Emma was afraid of loving again after her heart was irreparably broken....or so she thought. With a business to run, a pooch to look after and friends to remind that she's still alive, Emma didn't think her heart was capable of love again..
...Until Max that is. Because I don't want to give anything away that's all I will say on the matter!
Who would have thought that a cosy chocolate shop set in Northumberland, would be the ideal setting for a feel good story, but it was!
I suppose you could say that I am 'unlucky in love', yet Emma and the gang made me see that, with the right person, all the puzzle pieces fit without question. Who knows, someday I may get my own Max.
Such a cosy, heart warming novel that put a smile on my face. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Loved this first book in the series of the cosy christmas shop! This is perfect for getting into the festive season. The story follows Emma who owns the chocolate shop, with the descriptions of the items she sells really does make you hungry and wish you had some to enjoy with the book. Anyway when she get news about the increase of rent, she isnt sure what to do about her dream as it seems like it is on the edge of being over. With her friends and support Emma becomes determined to put everythign she has into her chocolate shop to make this the best christmas she can. Perfect for chocolate lovers as long as you don't mind not having the chocolate in real form!

Much like other books in her Cosy series this book makes you enter the character's world and get drawn right along with all the trials and tribulations that come along with it. It's a lovely book that I recommend adding to your Christmas reading list!

If anything, this really just made me want to eat chocolate. This is a fun festive read (which I didn't even read at Christmastime because who is going to stop me) with a heartwarming romance to satisfy you. The cosy atmosphere was perfectly warming, no matter what time of year it is.

Thank you to netgalley and the publishers for letting me review this book.
This book was such a feel good book I loved the storyline absolutely loved the chocolate shop this book just flowed I enjoyed reading about the challenges Emma had to face and loved read about the homemade chocolate and enjoyed the romance.

I love Christmas and I love chocolate so this book was always going to be a winner.
I love Emma, her challenges and her story.
Thanks to Netgalley, Caroline Roberts and Harper Impulse for the opportunity to read and review this yummy book.

Yet another brilliant book by Caroline Roberts. What is there not to like, set in a chocolate shop with the Northumberland coast as your backdrop. I was instantly transported there and was hoping all would work out with Emma. An easy read with mixture of sadness and happiness. Highly recommend

Christmas is a time for everyone to indulge in everything and top of a lot of peoples' lists is chocolate. This book is a pure celebration of this tradition, a shop within a small village where chocolates are handmade and packaged to order, where villagers pop into the shop for their favourite chocolate of choice to enjoy after their evening meal or to give to loved ones as a present to say 'just thinking about you'. It is definitely not a book to read if the reader is on a diet or trying to cut down on chocolate before the festive period. Emma's handmade chocolates are described in great detail and the reader can almost smell the chocolates as she is making them. The publishers, Harper Impulse, and Caroline have very kindly shared with me a recipe for Emma's festive Chocolate Orange Truffles.

The worst part of this book for me was that I've just moved to the USA so all the talk of chocolate reminded me that I can no longer buy decent chocolate!! I had to break in to my last remaining Cadbury's bar to get myself through it. Other than that it was a delightful story! It started off a bit strange - I was thinking 'who just randomly kisses some stranger they've met on the beach'. Perhaps that's a normal thing to do that I've missed out on. I'm going to the beach later so I'll keep my eyes peeled for tall dark brooding snog-worthy men.
Any stories about owning/running a shop always interest me for some reason and this didn't disappoint. I loved the shop, hated the landlord and wanted everything to end with a happily ever after! Unfortunately I didn't get any Christmassy feels but then again I was reading a few months late for that! I'd love to read a sequel!

I enjoy reading Caroline's books. I loved reading about all the chocolates and how she turned it into a cafe too. I think the beginning bit with Max was a little weird and how he turns up a year later, thought the meet could have been written differently. I'm glad she found her happy ending. Overall I enjoyed the book and I look forward to her next one.

I loved this book - it really was cozy. Yes a really cozy read. I loved the settings, I loved it was taking place in a chocolate shop (I would have loved to work in there) and I really LOVED the romance that was going on in this book. It was the first book from Caroline Roberts that I was reading and I won't be the last one for sure! I really recommend this book! So well written!

Oh my word, this book should come with a warning - you'll want everything chocolatey! The descriptions in this book honestly made my mouth water, and I was craving chocolate like a toddler on a sugar rush!
As heart-warming as the hot chocolate she serves, Emma's tale had me captured from the beginning...and not just because of the cocoa goodness!
With interesting characters, a great plot and fantastic descriptions of the gorgeous seaside village Emma has made her home, I absolutely adored reading this novel. A highly entertaining read, this one is not just for Christmas, but rather a cosy comforting read you can curl up with...with the obligatory cup of tea and some chocolate of course!
**** stars from me!
I received a free copy of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

I really loved this book! Excellent story with brilliant main characters. I would recommend this book.

