Sizzling hot, romantically sexy.
Wow.. This is an author to look out for.
Such a good read.
I fell in love with Jesse Ward along with hundreds of other romance readers. For me it turned into an epic series and so when I discovered a character from that series was going to have their very own novella, I waited with eager anticipation until I could dive back into the THIS MAN world.
It's a while since I read the series and hand on heart Drew's character is not one that I distinctly remember which perfectly illustrates that this sexy novella can be read as a standalone. The fact that Jesse Ward, the male protagonist from the first three books, is imprinted on my brain beautifully enhanced my reading experience and I delighted in each and every appearance by this much-loved hero and the part he played in Drew's story.
The narrative captured my attention with the sheer charisma of Drew. What he wants is clearly established and Raya Rivers, the female at the heart of this story, seems to be the perfect match for his I-don't-need-a-relationship attitude until he starts to see a different side to this woman and then he wonders if she'll accept everything about him and his life.
I often enjoy the predictability that romance novels offer me, that safe feeling of knowing that all will end well and the satisfying feeling of being able to work out what may or may not happen. Ultimately, I feel Drew's story became a little too predictable in the middle without having the intense push and pull of emotion that I anticipated from his story, his character development was also a little too rapid for me. I felt like Drew changed his outlook too quickly, hence the predictable nature felt like it had sped up. In reality, maybe the novella length did not have the capacity for what I desired from this story.
Despite my comments above, that are purely subjective, ALL I AM provided me with a light, sexy and entertaining read with an element I absolutely loved, perhaps the element I was also most looking forward to, which was revisiting Jesse Ward and his family. He still lights up the page with his charisma, personality and beautifully developed persona so that element alone makes this story an absolute must read for fans of the series.
A new novella featuring Drew from the This Man trilogy
You don't need to read the series to enjoy this story, but if you're already a Jesse Ward fan, just wait till you see the advice he gives Drew about falling in love.
I thought I had control. I was so, so wrong...
I don't need a relationship. I have Hux, a decadent club where I quench whatever raw desire I choose. I take pleasure and I give it - no strings attached. So when Raya Rivers comes in asking for someone cold, emotionless, and filthy... well, no man ever takes his wicked pleasure quite the way I do.
Only Raya is different. Vulnerable. And carrying some deep sorrow that gets past all my carefully constructed walls and inexplicably makes me care. Now craving controls me. Ice has given way to red-hot need.
But Raya has no idea about my other life - my real life. That I'm daddy to an adorable little girl. My two worlds are about to collide with the force of a supernova. Once Raya knows the truth, will she be able to accept all I am?
Oh, What a delightful little gem of a novella this was, I enjoyed All I Am: Drew's Story so much.
This lovely little tale by Jodi Ellen Malpas was a pleasure to indulge in.
I haven't read the rest of the series this is attached to but this really didn't matter at all.
So this is about thirty-nine-year-old Drew and Reya who is much younger and the relationship that develops between these two after connecting through HUX.
A Decadent club which caters to no strings attached connections that Drew thinks he wants.
Reya is looking to forgot and having the same ultimate goals as Drew a union with no attachments the pair hook up.
Oh, how good intentions fade when reality steps in and give's fate a little push.
So loved Drew he was quite a gooey marshmallow when push came to shove.
His daughter was so adorable, what an absolute cutie.
loved Drews wide-eyed confusion and panic when he realises he's falling fast, it was too cute.
Oh, how the mighty fall.
His friends were so amusing with their teasing and I'm so going to have to read their stories, I can't believe I haven't yet.
Reya we know less about as this is written from Drew's perspective, but from what we see she is someone who because she has loved and lost now wants to bask in the anonymity of cold and unfeeling hook-ups and switch off her emotions.
So as you can tell I really enjoyed this and though it may not be a long read, it manages still to convey a strong emotional connection between Drew and Reya which in my opinion is so much harder in a shorter story.
This has unity in spades and then some.
love it lots like jelly tots
So give this a try if you're wanting something hot to hit the spot.
It definitely hit my hot-spot.
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for providing me with an advanced reader copy off All I Am: Drew's Story by Jodi Ellen Malpas this is my own personal opinion.
What can I say to this scrumptious read? Jodi has once again thrown me into the glorious world and endless seduction of the This Man series and what a heart drenching euphoria of a ride it was.
I loved every word, every paragraph and every intricate detail of Drew's world. I just wished there was more to read. Yes I'm going to say it; I just never wanted it to end.
The storyline was utter perfection; this author can weave her magic when she seduces and renders her readers speechless. I adored everything about this book and cannot think of anything negative to say. The chemistry between the hero and the heroine was crafted brilliantly and that keeps the readers gasping for more.
If you loved the This Man series well you will definitely love this book too. Outstanding effort and I certainly know why this author is fast growing into a favourite of mine.
This book didn't strike me in the same way as This Man, and perhaps it is because I was expecting the same impact that I didn't enjoy it as much.
