

On the way home from looking after her grandson though she meets a man on the train, he buys her a gin and tonic when she realises that her grandson has removed the money from her purse and replaced it with lego! When she sees him the next week she returns the favour and they get talking - his name is Damir and he is from Bosnia, a lot younger than her....... surely he cannot be interested!

Suddenly there is new interest in her life she is not just a mother, grandmother and daughter at everyone's beck and call she has got a life of her own........but how will her family feel about this younger man!

A lovely book - especially interesting to hear Damir's back story about the conflict in Bosnia - chick lit with a bit extra

It makes a nice change to read a book about an older woman. Caro's husband left her two years ago when she was turning sixty. If there's anything that would make a woman feel her age it must be when her ex husband finds himself a younger woman. Caro has accepted it,her two daughters have accepted it so life just has to go on.

Her daughter's Lauren and Amy are involving Caro more in their lives to keep her occupied but she feels she's being taken advantage of slightly as she has plenty of things she wants to do for herself now.

She doesn't want another man, she's tried but there's never been that special feeling until Damir walks into her life. Can she trust him? He's younger, what will her daughters say or even her mother?

I loved Caro and throughout the book I just wanted what was best for her. I laughed out loud at a proposition her daughter Lauren put to her but I'm not going to tell you about it, but if you're Caro's age you will laugh too.

Damir was lovely but a bit brooding for me although he has plenty of reasons to be like that I couldn't have put up with him but he made for a good character.

This was such an easy book to read and just a lovely story of a strong woman finding the courage to tell people what she really wanted.

Another great read from Fanny, with a hugely identifiable central character and family conflicts that so many of us can recognise. Highly recommend

I do like the stories Fanny writes. This is no exception - she writes about love later in life, with all the mess that life has stored up by that point and the obstacles that are sent to try us. The story starts off quite simple and then opens up a world of surprises - we find out about Damir the same time as Caro and given her background, feel her pain confusion and fear. But she grabs life by the throat and allows herself to go where perhaps female readers might not dare - but this novel should served as a message of hope and how to conquer that fear! As the story gets more complex, you really feel for the characters and what they are going through - I enjoyed the dual journey timeline of the story - both Caro and Damir on their own journeys and where the final destination might take them. A comforting and very interesting read!
