This is a good cautionary tale about seeking revenge, unforgiving, broken bonds and the fatal consequences that follow. Brooke Green thought her mother was dead but finds out she is alive and well. What will Brooke do to pay her mother back for this deception? Will Brook marry the handsome Trent or let vengeance destroy her happiness? And who will lose fatally because of the consequence of vengeance?
This is a good book-- grade A.

Seeking Sarah
I got an advanced copy of this novel in exchange for an honest review. The description of the book caught my interest. Brooke believed all through her life that her mother died when she was 7 years old. She was brought up by a loving father and grandmother. Her father on his death bead is trying to tell her something, but dies before he actually says anything other than he was sorry. Brooke's grandmother reveals that Sarah , Brooke's mother is not dead, she left the family and never returned. Brooke decides to find her mother and hires a private detective in the search, who finds Sarah in a very short time. The novel takes a nosedive from this point. Sarah has no plan on what to do, when she finds her Mom, and starts stalking her and using her new family members to find out more about her. The first time she confronts Sarah is in front of a book store in a totally ridiculous situation. From here Sarah takes it upon herself to totally ruin Sarah's life which is the one thing she does achieve.
I couldn't identify with Brooke or her actions. Her anger at her mother leaving her was understandable but her actions were not. She never tried to understand what led to her mother leaving, in spite of Sarah's attempts to explain. I also found it strange how she suddenly remembered details of fights and conversations that took place while her mom was still home.
None of the other characters in the story drew me in either, from her fiancee, who couldn't understand her need to find her mother to Alex, Sarah's stepson or Anthony, Sarah's new husband. Overall I can't give this book more than two stars.
Thanks NetGalley, Galler books and the author for the advanced copy.

This book follows Brookes complicated life after her father dies she finds out her mother is alive, not dead like her father had her believe.
This book had me intrigued by the storyline and the drama that lies cause.

SEEKING SARAH by ReShonda Tate Billingsley is dark, twisted, and full of emotion. I couldn't put this book down!
At what length would you go to find something you desperately wanted? Would you lose yourself in the process?
Brooke grew up thinking her mother was dead, but 25 years later she found out the truth - she is alive and living in Atlanta! Brooke is in complete shock and riddled with mixed emotions from sadness, anger, and abandonment. Once Brooke finds out that her mother made a whole new life for herself, having the perfect "Brady Bunch" family, she decides to go to Atlanta to confront her. That's when things go wrong. From beginning to end this book kept me wanting more. Highly Recommend!
*I want to thank NetGalley and Gallery, Threshold, Pocket Books for the ARC.

The cover drew me in but the the story kept me reading.
It is such a beautiful story that constantly had me turning the page and wondering how everything would play out. I felt for Brooke so much - I can't imagine finding out that the mother you thought was dead, had really just abandoned your family when you were a child. There were definitely moment when I wanted to reach through the page and shake Brooke, especially those times when you could see how things would get screwed up in the future.
I found that this was a great light read, that kept me entertained throughout and also subtly teaches the lesson that sometimes while one searches for something they desperately crave, they also run the risk of losing themselves in the process.

I received this book free of changed from Net Galley in exchange for my honest review.
Brooke is a early 30's woman who seems to have it all.. or does she? She has a job as a PR representative and is newly engaged to Trent. When her father passes away, her world it turned upside down. Her mother, who she thought was killed in a car accident when she was 7, is really alive.
She tracks her mother, Sarah, down and finds that Sarah seems to have a perfect life. A new husband and daughter. Brooke is determined to cause all the sadness that she felt without a mother on her mother. Things spiral out of control with a tragic end.
I thought the author did a great job of keeping me interested in the story and wanting more. I liked the ending, which was a bit of a surprise.

This book was so creepy and chilling and I cant say enough good things about it. This book was a book that made me loose sleep and trust me I like my sleep. Highly recommend.

I finished in 24 hours or less. An amazingly captivating book, Reshonda really makes the reader think - and from various perspectives. I love that "missing parent" was the mother because stereotypically we never think it can be. Even the characters assertions of "hearing of fathers failing to come back" reminded you of how it's not a foreign concept until you change the gender role. I felt Brooke's emotion, appreciated that she ran the gamut of them at by given moment. As a parent I realized how often you want to "run away" yet your love and bond with your child is what keeps you enduring the often difficult times. Well written and executed with finality I enjoyed this book. 5 stars...but Reshonda never gives anything less.