Drew is determined not to love, or be loved. he is emotionless and he looks to women for one thing and one thing only.
It is this determination of his, the refusal to 'feel', that stops him from seeing what is in front of him, that has him ignoring all the signs.
There is the classic 'thwarted woman throws a spanner in the works' scene, miscommunication, etc.
The only thing I didn't like was the way he went to the club looking for relief and then felt aggrieved when he found out Raya was there for the same thing.
Double standards reign supreme.
An enjoyable little read, but I shan't be picking it up again.
Sorry, Drew. You just didn't rock my boat.
LOVED IT!!!!
It was totally hot!!
Drew is so bloody hot. Still love Jesse Ward but Drew DAYUMMMMM.
It was such a great read. Was funny, hot and sweet.
I loved that the characters from This Man were in the book too xx
I have to say that this book surprised me more than I expected. I only have a few small issues with the story but those are more personal preferences rather than a plot hole.
I think for those who have yet to read this book, you'd be pleasantly surprised. It's worth the read for sure! I only have a few small issues with the story but those are more personal preferences rather than a plot hole.
Still an enjoyable read though and I definitely think you all should read it and experience it for yourself

What I Liked:
This was a good length for a novella and it was well written, interestingly, from the male pov only. Drew was likeable, the story flowed nicely and it was hot.
What I Didn't Like:
I couldn't connect with Raya and the romance was a bit too close to instalove (and not the good kind if there is such a thing) for my liking. There was a bit too much drama for a novella and a crazy unbelievable chase at the end which caused a fair amount of eye rolling even though I laughed a lot (in a good way!).
Other Thoughts:
I've heard of the This Man series but I've never read it. This novella can definitely be read as a standalone but I now have some cracking spoilers if I ever do decide to read the trilogy... Therefore I'd advise that if you have the This Man novels on your TBR, and spoilers bother you, that you pass on this until after you've read them.
If you have read the first three books then I'm guessing you'll love this as you get a good 'catch up' with Jesse, Sam and their women plus a nice HEA for Drew.
Well what can I say except Jodi Ellen malpas has done it again totally loved this book and couldn't put it down left me wanting to te read the this man trilogy again
4.5 "You ready to get completely lost...?" Stars!
Jodi Ellen Malpas returns to the This Man universe, to give us Drew Davies’ story, one of Jesse Ward’s friends in the original three books, it was good to catch up with this group of characters again.
IMAGE.
Nothing massively new or unusual about the plot to be honest with you, two people looking for uncomplicated sex, come together for some commitment-free sexy-times at Hux club, but after that initial meeting both of them realize that they have more of a connection than just in bed.
I can do cold, emotionless, and filthy. With little effort. Actually with no effort…
Although Drew being a Daddy, gave it an added emotional element, and I really liked Reya's strength of character. And the added man-chat when Jesse and Sam were involved in things added to the overall entertainment factor.
"What are you scared of, Drew..?"
"You."
Saying to much more would pretty much give the whole novella away, so I will leave it at that. The author delivered a well written story, it was absolutely fantastic to catch up with Jesse, Ava and the rest of the Manor crew, if like me you loved the original series, you will love this little return, I certainly did.

Omg, I was so excited to read this book. It was fantastic to have a look into Drew's life. I was happy that other characters played little parts in this book. This is one of my favourite authors, I especially love the "This man" series and this is a fab addition to it. This author has the ability to bring you an amazing short story, bringing the characters to life. This novella is amazingly written, the story flows well and will keep you reading till the end. I can't wait to read more from this author in the future.
Highly recommended
I voluntarily reviewed and advance reader copy of this book
Jodi Ellen Malpas has done it again! This brilliant little novella is a great addition and reminder of where her journey into writing first started with the (This Man series) and the unforgettable "Lord of the Manor" Jesse Ward. This is Drew's story. He was always an intriguing side character and friend to Jesse in the previous books and here we get to see him in his own right as the male lead in All I Am.
I couldn't wait to get my hands on a copy of this book and once I started to read the story I just had to keep going until I'd finished it in the early hours of the morning, it is a very addictive read so you have been warned!
I'm pretty sure that if you haven't read the other previous books in this series that you could still read this book and enjoy the story but for those of you that have, you will be in on the inside of the jokes and banter that goes on between the three friends of Drew, Jesse and Sam and you won't be able to stop smiling.
The story was panty meltingly hot to say the least, and I was absolutely desperate to see where the sizzling attraction between Drew and Raya would go after their first encounter. They have such an amazing physical connection going on between them that you just can't help feeling a tiny little bit jealous of Raya's character for being "the one" for Drew, he is the ultimate older man that knows how to satisfy and fulfil all of the needs that she has and boy does he do it and so much more...
This is sure to be a big hit with all Jodi Ellen Malpas fans old and new as not only do we get Drew's story we also get an update into the lives of Jesse and Ava and Sam and kate. In fact as usual Jesse tries to trample everyone in his way and almost stole the starring role from Drew but you just can't help yourself from loving him even more for it as I'd expect nothing less of Jesse Ward!