Emma and her assistant Holly run the chocolate shop by the sea,
hugely successful at the time of joining them in this book on the Eve on Christmas, of course business is booming.
Yet as the new year gets underway, a hike in the price charged by their landlord for their little shop they love so dearly could mean it faces troubled times...
Emma is used to being alone with just Alfie her dog for company along with her lively and bubbly friends around her when they can get together away from working away. She represents a strong character as she hints throughout the novel to events which have happened previously surrounding Luke and their life together they had before them.
This is a humorous yet serious read but also very delectable too! The chocolate shop sounded like a dream or a real true hidden gem to try and find when you're out and about in real life as nowadays many old style retro sweet shops exist anymore as well as the sweets sounding as good as they'd taste. You fall in love with the main characters easily and instantly hate a certain 'Mr. Eel' who is a character I'm sure we could all relate a face we know to!
Many thanks to the publishers for allowing me to review this book for them!

What a lovely book this was especially with the weather the way it is just now. It did make me crave for some lovely chocolates though!!!
Emma owns a chocolate shop in a quaint little village by the sea in Northumberland. She moved there several years ago and loves the town and its inhabitants. She is never going to become rich from the shop and with rising costs wonders how she will make ends meet. Throw in romance and a lovely dog and you have the makings of a great book.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC of the book in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.

Easy yet predictable story. Ideal for a cold Sunday afternoon.

Review: I adore Caroline Robert's books.
The Cosy Tea Shop series by Caroline Roberts.
The Summer of Magic Moments by Caroline Roberts
This new one by her was no exception. I imagine that Caroline had a great time researching this book. Emma owns a Chocolate shop and we follow her journey to try to expand the shop and make a profit trying to overcome the problems that come with running a shop. Alongside this there is a lovely romantic element.
It is beautiful written and makes you feel all cosy inside. The setting is lovely and you feel like you are right there as the story unfolds.
If you love a Christmas romance and a strong heroine then this is a book for you.
Caroline Roberts is one of my top favourite authors and I cannot wait for her next book.

A beautiful and perfect read through the Christmas period and my craving for chocolate really lifted! Such a warm and cosy story that sometimes pulled at your heart strings. Emma has made a new home for herself after losing her fiance, however one Boxing Day morning, Emma meets the man of her dreams and tricks herself in to believing that she doesn't need love; she's happy alone. With her shop on the rocks, Emma has more to think about than romance and lust, however, when this mysterious man begins to show up at every corner of her life, even helping to keep the shop alive, Emma can't help but fall in love. Will she finally move on and allow herself to love? Well if she won't have him then I sure will!

What a tasty, mouthwatering treat this story proved to be! Although the title indicates it to be a festive read, the action occurs over more than a year, so I suspect it will prove to be a delicious read, whatever the season. Who doesn’t love some hand-crafted chocolate, an adorable spaniel, a hard working chocolatier and a handy, handsome builder who specialises in coming to her rescue?
Journey to the North East of England, to the seaside town where Emma has retreated following the tragic death of her fiancé. There she’s followed her dream of opening her own Chocolate shop and all seems to be going well - until her landlord instigates an extortionate rent hike! With support from her shop assistant, Holly, and her best friend, Bev, as well as family and some unexpected friends innovation and hard work are the key to her keeping her shop open. There’s also a few romances in waiting - but only if Emma can learn to give love a chance after her heartbreaking past and you need to read it yourself to discover any others!
The tagline for this story is “The perfect, feel good romantic comedy to curl up with this Christmas!” and I have to agree - though I think it works brilliantly whatever the season. It is a lovely change to have the story set away from the South West of England and the author brings this Northumberland setting vividly to life in the story. It has plenty of drama, laugh out loud incidents and fun, great characters and a lively plot. I have no hesitation in highly recommending it to anyone who enjoys reading romances, especially ones in which the local community characters all have their role to play.
I requested and received a copy of this novel, via NetGalley. This is my honest review after choosing to read it.

This book had a bit of everything, chocolate, romance, Christmas, friendships and a lovely setting.
Emma has moved to a seaside village following a tragedy in her previous relationship and opened up a chocolate shop, living in the flat above with her beloved dog Alfie. While walking him on the beach one day she bumps into a handsome man who she can’t stop thinking about, however with a high rent increase Emma has other things to worry about.
Can she keep her precious business and open her heart to the possibility of a new romance?
I loved reading about all the different chocolates and could imagine being in the shop on a Winters evening during the run up to Christmas with the fairy lights twinkling with the smell of chocolate and the flavours of the fillings going inside them.
This really is a feel-good festive read which I devoured and enjoyed even more than a box of chocolates!
