This is the first book I have read from Sun Chara, and I must say I enjoyed it! It is a real quick and easy to read novel.
I thought the character Stella was really good, she really strikes up a cute bond with Stan's son and I thought it was really sweet.
Stan is a man who thinks he can get what he want though I think when his son was around we seen a softer sweet side of him but I hated his dirty tricks and they things he did to get what he wanted.
Stella and Stan's relationship was very intense and they clearly have chemistry. She knows he is trouble but she is drawn to him.
I really liked this novel the story it was unpredictable, I didn't know what way it would end.
This book is perfect for the upcoming romantic Valentines day!

I have very mixed feelings about this book. The characters were intriguing and little Troy was adorable. Whilst I understood Stan perfectly, he’s the typical rich man with an ‘if I can’t get what I want I’ll take it’, attitude. He always puts himself, and troy, before everyone else. Stella was a different story.
I couldn’t get my head around Stella being this tough martial arts teacher, a sensei, and her letting this man walk all over her. Even at the beginning when she is bundled into the fish net, wouldn’t a martial arts expert be able to defend herself from two men? Plus, she makes snap decisions without thinking about them first.
That being said, the story, although not realistic, is actually quite interesting and I read it within a couple of days. I did have some confusion near the beginning as there is a chapter that is a flashback. When I first read it, I wasn’t sure whether the chapters had been muddled up as there was no warning that this chapter was a flashback. I had to re-read the first three chapters twice to understand them properly. After that, the book flowed naturally and you got a sense of every emotion the characters were feeling. It was nice to see the character evolve as the story progressed.
If your looking for something romantic that is a bit different, something short to loose yourself in, then this book is worth a read.

4☆ A Charming and Endearing Read
Recluse Millionaire, Reluctant Bride is the first book I have read by Sun Chara.
This is part of Global Millionaire series and can be read as a standalone.
However i am not so sure it can be comfortable read as a standalone.
There is a brief backstory of the main characters but I felt it was too brief and left me a little bewildered.
This stopped me engaging with the characters till about half way through when the characters really developed and I related to them.
Stan Rogers and Stella Ryan are brief business acquaintances.
However Stan needs to call on Stella for a Favour.... a huge favour and the only way he knows how to get what he wants is to play dirty!
He manipulates Stella at every opportunity.
You see Stan is a man who is used to getting what he wants.
Stella is a beautiful and sexy young lady.
He wants Stella but can he keep his hands off her long enough to persuade her to Marry Him?
After all it is a marriage of convenience and not love.... or is it?
Stella dotes on Stan's Son Troy. He becomes her whole world. But will she risk breaking Troy's heart as well as her own!
Only time will tell.
For me one minute I loathed Stan, the next I felt compassion for him. There is no greater love than the love of a parent protecting their child. His love for Troy swelled my heart.
I just didn't like his manipulation, deviance, underhanded ways in order to get Stella to agree
In the mean time poor Stella had her heart broken, she gave her heart to Stan and he trod on it.
Stella came across as a strong, kick ass Sensei but she was vulnerable and shy and very endearing with a huge heart.
There was so many times I was willing her to say NO!! And stand up for herself.
But the heart wants what the heart wants!
Troy for me was a little star, he was cheeky, yet he was clearly a hurt little boy with a heart full of Love. When He was with Stella he lit up. He craves a mother figure.
Recluse Millionaire, Reluctant Bride is a story of family, heartbreak, Protecting family, finding love, manipulation, passion, love and relationships.
I enjoyed reading Recluse Millionaire, Reluctant Bride I just wish a little more backstory was introduced so I could of enjoyed the charismatic characters sooner. The ending seemed to be a little rushed, I would of loved more I can't say without giving anything away... I just didn't want it to stop there!
A very short novel, that packs alot in.
A beautifully poignant read that at times really tugged on my heart strings.
The right amount of chemistry and passion.
A joy to read if you enjoy Contemporary Romance.