Jodi is a brilliant writer that always takes you on a heart stopping journey with her characters. She knows how to put just the right amount of emotion and depth into her stories without making them feel unbelievable. If you can't already tell that I loved this story then I must tell you that this book is totally amazing!!!!
5 Fantastic Stars!
Unfortunately this book just wasn't for me. As much as I love JEM and the characters creates I just felt Drews's story was lacking in ways and found it hard to keep reading.

The This Man trilogy is probably one of our all-time favourites. Therefore, you can imagine how excited we were to hear Ms Malpas was going to release a spin-off of the series and even better, we’d have the opportunity of meeting up with Jesse again. Of course, this little gem of a read wouldn’t be the same without Drew Davies' other die-hard friend, Sam, who’s as willing as Jesse to give their pal some advice about hmm… his nocturnal preferences. We honestly felt as if we were eavesdropping on their conversation which we have to say had us grinning from ear to ear. If we didn’t know the author was female, we’d think she was a fella because she certainly writes like one, thinks like one and blinkin’ heck; her leading man's character was spot on! In fact, one of the most common pitfalls when narrating a story in first-person present tense is the reader's given too much minutiae of everyday life. This never happened. Drew's inner-thoughts are told in some very clipped sentences which we found all male. No matter how mundane his actions, we were mesmerised by them. Even when he's a tad confused about his feelings, he tries to reason with himself and tries to get straight to the point without much ado.
“I hardly know anything about you.”
“Like I said, this isn’t a date. All you need to know is that I have a cock and I have ability, and with them I can blow your mind.”
One thing is for sure, even though Drew’s knocking on a bit; we wouldn’t dream of telling him that because he’d be more than offended, he still has no wish to change his lifestyle. Drew learnt the hard way when life threw him a curve-ball of such magnitude that the last thing on his mind is settling down. His mates have, his happy for them but it’s not even on his overflowing agenda. Actually, there is someone very special he’d do absolutely anything for, but isn't the person who will bring him to his knees.
“You're attracted to me.”
“Although you're a little older than I expected.”
“Ouch.”
From the very beginning of his story, he’d made it very clear to us what he wanted, so we weren’t quite sure how he’d react to what was about to happen. You see, the author had other ideas for this drop-dead gorgeous alpha by not only spicing things up in the bedroom, but also complicating his very existence. The way Drew coped with his feelings was incredibly realistic and not surprisingly, he tried to fight against them. After what he’d been through, it was easy for us to understand why he’d always steered clear of emotional entanglements. No lovey-dovey, no strings, no drama. Just hot kinky sex!
“... I’m mad to question my decision.”
“Why?”
“Because if you don’t have anyone, you can’t lose anyone.”
Up until now, both of us had been enthralled with what we’d read; however, when Raya walked into the scenario is when it got really interesting. What she wants from him tickles his fancy, fits perfectly into his no romantic ties beliefs, but does open up his curiosity. You know what they say about curiosity, well. . . say no more!
“I’m a man touching forty and for the first time in my life, I’m in tatters over a woman. You, Raya.”
We are suckers for age gaps! Although Raya is quite a bit younger than Drew, we found her mature enough to connect with him on a deeper level. Nonetheless, it was a level she didn’t want for reasons to be revealed and would cause them both distress. Yet her sadness is a mystery, its routes he has to discover regardless of everything he’d shunned in the past. If a carrot had been dangled in front of his nose, he wouldn’t have been able to stop himself!
“Sweet? I’ve been described as many things, but sweet isn’t one …”
Ms Malpas’ descriptive writing is as such that she left us captivated and we can’t not mention the witty and hilarious interactions between Drew, Sam, Jesse and the adorable character we can’t mention. It has us in fits and tucks! We love banter in our reads and as usual this author did not disappoint. It was great to see such a fun side to Drew because in previous books he came over somewhat surly. He'd always stood in the background and both of us felt a little cheated we didn’t get to know him a little better. This book not only gave us Drew, but also gave us a glimpse into the lives of Jesse, Ava, Sam and Kate and for that Ms Malpas, we would like to say thank you. Bravo!

I have given it 5 "All I Am" stars.
First of all I can't tell you how great it is to be diving back into the "This Man" world and although this story is all about Drew, we catch glimpses of other much loved characters and how they have fared over the years but alas this is Drew's story and what a story it is!
All I Am is written in true Jodie style! It was intense, hot, erotic and oh so passionate. I couldn't put it down. She truly has a magical way with words that suck you in to their pages and I was more than happy to be sucked back into the world of one of my favourite series.
Drew is the one character from "This Man" who remained a mystery but in All I Am, Drew shines bright, taking the reader on a roller coaster ride as his "no relationship rule" is tested by the equally mysterious Raya.
The chemistry between the two is so hot, that I swear I could almost feel the heat radiating from my kindle. They were smokin'.
If you enjoyed Jesse, you will definitely love Drew in this short and steamy novella.
