I received an ARC of this book in return for an honest review.

Tim Weaver's *I Am Missing* takes readers on a thrilling, unpredictable journey that starts with an intriguing premise. The blurb gives no real insight into the story, and as usual, this leaves room for a surprising, twist-filled narrative. At the outset, I was completely captivated by the mystery surrounding the disappearance of the protagonist and the dark, complex web that unfolds. Weaver's writing skillfully builds suspense, keeping the reader hooked as the plot twists and turns in unexpected directions.

However, as the story progressed, I found myself struggling with its increasing implausibility. While the early chapters had me on the edge of my seat, later developments seemed too far-fetched and stretched the boundaries of believability. The plot veered into territory that felt less grounded in reality, which ultimately impacted my enjoyment of the book. Despite this, *I Am Missing* remains a fast-paced, suspenseful read for fans of the genre.

Richard Kite, a man with no memory of his past, looking for answers that only one man can help him with.

Can his past be found? What’s it going to cost to know the truth.

This rollercoaster novel has you on the edge of your seat from the first few pages. The story, so brilliantly written, takes you on an absorbing journey of twists, and deceit. A truly great read.

A quality read in a well established series which almost guarantees great escapism.
This one was a bit of a slow burner but well worth getting over the first few chapters as the plot is slick and the characters solid.

I enjoyed this book - lots of twists and kept my interest throughout. Really good storyline - complex but not too difficult to follow.

I understand this is a long series involving David Raker however, unbeknown to me, I’ve arrived at book 8.
Never mind, I’m sure I’ve missed loads but this is a new case to solve so I read it as is.

It’s a fab opening that will create a hook right away and draw you in.

Great well thought out plot with lots of twists.

Took awhile to get to this one but glad I did. Nicely plotted and paced thriller & left me wanting to read more from Tim Weaver.

This book is part of a series but can be read as a standalone novel. David Rakes is a PI hired by a man with amnesia to try and find out who he is and where he came from.

Intriguing plot with lots of twists to keep you on your toes. Higly recommend

This is the first one I have read of this series and thankfully, it seems they can all be read as standalone books. I really enjoyed it - the idea of those islands was great, and the author captured the brooding menace of the place really well.
I liked how the twists weren't always obvious, and I look forward to reading more from this talented author.

Like all Tim Weavers books I was gripped from the start. Every time I read one of his books I am not disappointed. The same with this one.

Giving it a miss!

It sounded like the Television show ‘Blindspot’ a little thrilling but a story too much like one I’ve read before. Also a little too procedural for my liking.

I am in charge of our Senior School library and now during this time of lockdown, I am looking for a diverse array of new books to furnish their shelves with and inspire our young people to read a wider and more diverse range of books as they move through the senior school. It is hard sometimes to find books that will grab the attention of young people as their time is short and we are competing against technology and online entertainments.
This was a thought-provoking and well-written read that will appeal to readers across the board. It had a really strong voice and a compelling narrative that I think would capture their attention and draw them in. It kept me engrossed and I think that it's so important that the books that we purchase for both our young people and our staff are appealing to as broad a range of readers as possible - as well as providing them with something a little 'different' that they might not have come across in school libraries before.
This was a really enjoyable read and I will definitely be purchasing a copy for school so that our young people can enjoy it for themselves. A satisfying and well-crafted read that I keep thinking about long after closing its final page - and that definitely makes it a must-buy for me!

Gripped from the beginning,
Full of twists, turns, and suspense and had no idea which direction it was going in
First time I've read this author and definitely will read the books prior to this

When a young man wakes up bruised, beaten and with no memory of who he is or where he came from, the press immediately dub him 'The Lost Man'.

Ten months later, Richard Kite - if that is even his real name - remains as desperate as ever. Despite appeals and the efforts of the police, no one knows this man.

Kite's last hope may be private investigator David Raker - a seasoned locator of missing people. But Raker has more questions than answers.

Who is Richard Kite?

Why does no one know him?

And what links him to the body of a woman found beside a London railway line two years ago?

The market for these books is ten a penny, however they do draw you in and leave you second guessing the answer, sometimes you are bang on and sometimes they surprise you. It was a nice story.

My first David Raker book and it was ok. Just ok, not brilliant. Some good bits but probably what you would expect from the standard thriller playbook.

I enjoyed this book - twists were impossible to see coming. Really well constructed, the plot was complex but good to follow. Really enjoyable.

I Am Missing is the eighth book in the David Raker series and the first one I’ve read. The book centres on Richard Kite who has dissociative amnesia. He recruits David Raker to try and solve the mysteries of who he is and what happened to him before he washed up next to a lifeboat station in Southampton. Police and his therapist have been unable to help him find the pieces of the puzzle and the media attention around “The Lost Man” has long since dwindled to nothing.
Raker realises he’s heard the story of “The Lost Man” and assumes that he won’t be able to solve the mystery but starts his inquiries anyway. From here the book snowballs from almost no information to piece after piece falling into place and taking Raker on a journey back to Richard’s home, uncovering a world of terrible deception, secrets, lies and murder along the way.

I Am Missing is very well written and brilliantly planned and structured to keep the suspense built through out. Tim Weaver is a master of suspense with every chapter ending on a mini cliffhanger of suspense making it near impossible to put down. The story is split into four parts and we see accounts from a young girl called Penny but where she fits in the puzzle we don’t know. These throwback scenes are eerie and full of suspense that will have you questioning what is going on and how they are linked to Richard. To plan a book with the amount of twists, turns and reveals as this is a brilliant achievement. I had no idea where the book was going and what the truth would be and I wasn’t disappointed.

With the focus on solving the mystery of Richard, we don’t really learn much about David Raker. His story will be in the preceding 7 books in the series; books that I’m now fully intent on reading!

I Am Missing works well as a stand-alone book and will be a big hit with readers who are already fans of the David Raker series.

An enjoyable read full of suspense and shocking deception and discovery that I’d definitely recommend!

Thank you to Tim Weaver, NetGalley and the publisher for the advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

Thanks for the opportunity to have read this stunning book. This was the first book by Tim Weaver I've read and now I will rectify that!
Imagine not knowing who you are. What happened to you to lose your memories. The suspense throughout the book, made me finish it in one sitting! Highly recommended.

Another in the David Raker series. Richard has lost his memory, he doesn't even know if his name is really Richard. He has no long term memory, he doesn't know who he s, where he came from or any details of his life before being found washed up in Southampton water. David Raker steps in in an attempt to put Richards past together and discover the truth. Full of twists and turns, deception and lost love. A must for all Raker fans.
