The synopsis of this book is as follows: "Pilot Miranda Marlowe is too sick to fly her plane, and she must face the truth: she's pregnant! She knows well enough that her boss, Cleve Finch, is still grieving for his late wife, so to think, she heads to her sister's new inheritance, Villa Rosa.
Despite the spiders and dust, the Mediterranean palazzo is as gorgeous as ever. Until Cleve turns up with a dramatic offer: a convenient marriage as soon as it can be arranged! It may be the sensible answer…but is it enough for Miranda?" The synopsis immediately made me want to read this book, and thanks to Mills and Boon and Netgalley, I was allowed to do this free for an honest review. Now, right up until I reached the epilogue I was thoroughly enjoying reading this book and I was going to give it five stars ... However, when I reached the epilogue it is full of printing errors and missed words. I therefore only awarded it three stars for that reason. It is a shame because the story is a lovely Mills and Boon romance with no sex scenes to dominate. The story is the first in a series of four based on the main setting for this book - the Villa Rosa, and despite the printing flaws in this book (which I'm sure M&B will sort out in short order) I will read the next three books in the series.
A second chance at first love, and angsty in all the best possible ways.
A few extra details to the normal route this story would usually follow. Bit of angst and unknown history.
Well written.
This is the first book I have read by this author and I really enjoyed it. The characters Andie (Miranda) and Cleve were likeable and believable. Fate may have conspired to keep them apart, but Villa Rosa the rundown Mediterranean palazzo is a wonderful romantic setting for their love story to unfold. A perfect feel good love story to enjoy by the pool. I look forward to more from Villa Rosa.
I felt this was a classic style M&B novel and I really enjoyed reading it. The hero and hero were believable and their feelings were also credible when deali with the differing situations at they face through the story. The reasons given as to why they had not previously got together permanently were also understandable and felt natural, not forced for the sake of the plot. I did not realise that this will be the first of a quartet but now I know I really want to read the other three books!
HER PREGNANCY BOMBSHELL by Liz Fielding is the beginning of a new series centred around Villa Rosa, and I cannot wait for the next instalment.
Miranda Marlowe is a pilot who soon discovers that she is about to become a mother. Needing time and space to figure out what she wants from her future, she heads to Villa Rosa, which is so beautiful even if it does need some TLC.
When her boss Cleve shows up and offers her a marriage of convenience, it would seem that a lot of her problems could be solved by simply saying yes. Except for one huge issue - Miranda loves Cleve and knows that love will never be possible with him, as he is still desperately grieving his wife.
With lovely scenery, interesting characters, and plenty of hiccups along the way, HER PREGNANCY BOMBSHELL by Liz Fielding is a truly delightful, relaxing read. Relatively short, this novel is perfect for an afternoon in the garden or relaxing by the pool, or in my case curling up in bed on a cosy Friday night. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and I look forward to more from Villa Rosa.
This story is light, easy going and has a lovely warmth to it that will have you smiling at both the story and the characters. I felt so sorry for Miranda as she ended up having to get away from things for a while. Basically just to take a breath and decide on her future. Although then Cleve turns up and throws that plan into disarray.
I really enjoyed the parts regarding Villa Rosa and finding out about who lived there and how unfortunately at the moment it was in need of some major TLC. I hope that this is continued in the next book as it would be a great addition to the next story.
Her Pregnancy Bombshell is a fairly short read so perfect for a lazy afternoon or a quick read whilst on holiday. It is at times sweet and I really hoped that there would be a happy ending for Miranda and Cleve. Is that possible though with the past still affecting Cleve?
It is the start of a new series so it would be lovely to carry on and read the next book in the Summer at Villa Rosa series.
Light hearted with a sweet story!
With thanks to Mills and Boon & Netgalley. This is my honest and unbiased opinion.
Unfortunately the book was not for me, no review was publicly posted on Amazon, B&N, Goodreads or Twitter etc, so no ratings were affected in relation to it.