If escapist contemporary romance is your thing, you are simply going to love Sun Chara’s latest page-turner Recluse Millionaire, Reluctant Bride!
Stan Rogers is a millionaire who likes to keep himself to himself. Closing a deal has always been something which he has excelled at, but his latest venture could lose him all that he holds dear to his heart. Stan will do whatever it takes to win custody of his son – even negotiating with Stella Ryan, the exotic beauty from his past who holds the key to securing the one thing he wants more than anything else in the world which money simply cannot buy. Stan knows that getting Stella to agree to his proposition is not going to be easy – especially as she despises him with every fibre of her being and regards him as her arch nemesis!
Stella is well aware that she should give Stan Rogers as wide a berth as possible. Stan had shattered her heart into a million tiny pieces and he still has the power to destroy her. Stella is absolutely floored when Stan proposes marriage and she knows that she should listen to her head and run for the hills – it’s just a shame that her heart is telling her something completely and utterly different! Stella knows that she must not trust Stan and that she should definitely resist him – but that proves to be easier said than done!
When their marriage of convenience gives way to something deeper, will Stella and Stan find the courage to face up to their feelings for one another? Or will they continue to let the past get in the way of their future?
A zesty-paced romantic treat that sparkles with terrific characters, nail-biting emotional drama and uplifting romance, Recluse Millionaire, Reluctant Bride is a delightful and entertaining tale that will brighten up even the dullest and most dismal January day. Sun Chara writes romance that will make you laugh and cry and Recluse Millionaire, Reluctant Bride is the perfect book to lose yourself into when you just want to spoil yourself, so switch off the phone, put your feet up and indulge in some first-rate romantic fiction – you will certainly not regret it!

This is one of those guilty pleasure kind of books, one that you don’t have to think too hard about, you know what to expect going in, a couple hours of easy entertainment.
Although fairly predictable in storyline there is enough chemistry between Stan and Stella to keep it interesting. I’ll be honest and say that I almost gave up with this book but there does come a point where it started to get a little bit addictive, which I think can be attributed to the pace of the story. It is a short book but it was so fast paced, after a certain point, that I finished it a lot quicker than I had imagined I would.
The issue I had with this book at the start was the writing style, there is a flashback scene that had no real delineation, so it took a while to figure out when it ended and confused what was going on. At points, the writing was quite clunky and rushed and there were a few occasions that I felt like the characters voices felt muddled, one would suddenly use phrases that another character had been using, it sometimes made it hard to keep track of who was speaking.
Another gripe, of course, is the insta-love, I am not a fan but I had gone in kind of expecting it so it didn’t frustrate me quite as much as it could have.
Whilst this book wasn’t my kind of book it was still entertaining and I’m sure that if you like a romance book with an Alpha male then you’ll enjoy this.

I really enjoyed this book and will be wanting to read more from this author in the future

I am running a spotlight for this title on the blog tour but am not reviewing it.

In his life Stan is used to women with ulterior motives. He believes everyone has a price. He doesn’t believe in love but will do anything to protect his son. Stella is the quintessential feisty heroine. She’s worked hard to make a success out of her dojo and won’t let anyone destroy her dreams. First impressions do count as Stella still hasn’t forgotten the sexy but unforgiving businessman she signed a deal with years before. Stan remembers a fiery minx whose beauty piqued his interest and whose grit won him over. When Stan needs help with his son Troy, he remembers Stella and sets out to obtain her help, whatever the cost to him or her.
“She was east and west… light and dark… fire and ice. The contrast was striking. Rare. An exotic beauty-a dangerous beauty.”
The character of Stella is well-drawn and easily likeable. She’s a bit of sunshine to Stan’s clouds. Her successful athletic career and dojo are the results of diligence and determination. While she has never considered herself the marrying type, she quickly forges a strong bond with Stan’s son, Troy. Troy’s hero worship for his new sensei is the cutest. Conversations between these two are sweet and it is through their relationship that Stella’s strength and resolve are shown. Stella’s longing to hold on to her dreams and her soft heart for Troy lead her to enter a deal with the devil, Stan Rogers.
“He looked as rugged as the Canadian mountains… His laser-sharp eyes reminded her of an ocean storm… dark, turbulent.”
Stan was less likeable. He’s drawn as a hard man weathered by his life’s experiences. To be honest, other than his good looks, I wasn’t quite sure what Stella saw in him originally. His softer side is only revealed through interactions with his son. Throughout the conflict with Stella, every time I was about to feel sorry for him, he did something ruthless.
The pacing of this story is fast. Super fast. Action moves the story forward and there’s no way for the reader to become bored. In fact, I wish it was a little slower in some places to get a better feel for how the characters were coping and developing.
The tension between Stella and Stan is well-written. I could almost feel it rolling off the pages. These two paint themselves into difficult situation and must find the will to fight their way out, together. They both have expectations of the other and refuse to see what’s actually happening in front of them.
A couple things were rushed, one being Stella’s falling in love. I also found the lovers’ conflict resolution was a bit rushed. The story is told mainly from Stella’s perspective, although at times from Stan’s. We get to see how Stella comes to terms with her feelings and how she resolves them. Stan, however, does not afford the reader that glimpse into his psyche. He goes from mistrusting to in love with no substantial turning point moment.
Overall, the fast pace, sweet heroine and entertaining story made this a quick and fun read for me.
Disclaimer: I received a free copy of this book from NetGalley and HarperCollins UK, HarperImpulse. This did not affect my opinion in any way.