Seeking Sarah is the latest book by ReShonda Tate Billingsley. Ms Billingsley did an excellent job of making the reading immediately connect with Brooke, the main character. I found Seeking Sarah difficult to put down as I felt as if I knew Brooke and we were friends. I was given an early copy to review.

An engaging novel! This book presented some interesting twists as its characters meandered through life's paths. It certainly explored the theme of motherhood in diversity and scope.

3 and 1 / 2 stars
This book is about revenge and its cost.
Brooke Hayes lost her mother at age seven. She was told that she had died and there was a memorial service held for her.
Brooke is a successful public relations representative for a major firm that represents celebrities. She has just become engaged to Trent. She worries because she lost her mother as a child and her fiancé some years later to a car accident. But she agrees to marry Trent, albeit reluctantly.
When her father is deathly ill, he keeps apologizing to her. He is still apologizing as he passes away. Brooke asks her grandmother why he was apologizing. Her grandmother reluctantly tells her because her mother didn’t die. She just left. This causes Brooke no end of pain and confusion.
She decides to track her down. No one in her family understands her obsession with her mother. Not her grandmother, although she gives her blessing to Brooke’s search. Not Trent, who doesn’t understand what’s driving her so hard to learn how her mother could have just left her. Not her friends who are confused.
She spends a considerable amount of money on a private detective and this upsets Trent even further. Could this be the end of Brooke and Trent’s relationship?
When she locates her mother Sarah in nearby Atlanta, she decides to go there and confront her. A lucky vacancy in the Atlanta branch of her firm offers her the chance to move there temporarily.
Then things go wrong.
This book is fairly well written and plotted. It is a little light for my taste. While it was a good read, it is not my usual genre and I was constantly frustrated with Brooke. For someone so wrapped up in her anger, she still came across as a bit of a wimp. She cried far too much. Even I wanted to say, “Oh, just get a life!”
I want to thank NetGalley and Gallery, Threshold,Pocket Books for forwarding to me a copy of this book to read.

As a long time fan of Reshonda Tate Billingsley books, I was immediately exciting when reading the synopsis of "Seeking Sarah". From the moment I received this ebook from NetGalley and started chapter one, I was immediately drawn into the main character Brooke story.
Without going into to much details, Seeking Sarah is about a young lady by the name of Brooke who grew up thinking that her mother was dead but due to sudden, unfortunate events, Brooke finds out 25 years later that her mother is actually alive.
Once Brooke finds out this truth, readers are then taken on Brooke's various paths of emotions from anger, sadness, abandonment and curiosity.
Readers are then introduced to Brooke"s plan of revenge on her mother "Sarah" that unfortunately leaves devastating consequences instead of satisfication.
I throughly enjoyed reading this book and found it extremely hard to put down. Although, readers may have a love and hate relationship with Brooke, I feel one would eventually understand why she acted the way she did and see Brooke eventually grow as an individual and own up to her mistakes.
One important point about this book was the valuable life lessons learnt. Whether it be about revenge or how important children crave for the love of their parents. Sometimes in life we get so obsessed craving something we always longed and within that obsession we get so consumed for that need we unfortunately lose ourselves in the process.
I highly recommend this book, readers will definitely be left at the edge of their seats.
Thank you Net Galley for this wonderful read.

I'm a fan of Billingsley, but this book seemed rushed. I would love to have had deeper character development.

"Seeking Sarah" by ReShonda Tate
My Thoughts...
I loved this story "Seeking Sarah" that was "about finding something you so desperately crave, and losing yourself in the process."
What a good read this story that was conveyed so well to the readers. I felt so very sorry for Brooke because I found that she really didn't know how to go about getting what she wanted and that was the love of her mom. Therefore Brooke went to much from secrets, loss, deception, lies, even revenge and heartbreak that caused so much more than one would ever want to happen. End the end will Brooke finally get all she wants ...the love of her mother and a husband? Or will she have to settle for ... well, I will stop here and just say you will have to pick up "Seeking Sarah" to see how this story will all come out. Be prepared for some twist and turns as the secrets come out and a ending that will leave one shaking their heads and saying wow! You will definitely be left seeing "how important a parent's love is and how it can not only shape a child's life but also their future."
Thank you to Net Gallery for the read.

