This book had a lot of potential but i just couldn't like it. It was a good beginning and I liked the characters rather well at the beginning but as it went on I felt like the story was being dragged out to make it meet some kind of limit of pages. There were good themes going on in some of the book but I didn't care for the the crude language and insinuations in others. Especially as this one was touted as a "Christian " book. The conclusion was good but it took FOREVER to get to it and I had already figured it out by time I had read half of the book. If the author would have written this book in a more concise manner I think I would have enjoyed it more, but I highly doubt I will read any others written by Jackie Smith. I will not be recommending this book either for the reasons listed above, which makes me sad as I would love to help a newer author gain a good standing in the literary world. But my conscience won't allow it. Please try again Ms. Smith and perhaps you story will be better next time.
This is a good sweet Christian Fiction Romance book about believing the unbelievable and taking a chance on love. Martin Richards and Christina Warner meet and have a surprisingly love for farming-- Is this a match made in Heaven? Are they soulmates? Is an angel playing matchmaker? And what happens to Jenny the abandoned 4 year old?
My grade for this book is an A plus.
Old Fashioned Girl is an immensely abundantly enjoyable book to read. I cannot say enough or express myself how much I love this book. I love Supernatural writings because I truly believe that we do live with Angels/demons in this world. This story has a child as well who touches the heart and who cannot afford to have their heart touched - this author makes you feel like you are vested into the characters and that shows how well the writing is - you keep the book with you wherever you go. There is a romance - but isn't there always -this one is a little different - let me tell you how ........................................nah you have to find out for yourself.

I am reviewing a copy of Old Fashioned Girl through the Black Rose Writing and Netgalley:
His name is Martin, he is a handsome, young building contractor. She likes to read the classics and is beautiful. She likes writing and receiving old Fashioned letters written on stationary. Her name is Elizabeth. She doesn't own a phone.
Soon a four year old girl named Jenny comes into the picture. A young girl whose Mother ran into a situation and asks them to watch her until she can come back.
I give Old Fashioned Girl five out of five stars!
Happy Reading!
This is such an amazing story. Seeing God's hand in the lives of people joining the dots. Encouraging to see how God leads & guides people. A reminder to acknowledge God in all that we're doing