Recluse Millionaire, Reluctant Bride is the first book that I have read by Sun Chara so I was intrigued as to how I would find the story. It's definitely a light and easy going read and before I knew it I was half way through. Making it a perfect length to easily read in just one evening. With a story that strikes a lovely balance of romance, sizzling chemistry along with a sweet edge that I enjoyed.
The characters are feisty especially Stella and I liked how she attempted to stand up for herself with Stan. The fiery interactions made for entertaining reading and they shared a passionate chemistry that was difficult to contain.
I liked the addition of Stan's son to the story as it gives a sweeter, gentler side that contrasts well with the clashes between Stan and Stella.
Passionate and fun!
Four stars!
With thanks to Rachel at Rachel's Random Resources for the invite to join the tour and my copy. This is my honest and unbiased opinion.

The beauty of Sun Chara's books is the happiness that you breath reading them and the enthusiasm they spread, because there is a constant vein of optimism.
Love,a mix of attraction, sex, friendship and complicity will win against all adversities.
These stories are very good, positive sexy, mostly dreaming and in grade to capture the attention of romantic readers for a moment of relax.
Sun Chara's latest book released today Recluse Millionaire, Reluctant Bride tells the story of a fascinating millionaire, a recluse millionaire, Stan Rogers, who is forced to meeting again her old sexy and exotic love Stella Ryan because of a legal problem: the custody of his son.
Of course between them there is still electricity, and they are who knows? maybe still in love. Sure Stella remembers her past with him, but she also knows her feelings for this man.
What will happen between them during the following days? I can't tell you all the story, but this book won't present any sad and unhappy end be sure of it! So if you want to read a sexy, romantic novel, this book is for you.
I can tell you I am affectionate to Sun because one of my first authors interviewed years ago.
She is a Harper Impulse writer and the book launched her career as a writer was Manhattan Millionaire's Cinderella.
She also appeared on stage and movies in How the Other Half Loves, General Hospital, and McGee and Me.
Wishing happy reading to everyone! I thank NetGalley and Harper-Impulse for this eBook.

3.5 stars. It's hard to rate books by this author. The language is high intensity, almost over the top and it pulls you through the story at a great rate. The story itself isn't so unusual. Standard category fare with a seemingly hard-hearted billionaire doing the blackmail thing and a feisty heroine.
I always struggle a little with feisty heroines. Stella has good reason to be feisty. She is a karate champion, running her own Dojo in Vancouver, financed by the hero, Stan Rogers, four years ago in a memorable confrontation.
For someone who is a sensei, she is rather impulsive, makes snap decisions based on only half the information and judgements on even less. But this is a romance novel. There would be no story if everyone communicated right from the start.
Stan wants Stella. We'll leave that a little ambiguous, shall we? He remembers her from their confrontation way back when and when he needs her, he knows exactly were to pick her up, if only she were cooperative. That feisty thing again.
Stan has a plot moppet by the name of Troy, eight years old and in need of some karate training to build up his shattered self confidence. Cue entrance of heroine, stage right.
The story is basically a battle, with a few sweet moments of surrender. Stella falls for Troy right from the start, but has ambivalent feelings about bossy, blackmailing billionaires. As you do.
Overall quite a sweet story under the dramatic trappings.
I received a copy of this book from Netgalley for an independent review.
