Got my thriller juices running for sure.

This author is one I never hesitate buying her book. I know I’m going to love it.

This was a brilliant read. As soon as I started reading this book I just knew I was going to love it. Highly recommended

A page turner of a book that I couldn't put down, lots of twits and turns. I enjoyed this book

This book gave me the shivers down my spine, like someone was watching me ( I live in a flat on the second floor and have blackout blinds down most days nobody is watching me ) but it gave me that feeling. It has been a while since I read and enjoyed a thriller and I wpuld recommend

Initially, you think you're just reading about a normal couple, but the secrets keep coming out slowly and you realise everyone is hiding something. A real page-turner, could not put it down and kept me going. Read it in 2 days!

Cat and mouse games. But what if there is more than one cat?

I have rather enjoyed this witty psychological novel about the swaps (of more than houses) - that is, until the last few chapters where things got overcomplicated for me. But until the certain point I was greatly amused by the build-up of uncertainty, tensions and webs to trap the unsuspecting fly. The psychology of female frenemies is interesting, if clichey at moments. There is not one likable character (the males are naive, the females are cunning), but the females at least can provide for the interesting read with their colourful motives. The morales of the heroines are very questionable, too -good for the tension, but do not try this at home!

But I admire the writer for going there. The world of female friends-to-enemies might be a sea of sharks and as a literary plot it works very well.

I will follow this authoress as she certainly has vivid imagination.

I thought this was really good until I got near the ending. The twist in the middle was great. However, the meeting of the girls was anticlimatic, and I was frustrated at the ending. A further twist could have been added by asking Hannah to vouch for the appearance of another person next door, which could have been complied with or refused. But to make no attempts was odd - even with a guilty conscience, surely she would have fought a little more?

I am in charge of our Senior School library and now during this time of lockdown, I am looking for a diverse array of new books to furnish their shelves with and inspire our young people to read a wider and more diverse range of books as they move through the senior school. It is hard sometimes to find books that will grab the attention of young people as their time is short and we are competing against technology and online entertainments.
This was a thought-provoking and well-written read that will appeal to readers across the board. It had a really strong voice and a compelling narrative that I think would capture their attention and draw them in. It kept me engrossed and I think that it's so important that the books that we purchase for both our young people and our staff are appealing to as broad a range of readers as possible - as well as providing them with something a little 'different' that they might not have come across in school libraries before.
This was a really enjoyable read and I will definitely be purchasing a copy for school so that our young people can enjoy it for themselves. A satisfying and well-crafted read that I keep thinking about long after closing its final page - and that definitely makes it a must-buy for me!

Complicated with lots of twists. How it could happen in real life I don’t know but made an enjoyable read.

'Last Seen Alive' is a book that has so much going on in it, so many plot twist and turns, that you just won't be able to put it down!

I read this book within 24 hours and there were times where all the twists were keeping me up at night from giving me the creeps! It is such a well though out story-line and I applaud Claire for creating such a fascinating and thrilling story.

I would say the final chapters seemed a little rushed and the two girls quickly forgave each other, however, that being said, I would read this over and over again, and recommend to all my friends and family!

This book was ok, it was a bit cheesy and not very deeply written. No hidden nuances or wry wit. However it passed the time for a day.

I loved this book for all it’s twists and turns!

Libby’s recently suffered a trauma - more than one actually but a chance trip away seems like the perfect opportunity to have some downtime with her husband. No meddling family members or exes to be involved in their life. Libby really begins to struggle with her anxiety and the trip of a lifetime to the gorgeous house in Cornwall just enhances her inability to let go of the past. Before long, there are just too many strange goings on and Jamie gets taken very ill - how will Libby cope without him in that big isolated house?

Libby thought she had done her research: a house swap with a successful couple seemed a perfect getaway but before long they are embroiled in theft, murder and facing the past. Who really is Libby?

I couldn’t wait to finish this book - so much of it was a surprise but it really opens my eyes to these people who let their house to complete strangers! What do you expect?? A very well thought out storyline with an excellent pace throughout - I couldn’t wait to find out how it all panned out. The perfect unputdowbable page turner for a winter’s evening with a glass of wine. Don’t read it alone in an empty house...

Yes it’s a little far-fetched that someone would house swap at the drop of a ‘note’ but if you’re able to get past this you’ll enjoy a really good twisty read that will keep you guessing.

Last Seen Alive by Claire Douglas follows husband and wife Libby and Jamie as they arrive for a week-long house-swap in a beautiful modern, converted home in Cornwall. In exchange, a desperate couple are staying in their flat in Bath while their daughter undergoes a life-saving heart operation in the hospital nearby. When Libby and Jamie arrive in Cornwall, they can't believe their luck. The house is the height of sophistication and modern luxury and its theirs for the week and for free! As the couple settle into the home, we find out that Libby is recovering from an accident and is looking to escape the attention and stress of recent events. Husband Jamie has recently set up his own business and is stressed with work whilst also trying to look after Libby. The relationship is tense and strained but they are both ready to relax and enjoy their break together and to try to reconnect.

During their break, Libby starts to feel like the house and the situation is not quite the ideal they'd hoped for. She starts to feel like they're being watched and when an accident on a day out puts her in danger, Libby's paranoia grows. Convinced she's seen a man watching them and then seeing a man walk through the gardens of the house, she desperately tries to get Jamie to see that they could be in danger. They discover a locked door in the house and what they find deeply disturbs them both. When Jamie falls ill and has to be admitted to hospital, Libby is terrified to go back to the house alone. When she begins to doubt the perfect offer they've been given, her discoveries lead to police involvement and the couple return home early, shaken and more stressed than ever.

From here, the book takes on a twist that I did not see coming and took the book from an average read to something a little bit more special! Last Seen Alive results in more twists and turns than I could count but it's clear this is a well developed and thought out plot that will definitely surprise the reader. Personally I really enjoyed this twist and felt like the book was left on one heck of a cliffhanger!

A very enjoyable read which will keep the reader guessing until the end, I'd definitely recommend giving Last Seen Alive a read!

What can I say - wow. Just wow. This book had me gripped from the beginning, and towards the end I was reading like a woman possessed. I did not expect the twists towards the end. Very well done, highly highly recommended!!!