What an explosive read about family, revenge, and forgiveness! I enjoyed this book and read it quickly. Seeking Sarah shows us all that often seeking revenge often can lead to other problems, and usually solves nothing. Brooke was a relatable character, and I felt her pain. Her mother, Sarah, although I also understood her, caused this hole in Brooke's life by disappearing the way she did. Although Brooke had a right to be upset, the way she went about it caused additional unnecessary pain, and also forced others to reveal their own truths. In the end, I didn't get a happy ending, but this book does provide us all lessons on forgiveness.

I received a copy from NetGalley for a honest review. ReShonda never disappoints when it comes to drama. a page turner with bumbs and twists,

Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.
This novel left me feeling twisted inside with anguish and distress. The story was often cruel and unnecessary and so filled with venom and naked revenge it made for an uncomfortable read.
Brooke Green’s mother had died when she was seven years old. At least, that’s what she’s been told all her life. So it comes as a devastating revelation after her father’s unexpected death that her mother is indeed still alive. Tracking her mother down to Atlanta causes problems between her fiancé and herself, but she is unable to let go of her desire to meet and confront her mother. Finding her mum living only six hours away from herself, Brooke concocts a reason to be transferred to Atlanta through her work and sets out to spy on and gather as much information through her mother’s new children and husband. A chance encounter between her mother and herself in which Brooke is not instantly recognised by her mother leads to her suddenly filled with rage and her desire for vengeance becomes palpable. Brooke does all she can to cause mischief and mayhem in her mother’s life. There is no limit to which she won’t sink to make her mother feel the grief and misery Brooke feels.
This is a painful story to read, watching a grown woman hell bent on revenge against another women who she does not even have courtesy to find out the reasons why she made the choice she did twenty five years ago. This level of fury and reprisal would be expected from a twelve year old, not a woman of 32. Brooke is childish and self-centred. She is filled with self-pity and really holds everyone around her as guilty for life. Brooke is not a likable character and even with her extenuating circumstances, it makes her just plain ugly. Her behaviour and actions caused incredible grief in more than one family.
ReShonda Tate Billingsley is a brilliant writer to be able to develop such physical reactions in a reader to emotional issues within a book. The pacing is fast and the plotline well crafted; it’s just a pity that the main character was so unlikeable.

I loved this book! I really enjoyed the dynamic between Brooke and her daddy too. I was heartbroken for her when he passes away. I loved the exploration that she goes on to find her mother. The drama that occurs after she finds her and "stalks" her world is both thought provoking, "What would I do?" , sad and hilarious all at the same time. I especially loved the twist at the end! A great summer read! Enjoy this at the beach!

[Disclaimer: I received a free e-copy of this book from NetGalley for review purposes.]
Knowing that this author has other published books and a somewhat vocal fan base, I had a hard time believing that this wasn't her first book. Brooke's voice didn't feel real. I couldn't picture any of the characters, because they were all "beautiful" but no real description was given. Everyone read very flat and even the violence wasn't intense, except for Alex's attack at the end. And the nightmarish way in which Brooke plays out the plot was so crazy I could not suspend my disbelief. It felt like she chalked up all her crazy to being pregnant, which, having been pregnant, I can't imagine ever behaving the way she did. Then again, I've never been in her shoes. Still, I couldn't believe the story. Either she was always batshit crazy and no one knew (or was really good at hiding it), or she was a perfectly sane person who snapped in a way that was completely unbelievable.
Also, what's with all the men in this book? Every single one, except Clint, was a total douchebag despite every woman drooling over them all. Trent was no catch, especially the way he reacted to Brooke's heartbreak and confusion. He was a piece of crap. Maybe they were made for each other, considering Brooke's own issues (although I think it was pretty obvious from the start that they wouldn't end up together). And I still can't believe Brooke managed to have a "relationship" with her mother considering everything she did to destroy her family.
